He told us our router was old and obsolete and that we could have a new one for no additional charge. We swapped it out, changed our passwords and most of the problems disappeared. He also showed us a program on our phones to show us exactly where our data was spiking, and that was the fix! We had a google glitch that was killing our data. Problem solved!

Well they…read moresaid I went over my limit?? how is that "unlimited" they started charging me $10 bucks for every gig I went over a certain number of gigs. Apparently, I went 6 gigs over in 1 month so there was an additional 60 bucks, basically my bill doubled! I had done nothing different from the prior year I had service with them, that was weird. The next month they said I went 7 gigs over. So, my bill was $130. I called customer service and talked to someone in another country, clearly not named Steve but prob Sarvesh. I got nowhere with that call. Then they shut off my service after only 2 months WTF! I called again to complain and got some rando chick from the Slumdog millionaire club who was not understanding the situation. I literally told her, "Either you are AI that does not understand ROI and customer retention, or you are a really slow human!" she just stuck to the prewritten script and said I can't reverse the charges, I said yes, you CAN! but wont. So, you are willing to lose a lifelong customer for $110.00 dollars. They tried upselling me and wanted more money and I said to go F yourself are you deaf? I said Bye Felicia! I am not paying a dime and to lose my number. Have fun playing with your own COX ! Corporate greed at its finest my friends.

As he was represented at that specific day. I came back again to the same place I met Robert before, and after so many disappointments from cox t.v. I decided to go ahead and switch to direct t.v. They gave me an excellent deal that I couldn't pass by and for all the channels that I got, I thought that it was a bargain what I'm paying for it now. The picture is clear. Comes quickly and the remote control it's easy and fun to play with. Joseph was so kind and nice to me and offered to help me to go through with all the information process if I'll not understand exactly how to do it. He was patience and very helpful and gave me great support to have better knowledge of the program that I still have to learn a little more. Philip, the installer was nice, kind and very informative & showed me exactly how to do any thing that I've asked him on the spot. I couldn't be more happy and thankful to this wonderful people that gave me such a great deal that saved me over $50 a month for all that extra channels that I'm so much enjoying from and the kindness and support that I still have from this company and their wonderful people, is priceless to me! I'll be happy to stay with direct t.v. As long as they'll let me because of all that generosity, service & lots of savings that they offered me & still honored that. You guys are the BEST! Thanks God I found you when I really needed the change! I'll be happy to recommend to any body I know about your great & incredible service that you offer & I'm sure every body will appreciate it when they'll try. I know I definitely am!

He is so patient and kind in his explanation (not all of us are tech savvy) he also went 100% above and beyond for us in helping to ensure our event had the connectivity we needed to be successful. I'm usually willing to give people a benefit of the doubt, but honestly, I should trust my gut more…read morewhen there are multiple red flags from the start. I reached out to Empire Satellites Inc after looking online for someone to install my new Starlink dish. Chris responded promptly via text from a different number (red flag number one). Quoted a price for the install - $349, which I thought was reasonable. Set up an appointment for the same day at 2:30pm. At 3:00 get a text that he we will be "couple of hours late" (red flag number two). OK, no problem. Finally shows up at 6:10pm. Started to look around the house to find a good location to mount the dish. Settle on a tall side gable (single story house), but his ladder is only 18', so he says that that's as high as he can mount it, not at the gable apex. Not ideal, but OK. Casually mentions that he charges an extra $100 for the "attic work" (major red flag number three). As if most people expect to have wires hanging on their exterior walls? I don't argue, but at this point I am really expecting to see stellar work quality, above and beyond attention to detail. This is where things really go to shit. Chris gets up to the facia and starts mounting the dish in a mount that I provided. I am looking from below and clearly can see that the mount is not plumb and is wobbling, as he puts three lugnut screws through the facia. He assures me that it is plenty stable. Red flag number four. Drills a hole through the wall for the cable and goes inside the house to fish for it in the attic. In the meantime, I get up the ladder and take a picture of the mount. It is clearly not fully bolted to the facia, with one of the bolts screwed at a 45 degree angle. The thing wobbles like crazy. Thirty minutes later, and two more holes in the ceiling plate from the attic, the cable is still not down to the final location, despite the fact that 5 extra ethernet cables were routed through the same wall from the attic by my electrician a few weeks before. Chris offers to surface mount the wire to the wall in the finished pantry room - ugliest, laziest install ever. Red flag number five. This is when I say "that's enough" and kick him out of my house. He is genuinely surprised when I offer to pay him only $250 for the horrendous job he did, and not the full $450 he was expecting. Before he leaves, he blames me for providing a bad mount for the dish, and tries to upsell his own mount for $100. Unbelievable. I have worked with dozens of subs int he last two years while building my house, and know my way around tools and trades. This was one of the worst experiences. The guy has the worst work ethic and zero integrity.

We live in an area of Bonsall that has no other broadband options, other than satellite. Kind of a broadband dark spot. Just from that standpoint, SDB has been a godsend. I work from home and am utterly dependent on reliable, high quality/speed internet service. Speeds average from 70Mbps to around 100Mbps. Pings are decent at around 14-20ms. When streaming HD content, we never have issues with feed being interrupted. There have been a few outages over the years, but they never seem to last long. And whenever I've called SDB's tech support they have always been very informative, helpful and patient. I've read some of the negative reviews and am sorry that others have had issues--I wonder if that's location-specific. Some of us in more rural areas can find it difficult to find reliable service. All I can say is that, for me, SDB has been completely first rate on all fronts, and I've dealt with AT&T, Cox, Comcast and a few others over the years, none of which have been as reliable or as helpful as SDB.

It's great to hear that they "reached out" to apologize. Unfortunately, they didn't leave any message so there's no way for me to have known. It seems like now it's on me that they didn't hear back. Once again, it looks like my bad here.
