Extremely unprofessional management. I had a pleasant interaction with a staff member named Jerry, but the manager, Guillermo, refused to even speak with me. After waiting 10 minutes, I was told the manager "wouldn't waste his time" because my issue didn't involve a sale. Jerry was professional and honest about the lack of support at this location, but he seemed incredibly stressed by the environment. While corporate support eventually fixed my issue, this experience was so poor that I have moved on to a different company. Avoid this location if you expect any level of service. Worst TV experience ever. Tried the "new" router from Spectrum and nothing but troubles. I no longer can watch TV anymore. Very slow set up, constant buffering (about every 3-5 seconds, and the picture is unclear. The "new" Xumo is horrible. My 29 year old son agrees with me so it's not me! Good deal on fast internet but the 3 people I spoke with on the phone (sales, billing and customer service reps) all provided different price quotes. Sounds like lots of bad reviews. I would like to post a positive experience I had. My cable was not getting selected channels and my internet was sporadic. Pit in a service call. Set up 4-5 pm. Tech Miroslaw showed up at 430. I described the issue, he was very professional and thorough. Discovered signal on was good but coming back faulty. He did change out an old cable from street to house and place a secondary call to service the issue. Was notified completed that night. All is working great now. Special kudos to Miroslaw and his team. Highly recommend! read more

The worst company to deal with in my life. I don't understand how legislators can allow a monopoly like we see between Cox and spectrum. The results are not surprising, you get horrible service and horrible customer experiences when purchasing and returning equipment. The staff is untrained and unprofessional and the costs are exorbitant compared to what you see in a free, open market. Horrible store and experience. No one here offered to schedule a tech to come out, they acted like it would be plug n play despite the place I'm living at previously having AT&T. They still had the audacity to leave me a business card and they clearly get commission. Then after scheduling a tech to come by he was 3 hours late. When the tech arrived he took one look behind the wall coax and said "Yeah, this was never going to work". Lastly you can only configure the router through this app with an account! Going to the gateway address will tell you to download the app which is extremely limited in the settings offered. Not only are we relying on their own security, we can't customize the router more than a few basic settings. Go with literally any other provider! read more

They don't care about their reputation with customers or the customer experience. With so many one star review they are not good working with Customers. Went here to pick up my modem after ordering internet on line. No acknowledgement they just stare down at their computer ignoring you in the hopes you leave so they won't have to service you. Wow amazing how bad the customer service is here. The employees must really hate their jobs, but this should not be a reason to treat customers like crap. What a waste of time. I needed to pick up a router for my new home. My wife started us an account and she added me to the account over the app. When I got in the store there were 2 employees and quite a few people waiting. I put my name down and waited for over an hour. When it was my turn they informed me that I needed to be added to the account over the phone and not on the app. So they couldn't let me pick up the equipment and I wasted all my time. Would have been nice to know beforehand. A poor woman was dropping off a check but they wouldn't let her do it without an appointment so they made her wait over an hour just to hand off a check. I wanted to upgrade my Spectrum internet so I talked to someone in sales on the phone who gave me a lot of information on what sounded like a good plan. I wanted to think about it so he said he'd call me back in a couple and he never did. So I went to the Spectrum store to do it. The man who helped me, Brian, was very nice but after I left there I learned that: 1) He didn't tell me that I was at the beginning of a billing cycle on my old, more expensive plan and would be billed that rate for this month. 2) He didn't add our watches to our mobile plan as he was supposed to do so I had to either call or make another trip to the store to do it. 3) He didn't tell me there was a $20 activation fee for each watch. 4) He had me pay $100 but didn't explain to me what that was for. On top of that, the modem I was given was defective so I couldn't hook it up myself and had to wait a few days for a technician to come out. I'm sure it'll be fine once everything gets going as it's supposed to but I'm not happy with my experience so far. read more

I recently moved only 3 miles from my current residence and called to have Spectrum Internet canceled at one residence while installed at new residence. When I called to request a credit for one month of billing that shouldn't have existed, Spectrum customer service explained that I had 'insufficient evidence' of the cancellation. AND they won't offer a customer retention credit for a miscommunication with the telephone rep at the time of cancellation. This after ELEVEN YEARS as a loyal customer. Bye Bye Spectrum! Use Direct TV, not Spectrum! Do not use them. The product is pretty good but, although they will prorate your monthly bill when you start using them, they won't prorate your bill when you have to disconnect. In our case, moving out of state. They will charge you for the whole billing cycle, regardless of when you stop using them. We are moving out of state and asked for the disconnect to be on our moving date which happens to be halfway through the "billing cycle". Essentially, we are paying for over two weeks worth of service when we won't even be in the state. The new homeowner will start their service and Spectrum will be making money off of both our families. I pointed out how unfair that was to the supervisor, James, and he basically said "too bad". They do not prorate the ending of any billing cycle. Bad, bad business! Go elsewhere if you can. read more

I gave 1 Star, because it does not allow me to rate them with a 0 of -0. Last month, we turned off our business service after 25 years and wanted to transfer the landline number to our cell phone so we could continue to receive call from customers. We've been on the phone 5-6 times (at least 1 hour each call) with a Rep to find out what's going on, and at first, they tell us that the number doesn't exist, and is not in their inventory. Then, they tell us that they will make sure that the number is transferred so we can receive the calls. Last week, we were told that we had to purchase a new cell phone so they could transfer our prior number to a new device, and it would be active on 1/21/25. SO, we purchased a new cell phone as required... Now today, (1-21-25), low and behold, they can't find the number again...:-( This is absolutely the worst. NO Help Today. They'll place a ticket. I had a very negative experience with Spectrum's customer service. I was planning to disconnect my Spectrum internet service, but when I spoke to the Retention Department, the representative assured me that my bill would be $54.99 per month. In the first month, on July 14, 2024, $54.99 was deducted from my credit card as promised. However, I then received a bill for $69.24 due on August 13th. I called to inquire about this discrepancy and was given a different amount and explanation by each person I spoke to: the representative, the supervisor, and the billing department staff. This inconsistency is unacceptable, and I no longer wish to continue with their service. I plan to share this negative experience in reviews wherever possible so that others can make informed decisions when choosing an internet provider. read more

After receiving regular and continuous unsubstantiated rate / fee charge increases from Spectrum over many years, together with very deficient internet / phone / TV services (internet down"regularly), our billing crept from less than $100/mo to well over $300/mo. The forced rate increases at the the whim of Spectrum were accompanied by poorer service over many years. Finally we reduced our Spectrum billing footprint down to $124.95/mo by eliminating TV services and buying into a IPS speed increase from 100 to 300mps. Yet, using the SpeedTest App, we never saw an increase in Download-Upload speeds inspite of being charged for faster service. We shopped available IPS and found faster and 5g unlimited service for $30/mo TOTAL. Yesterday, 12SEP24 went into the Carlsbad Spectrum store (Avenida Encinas) and cancelled all services. We also returned all Spectrum equipment during this visit. We were told in very rude and condescending fashion that even though we cancelled as of 12 Sept 2024, "Spectrum does NOT pro-rate billing changes" and that the (increased !) payment of 132.23 that was due the next day (13 Sep) must be paid right there on the spot (a day early) or we would 'be sent to collections and our credit would be dinged !' When the employee at Register 6 was questioned as to how he could make such unfounded threats for a payment not even yet due, he simply continued to threaten collections / credit damage actions. He further stated the "no-prorated" policy is firm and that YES, we had to pay for services into next month for which we had no way to access or use because we already cancelled. We are meeting with a Class Action Legal Firm to seek remedies available to us, and others, in this matter. Quite simply, we have been robbed and mistreated by Spectrum and we are not letting go of resolution. (BTW, we never missed a Spectrum payment [auto-pay] for decades and the threats of collection / credit actions are totally baseless and unfounded) read more

I was in this store recently. My daughter wanted to get off my account and open her own cellular account and buy a new phone. There were four young men sitting around on their phones. They would not help us. They were NOT busy. The guy handed me a business card with a hand written customer service phone number on it. Said I needed to call it and they would help me. Have you ever called Spectrum customer service? Wait on hold for at least 30 mins and at the end of the call they have not helped me with what I was calling for. Now filling out this form on line to transfer daughter phone to her own new account and the guys in the store would not print it. I need to sign and upload this and my drivers license. But they will not print the form for me!! First of all I don't want my license into the WWW. Anybody ever hear if Identity Theft??! 2nd I don't have a printer. Why is it so hard??!!! I'm standing in the store telling them it's OK that my daughter wants to open her new account!! You'd think they would be happy about that!! Terrible!! After years of paying over $300/month on our cable / internet, we finally cut the cord...NO MORE CABLE!!!! I thought returning all of our Spectrum rented devices felt good but it's been a little over a month and getting these low bills from Spectrum feel even better. Our bill is still about $80-ish dollars for their highest speed internet and having a land line still coming in. It can be reduced another $13 if we get rid of the phone but I don't know, I'm old school and want that in case of an emergency. Spectrum / Time Warner Cable has served its purpose but took a good amount of money from our pocket books every month in the process. I wish we did this years ago. We still have Netflix and Disney+ and currently testing out YouTube TV to see if that's an option. Right now, we are saving over $200/mo with no cable and I definitely don't have FOMO. Following three + years of engaging service from Spectrum, I decided the fees were extremely high. My first encounter in the location was frustrating. When I inquired about a less expensive program and what my alternatives were, I was given a very cursory answer offering me very little in the way of savings. The big "push" was to switch my ATT cellular to Spectrum and then I could save money. I was interested in streamlining my TV service and ridding myself of the unattractive cable box. A solution was offered but again, linked to having a Spectrum cellular even though I told the associate I had no interest in changing providers for my cell service. I then went to ATT and found exactly what I needed. By switching my internet and TV service to ATT I saved well over $100 a month. The TV situation was easily resolved with ATT's Direct TV Stream device. I immediately returned all of my Spectrum equipment and learned from the clerk at this location that I would have to pay the full month's fee even though my month's cycle began one day prior to returning the equipment. The clerk suggested I call Spectrum billing and request an exception given the short period of time of the new cycle. A claim was filed and 72 hours the request was denied. Spectrum refused to refund my $250+ monthly fee. I guess they need it more than I do! Spectrum is in the business of profit which I respect but they fail at the loyalty piece of business. They did not attempt to retain my business at all. I endorse ATT if it is an area any one reads this lives in. The internet and TV service are seamless and my mobile phone did not play a part in the pricing I received. I have been an ATT/Bell System legacy customer for decades. I am treated with respect and ATT is genuinely grateful for my patronage. I suggest thinking twice before engaging with Spectrum read more
