I unexpectedly found myself here over the weekend after my husband hinted at how much he wanted to play some mini-golf. Mini-golf isn't really my thing and this location didn't do anything to change my mind. Coyote Crossing is a small, no-frills miniature golf place located randomly off North Avenue in West Chicago. It's $5 per person for a round of 18 holes, which is a pretty decent price compared to others in the area. Yet, you get what you pay for. The holes were nothing special: no windmills, no funny statues, no bells and whistles. At least the employees are super friendly and the weather was nice. There wasn't anything that could be done about this, but I was also annoyed that our game took a long longer than it should have. We spent a majority of our time just standing around, waiting for the group in front of us to finish their hole. There were only four of them, but they were taking awhile and soon the people playing the holes behind us caught up until we were all waiting for that one group to move on. We felt squished between groups and rushed. I noticed on the scorecard that it's a mini golf courtesy to let a smaller, faster-moving group go in front of you, but they just ignored us. Meh. Oh well. I was in a better mood when the game was over. As you return your ball at the front desk, there's a little machine you put the ball in with the chance to win something. I actually won something -- a free drink. Woo-hoo?

There aren't too many options anymore when you got the urge to mini golf. Luckily, Carol Stream/West Chicago now offers Coyote Crossing to the public. The park is fairly new (opened in 2004) and in very good condition--often when I think of mini golf the connotation of an old, dirty amusement park comes along with it. The price is reasonable and just right; $5 for those 3 & up for the 18-hole course which is very simple in nature with only a few double holes, hills and unexpected twists. I wish the "mining, outdoorsy" theme were a bit more exciting and represented (like the golfing jungles of Congo River). Coyote Crossing does have movie nights where you pay for a round of golf and you get a free outdoor kids movie with popcorn. Perfect night out for the kids! Sometimes they offer Cosmic Golf too--see their website for events. When you're finished playing, don't miss out by placing your ball in the little notch game to try and win a free round for your next visit.

Cute miniature golf place right on North Avenue in the west suburbs. They have music playing while you golf and since it is relatively new, the greens are in good condition. The prices are a bit higher than I'm used to paying, but there's a $1 off coupon at their site, plus when we visited last night they had a family rate of $20 for 4 players with each additional player $4. Here's a breakdown of their prices since they aren't listed on the website: Everyone age 6 and up: $7 Play-again rate: $4 Children 5 and under are Free! Play 10 rounds, get one Free! Free punch cards available.

Very reasonable price and a decent mini golf experience. Could use a little bit of repair but overall fun enough for what it is.

My daughter loooooves this place! It is relatively new so everything is in great shape. Reasonable price, too - $5 for ages 3 and up.

The course has the right amount of challenge and some nice visuals, like the waterfall and mine cart, but unfortunately those visuals are just scenery and aren't interactive.

I was $7 and he was free It was unlimited rounds but just too hot that day, otherwise we would have TOTALLY went around again. Course has some challenging holes with bumps and narrow spots.... So it was perfect. I just don't like carpenter ants .. so I wish I would have worn gym shoes instead of sandals. If it was closer to us, we would probably be here weekly.

I even lost my ball under the "cottage" you're supposed to putt under...but I'd seen a lost ball at the last hole so just nabbed that and continued on!) - Shaded (lots of tree cover on a sunny day) Overall, this was pretty great! I would definitely come out here again for another round.

Fun for corporate events or very casual putt putt enthusiasts…read more I visited recently for a corporate event, and the best part of the experience was honestly the food! We all loved the mini bites and appetizers served. Everything was delicious! I especially loved the coconut shrimp and mini sliders! There were a lot of great options for vegetarians, GF and dairy free eaters. The papa itself is a fun time but is pretty quick. It's a fun take on classic mini golf where you're actually trying to get more points and have a higher score versus a low score. The putt putt holes are super short and I can't imagine someone could possibly get over 3 or 4 on a hole unless they were really not trying. I think this worked well for a corporate event because we were enjoying making small talk and being casual about the experience, but I don't know that I would come here on a first date or with a group of friends because we would just move through the mini golf course so quickly. But if you are looking for just a little activity to do before enjoying the food and bar at this location then give it a try!

We…read morebooked a reservation here not knowing what this place truly was we were going to do both the mini golf and stay for food. We booked a 5:30 p.m. reservation on a weekend and we didn't realize that this place had a really really long line when it came to check again. We booked a reservation online and we assume that our reservation automatically started at set time but really it truly doesn't matter what time your reservation is because you could just show up whenever you want it doesn't mean you automatically start playing at the time you reserve. You more so just book everything in advance and just save yourself a few minutes. The waiting is really long as if you're waiting for your favorite ride at an amusement park but the line is an hour long. There's four different courses in each one is nine holes. I will say that the courses were really fun and is a unique spin on how to play mini golf which is way more entertaining than LIV golf. Sadly I lost but I had fun. The price point just to play is truly pretty fair for what it was worth. Right after booking our golf reservations we tried booking our dinner reservations as well but that turned into a big issue which made us call them to try to make us redo our reservation to dine in and when we were done playing the mini golf we had an issue trying to get our seat but it looked like my name was spelled wrong and I caught it when I noticed on her tablet which was corrected. Dining was a pretty good experience just because the server came up immediately after we were seated we couldn't even look at the drink menu but thankfully he was very friendly. They have vegan options for my wife which was the main reason why we dined in. Food was pricey, I did enjoy their non-alcoholic drinks but if I were to come back here, I might just come back on a weekday where is probably a bit more quiet and less hectic.
