This is such a perfect spot. It's low priced, it's spacious, and there's ample seating for those who are hanging out. They even offer a few food/snack options. There are 18 holes. I unexpectedly found myself here over the weekend after my husband hinted at how much he wanted to play some mini-golf. Mini-golf isn't really my thing and this location didn't do anything to change my mind. Coyote Crossing is a small, no-frills miniature golf place located randomly off North Avenue in West Chicago. It's $5 per person for a round of 18 holes, which is a pretty decent price compared to others in the area. Yet, you get what you pay for. The holes were nothing special: no windmills, no funny statues, no bells and whistles. At least the employees are super friendly and the weather was nice. There wasn't anything that could be done about this, but I was also annoyed that our game took a long longer than it should have. We spent a majority of our time just standing around, waiting for the group in front of us to finish their hole. There were only four of them, but they were taking awhile and soon the people playing the holes behind us caught up until we were all waiting for that one group to move on. We felt squished between groups and rushed. I noticed on the scorecard that it's a mini golf courtesy to let a smaller, faster-moving group go in front of you, but they just ignored us. Meh. Oh well. I was in a better mood when the game was over. As you return your ball at the front desk, there's a little machine you put the ball in with the chance to win something. There aren't too many options anymore when you got the urge to mini golf. Luckily, Carol Stream/West Chicago now offers Coyote Crossing to the public. The park is fairly new (opened in 2004) and in very good condition--often when I think of mini golf the connotation of an old, dirty amusement park comes along with it. The price is reasonable and just right; $5 for those 3 & up for the 18-hole course which is very simple in nature with only a few double holes, hills and unexpected twists. I wish the "mining, outdoorsy" theme were a bit more exciting and represented (like the golfing jungles of Congo River). Coyote Crossing does have movie nights where you pay for a round of golf and you get a free outdoor kids movie with popcorn. Perfect night out for the kids! This place for sure is like a hidden diamond in the rough. Located in the middle of no where pretty much, I always saw it while driving down North so decided to try it out. Brought my gf here for a date once and place did not disappoint for sure. Reasonable price for 18 holes. Wasn't too busy, though I did have a family trail me which rushed me and I couldn't do my Tiger Woods' impressions after sinking putts. Great place, look on their website for deals and other events. Would definitely recommend bringing your kids here if you got some. Beats driving 30 min or so to the next closes one. read more

It was cheaply priced; I think we got a group of 4 in for $12 or so. It seems that you get what you pay for though. The greens had not been swept and there were wood-chips and other debris all over the holes to mess up your shots. They also had the radio blaring loudly on high mounted speakers, so you could listen to all the commercials. The radio speaker tower was so loud at the hole closest to it, that we had to putt while plugging one ear. I had to complain to them inside that it was unbearably loud. There's perhaps one hole that has a wow factor, otherwise, the course quality is whatever. Cheap, but loud commercial radio with dirty holes = bad. read more

The course has the right amount of challenge and some nice visuals, like the waterfall and mine cart, but unfortunately those visuals are just scenery and aren't interactive. There are a few fake rocks with holes that you are challenged to hit your ball through, but they are positioned pretty far away and extremely difficult to get through. It's easier to putt around them! Our only complaint is that there is a metal ring around each cup and it constantly interfered with our balls falling into the cup. read more

My daughter loooooves this place! It is relatively new so everything is in great shape. Reasonable price, too - $5 for ages 3 and up.

My boyfriend and I were in the mood for something to do and decided on Mini Golf.... We had to run a few errands before we could go... unfortunately our errands took longer then we expected and we didn't make it to Coyote Crossing until 9:34pm.... then close at 10pm..... we tried to open the doors but they were locked so we headed back to our car :( One of the guys that was working opened the door and said that we could play but we had to stop by 10pm. We started the best Mini Golf Race ever!!! We both manged to get a hole in one!!! The same attendant was waling around the course a little before 10pm cleaning and shutting things off. We told him after we finish the 12th hole we would head out. He told us to finish the course and take our time. We finished at 10:05pm. We thanked both of the attendants for letting us play mini golf.... It was the best mini golf ever!!! read more

In an area of Carol Stream where there isn't much to do, Coyote Crossing is a nice oasis of fun. The course plays pretty fast as the holes aren't very challenging. But it's still a good time and you can't beat the price of $5 per person. The greens and equipment is in great shape and the candy selection at the counter is pretty solid. Not a bad place to practice your putter shots. Not much else to do in West Chicago. This place has some of the most uusual unique obstacles I have ever seen in the history of minature golf. The prices are reasonable and it is usually empty to play during the week. So you don;t have to wait for slower people. read more

It's not a fancy mini golf course, but you can't have high expectations from a park district course. It's fun and cheap way to kill 30 minutes or so, depending on the size of your group. Price is $5.00 a person and I suggest you avoid gong on the weekends as you'll be waiting for many other groups to go ahead if you. The location is easy to get to since it's right off of North, next to WBC. There's also snacks and drinks at a okay price. Coyote Crossing is a great place for a family outing/activity with kids. It's relatively inexpensive and there are almost always coupons for bogo. We like to go because it's never too crowded and the staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of theme nights make it fun to return to over and over. read more
