Congo River is the cutest mini golf course! The prices are super reasonable, and the course is much longer than I expected. It's such a fun date idea, and I loved all the scenery, waterfalls, and little water features throughout the course! A consistently fun and well maintained course that isn't too difficult to play on for beginners like myself, with nice and attractive features like a waterfall, bridge, stairs, and other fun terrain features that make for great photo opportunities as well as a way to escape the feeling of being in the Chicago suburbs for a very reasonable price. Parking isn't too difficult here and there's plenty of great food options nearby. The staff is also friendly, and the spacing feels fairly good between the different holes. This is a fun outdoor mini golf course for everyone. This is a fun spot for a family night out, date night, double date night etc. I was here with a group of 4 (double date) and it was a great time. It took us about an hour and 15 mins to complete 18 holes. We went to the course on the right. There are some challenging holes that kept this outing pretty exciting! There is a small arcade and some tables to hang out at after you're done with mini golf. I did not see a concession stand for food and drinks but I did see a vending machine for drinks. I've been here several times and continue to enjoy it. You don't necessarily have much interaction with the staff however they are there for checking in and getting your clubs . read more

Congo River Miniature Golf course doesn't have the typical trick shots, windmills like other mini golf courses, however the creative putting holes were still challenging and a lot of fun. They also did a nice job of decorating it with the safari theme throughout. All of the holes were attainable and the course was kept pretty clean. Be prepared to get your steps in by going up and down a lot of stairs as you work through the mountain. The bathroom was clean. There also is a small arcade and vending machines. Had a blast w my sister and nephews! We took a few of his friends and played the course. It was a fun and affordable reward for my nephew for his good behavior all summer so far. I know money is tight for most people, it is for me, but being able to take my nephew and his friends for under $60 on a fun filled adventure was priceless. They had 2 course and 18 holes each. (It was me). Congo River miniature gold is a well cool and imaginative monsters golf course that proved to be challenging and fun. Back in 2011 me and 3 buddies went there for a showdown when we was in town for the fedor vs Henderson strike force fights. We had a blast. Maybe the most fun I've ever had a mind tire golf course. I'd highly recommend this course for anyone who likes putt putt (mini golf) or has children and just looking for a fun time. It was quite hot out when we went, however there were shady spots to wait for the groups ahead of us at least every other hole and vending machines with gatorade. My husband and I met some friends at Congo River Miniature Golf to play some mini golf. When we arrived I felt like we hit the jackpot. I've been here many times as a child and as an adult and there was no line to get in. I'm used to there always being at least one party ahead of us. We paid for our game, got our clubs and balls and started our game right away. The course is unchallenging (no windmills or clown mouths) and has many low pars. The miniature golf course has many things to look at while playing (waterfalls, bridges, totem poles, spears, hats, masks, etc.). The course was fun and we felt like we were very physical while we were there (walking up and down the man-made mountain). As we were leaving there was a large line leading into the mini golf course. As I drove away, I could see that there was a crowd at every hole. This is the Congo River Miniature Golf that I remember. I loved this place! When I arrived to golf with friends, the parking lot was really full and we expected there would be a wait. We were pleasantly surprised when there was not! Players can choose between two courses, and I think having two routes really helped prevent crowds. We never had to wait for the next hole, and never had anything me else right at our heels. The course is clean and well-maintained, and had a nice variety of challenges. My group of 4 completed the course in about an hour. The staff was young, friendly and helpful. Love Congo River! We went a few times this summer. The course is adventurous with a lot of nice scenery and elevations. The pars aren't always on par, see what I did there, meaning realistic. Some of the holes are tough with the way the obstacles are situated, so if you're competitive or have golf experience, realize many par twos should be pars threes for the amateur mini golfer. The staff was always friendly to us. They made truthful recommendations about the length of the course and starting with 18, vs. 36, since you can add another round after you golf 18 for the same price. I appreciated the honesty and that the company lets you do that after, not locks you in before. When it's really crowded, we always play a hole twice until we can move forward, and no one bothers us about that. I figure it's better than staring down the group in front of us. :-) Most 18 hole rounds are about an hour, worth the cost of admission. read more

Mini golf rage is real and now I know how Happy Gilmore felt. "Why won't you go in your hole?!" I have passed Congo River Golf for years but never went. I'm glad that I did because it was the best designed and well-maintained mini golf that I have ever been to. The mountain and flowing water are both beautiful and functional sinse they are incorporated into the holes. Whoever thought of using little streams to control the path was brilliant. I don't know how some of these holes are par 2 though - they should really be par 10 to help beginners like me feel better about myself. Choose the Grand Rapids to go all the way up and down the congo river. If you get frustrated like me, then remember the wise words of Chubbs, "It's all in the hips." Rest in peace, buddy. read more

Congo River is a solid miniature golf facility that has two well-maintained courses offering 36 holes of fun. If you want enjoyable and challenging putt-putt then stop in with some friends, day or night. I've been coming here since high school and can say, unblinkingly, that the quality and fun have remained very high here. We only played a single round but it was just as fun and challenging as ever. The variety of obstacles and the overall condition of the grounds make this a place at which you want to play. On top of the golf they have an arcade room that offers a nice array of games as well as a few vending machines offering drinks. This is an amazing miniature golf course. Hubs and I came here on a Saturday morning and played all 36 holes. It cost about $30 for both of us to play the two courses, so pretty reasonable in my opinion. For $5 more you can play 36 holes rather than 18. Do it. You won't regret spending the extra few bucks. This course easily compares to the fun mini golf courses in Florida; they're not easy to find in the Midwest. All details seemed very well thought-out; from the Jeep and bridges to the waterfalls. I've been to a lot of putt-putt courses over the years and Congo River really is top notch. Staff was friendly. Music selection was great. Course appears to be very well-lit for nighttime play. Clean grounds. I recommend scanning the QR codes throughout both courses for additional deals. We will most definitely be back! read more

Ok fun times except all the players were on just one of the two courses so we stood and waiting a lot. It took about I think an 1 hour and 45 minutes for two players. The course was ok just wish there was more old school courses. And there are a few places you can loose the ball so that was a lil frustrating. This is a great place to check out! The have a huge waterfall in the middle of the course, which makes for great pictures. The course has two courses and both are fun, interesting, and enjoyable. Keep score if you want to, or not. They have nets in places where it tends to go over and it is set up quite logically. Plenty of parking and a fun time for the whole family. read more

Mini golf COVID style! First time here for myself and son, hubby was here more than a decade ago. The course had lots of waterfalls, man-made streams with live ducks (lol!) that were all dive-bombing for stuff, lots of hills and just a neat lay-out to take in. That was our favorite part of the trip. Everyone had to wear masks and people mostly stayed 6ft apart, which meant half-way through our 9 holes, we spent a bit of time waiting for the next groups to play through. It was a nice day and the course was nice to just walk around, though. The price was around $10 pp for 9 holes and that took us a couple of hours. I thought the holes weren't too easy with enough challenge to make it fun, with some holes multi-leveled. We all made a hole in one at least once, with son doing it twice. Happy golfing! read more

This is a great summertime adventure! The two courses are clean, challenging and fun! I brought my two nephews here (ages 5 and 10) and they had a BLAST! Be careful though-because if you loose a ball on the course (and their are MANY opportunities for this with a 5 and 10 yr old!) they will charge you for a new ball! It's not a huge expense-unless your 5 year old nephew thinks he is Tiger Woods!! We will be returning next summer for several rounds! read more

This is a tough one to rate, but I'm rounding up from 3.5 stars. On the one hand, this is the best-maintained and handsomest of any mini-golf course that I have seen in Chicagoland. There is something to be said for looking clean and sharp. On the other hand, the homogeneous hole design leaves much to be desired. They rely entirely on banks and slopes. Changes in elevation are an integral part of mini-golf architecture, but you have to use some variety to keep it interesting. The borders of each hole are comprised of rounded stones rather than wooden planks or concrete walls, so ricocheting does not come into play. It's just "blast it up the curved bank and hope for the best," then "pick out a path to avoid the slight depression on one side of the hole," then rinse and repeat. Playing just 18 holes is kind of boring; 36 holes would be stultifying. That said, even a mediocre mini-golf experience is still a good time, especially in fine weather with great company. The prices here seem reasonable for a facility and equipment in such good shape: for adults on weekdays before 6pm, it's $7.95 for 18 holes and $11.95 for 36. read more
