After parking in their complimentary lot without any issues, I checked in at the front desk. You can work out in a bunch of different ways at the Village: standard fitness equipment, classes, basketball, swimming, racquetball, and more. With that being said, they're known for tennis. While I don't know exactly how many courts they have, I'd venture to guess over 20. They're all outside... I don't understand why they don't have at least one or two inside given how hot it is in Phoenix. Which is why we decided to play at 8 p.m. When you're playing, you have the Papago mountains in the background which makes for a picturesque experience. The courts are well maintained, there are shaded seats, wet towels, and water jugs. All of this is a nice touch. You can also rent ball machines if you're practicing solo. The courts weren't busy since it was a Sunday, late, and it was during the summer, but if the weather is nice and it's a weekend, expect the courts to be packed. You can reserve a court to be safe. After working out, I showered at the facility. I was impressed here too. The showers are a good size, you have saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, and an area to chill with comfortable seating. You don't have to bring toiletries because they basically have everything you would need: soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, after shave, shaving cream, combs, q-tips, etc. Talk about convenience. For all of the amenities, you are going to pay a premium. More expensive than places like Mountainside Fitness. At least in my mind, it's only work it if you go several times a week. Or if you're interested in tennis especially. You can also take lessons for an additional charge. The staff I interacted with, though limited, was pleasant.

Tennis side of the club is livid 2) Renovation to Men's wet area are 15 months in and dry sauna works, nope, closed for the 3rd time this month. New tile is cracking .... 3) New Tennis director teachs at the club and has applied 5 times and on the 6th attempt gets the job. FyI 6tennis directors in 8 yrs Members pay the same monthly dues but Members who have been around have groups taking 7 or 8 courts every week and are not required to make reservations. THEY ARE GRANDFATHERED IN, per the new GM, Micki. OTHER members are required to get up at 4:55 AM, 48 hrs in advance to "maybe" get a court.

I am so glad they have a badminton gym here in Arizona. It is a small facility with only 4 courts. Usually 1 of the courts is taken for private lessons. So sometimes there was only 3 courts or 2 courts. Small gym but very friendly people. People are nice and they will play with you. You play 1 game and 4 will rotate off and 4 will rotate on. After you are done, you put your rackets on the wall and que yourself back in again. People are very friendly at this gym and there is air conditioning so that is nice when is it hot. Admission is $20 per adult. Overall, I had fun at the Arizona Center and will be back here whenever I am in town. I am glad they have a badminton place in Arizona.

Every day, you can hear all athletes cheering each other on for the most beginner lifters to the most advanced. The community is small but growing, and will continue to grow due to the excellent environment and coaches. Personally, I worked with Jimmy Marquez, who I can't say enough positive things about, since his love for the sport shows through his patience and willingness to teach even the most minute of details. The coaches are experts in building solid foundations (perfect technique above all else) for their lifters, so that they can develop and progress over the long term, as well as avoid potential injuries along the way. While each location differs in offerings and size, each location also offers something unique to the ASU community. While I've been in all locations, I often go to events most often at the Tempe Campus (which is what I was doing last week though the campus I go to work out at or for work in general is the West Valley Campus. Regardless of campus, all of the SDFC locations have well-trained student staff and professional staff who care about fitness and helping others be Well Devils. The SDFC fitness training options include group wellness, personal training, swim lessons, lifeguard training, safety education, and adaptive recreation. Sports programs include sports clubs and intramural sports. Note that some of these options and programs may have extra costs associated with them. The Tempe SDFC amenities include the Bike Co-Op, Sun Devil Kids Camp, Shake Smart, Equipment Rental, and Locker Rental. It has been many years since I have taken part in personal training at the SDFC, though I have a faculty/staff membership currently and have used this location (and the Downtown and West Valley Campus locations) for working out and using the treadmills, bikes, walking, and using the weight machines. All ASU in-person students pay a fee that includes membership to the SDFC. Non-fee paying students can get a SDFC membership for $100 per semester or $25 per month. Faculty and staff can pay $110 per semester for membership and pay through payroll deduction. ASU affiliates (alumni, ASU contractors, and students attending other colleges or universities) can pay $130 per semester for membership. SDFC members can sponsor someone else for $10 per visit or $45 for five visits through guest passes. I also find myself at different events, most often at the Tempe SDFC. This past week was the annual Vendor Fair, which ASU staff who work most closely with vendors (food and products) and hotels will come to the SDFC and attend a fair in one of the gyms. I have been to conference events, department team-building days, student organization events, and much more on all four campuses. Compared to many other universities, all four of the SDFC locations are state of the art and really set up students to be healthy. I certainly recommend SDFC membership to all ASU students, staff, faculty, and alumni!

The staff is extremely friendly, welcoming me in without making ithe interaction of checking in awkward or forced. There is not a ton of equipment, but they have a large variety and I am usually able to find an easy substitute if anything is busy. The outdoor gym addition is always an option too, and they added fans and shading to make it accessible in the summer. The outdoor basketball half court is a huge plus, and they just added another water filling station upstairs. I also really enjoy the free strength and mobility classes held by Audrey on Saturdays for members. -- Go to this!!!! My flexibility has increased tremendously! They play good music and the staff has a genuine concern for the member experience, especially Audrey, Alex, and Sydney! PLUS: They bring in vendors - I have gotten a free tub of protein powder, free protein treats and smoothies, and a free stretch session! Also, most people wipe down equipment after use! I have tried the personal training with three trainers. I liked it for the most part, and definitely saw positive results. My negatives are that this is an influencer gym, and some members can take over a ton of space trying to get the perfect shot or video; I have had issues with their parking system and got an expensive ticket (the system seems to have been resolved in the last few weeks); and the water stations can sometimes be broken (member caused). With all that said I'd recommend TC in a heartbeat! I also love that this is locally owned and operated! I've tried EoS, MountainSide, Planet Fitness, YouFit, LA, True Althletic, Sports Club at City Square, and Jab in the Valley in the last 10 years. The staff member was friendly and helpful, but when I mentioned I was visiting from out of state, she told me that the pass is only for Arizona residents. This small little detail is NOWHERE to be found on their website. If I had known, I wouldn't have come in the first place. This was misleading, and I wish the website had said that it was for residents only. I already made the trip there and was in a situation so I ended up paying for the day pass. Not happy about it.
