Had brunch plans with my girls on a Saturday back in August. Our plans got changed and we decided to revamp and stopped @ Cozy Corner. Neither of us, was very hungry or had been to CC previously. I came in to sit and there were multiple empty tables. My friend and I sat at one and we were told we can't sit any of those tables because the parties sitting at them were outside smoking (even though there were only three people smoking outside) and they definitely were not holding up three tables between themselves. "Satisfied" is the adjective here. The state of being "still" where you are. And thanks Yelpers for sharing this feeling, having now felt it for myself. I'm satisfied. How did I get to such a coveted and glorious state? My guide was Jelka behind the bar. There were maybe 7 patrons in the bar on a Tuesday around 5pm. She immediately inquired about my needs and we struck up a conversation. Feeling welcome in a foreign situation: check. The music and lighting is low and comforting. The music has been on point all night. A mixture of classic and contemporary bangers that saturate you with the need to "chill". The patrons are definitely part of the backdrop. I met Victor, whose wife advocates to save the Planet by recycling wasted fashion produces. I met Ken a retired music teacher, who loves the complexity in music as much as I do. Then the food. I know... it's a bar. But there is where you are misguided my dear friend. The salmon. I gave a BigUp to my fellow Yelpers for this. The salmon didn't disappoint. It was juicy and "not slimey" at all. But the mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful. The asparagus was really good as well, eye-popping. read more

The Server (wish I got her name!) came to our table and dropped off menus. We ordered mozzarella sticks, salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus, a cozy burger with fries, and chicken Parmesan with mashed potatoes, and a blueberry mimosa. (Extreme thanks to the server for making the drink, I did not realize it was a brunch only drink, but she still made it for me since she had the ingredients (her words) and didn't mind). The Cozy Corner truly lives up to it's name. This is a locals bar. This is the kinda place where neighbors hang out and don't feel the pressures of being "cool" or "hip". This is the real NY. Real New Yorkers are like family. Anna is one of my fave bartenders here. She mentioned last weekend that they would be open on Christmas Eve. Since my friend hates the holiday and I only had plans for Christmas I knew it would be a perfect spot to have some drinks and have a little fun before the holiday. On Fridays and Saturdays you can get your grub on with a free slice of pizza with your first beverage. It's cash only during the weekend but the ATM is only dollar for the transaction. Not too shabby at all. The bar itself is huge but because of the times we all have to be outside. The Cozy Corner has one of the best winter set ups. They have a super long plastic seating area with heat lamps. The tables are spaced apart and I can feel the heat. You order your first drink inside and then Anna checks in on you and you can continue to get some rounds. She's truly a sweetheart. When we were here the neighboring tables all wanted to chat. It was a riot. That's kinda of what I miss during the holidays. I've lived around the corner from this place for decades! In that whole time, my FIRST time patronizing the new Cozy Corner was only last Saturday! Man, I've been missing out for so long!!! What a shame. Came here Saturday after seeing a show a few blocks away. It was the only place open at the time. We wanted food and drinks and we knew they served food. I've always heard good things about their pizza since they rebranded and started having pizza served. This was a VERY old-school local bar back when I moved here in the 80s. A few years ago they revamped the place and I'm very impressed. During the height of COVID-19, they constructed a huge outdoor seating area. They also have lots of seating inside, too! Two separate bars, about 5-6 tables with 4 chairs each, and this cute little raised seating area with different kinds of chairs in the back by the other bar. Everything is clean and sleek. They don't have actual menus so you have to scan a QR code to see what you want. On weekends the kitchen stays open until 1:30 AM so we lucked out! We ordered a large pie with red onions and mushrooms. Also got the Corner Gin Fizzy (Gin, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Seltzer). It was very crisp and refreshing. I just stuck with that the whole night. You order at the bar and then they bring you your food to wherever you're sitting. Took maybe about 15-20 minutes for the pizza to come out. I'm kind of a pizza snob so I was excited to try this one out. It was a pretty damn fantastic pizza. They were light with the mozzarella. I usually like a heavy hand with mozzarella but I didn't mind this! The sauce was tasty. The toppings were fresh and not canned. The crust was thin and perfect. At first, I thought how only 2 people will finish a large pie but embarrassingly enough, we did! That's how good it was. Service was always friendly. The cook saw that we didn't have any plates so he came out from the kitchen to bring us some. The female bartender was very nice and kept bringing our drinks tableside. In between the male and female bathrooms, they have a display with so many good games. They have Cards Against Humanity!!!! Big screen t.v.'s playing sports at each bar. My favorite thing about this place though is the jukebox!! The best jukebox I've ever encountered. It's digital and you can pay with a credit/debit card. $1 gives you 2 credits good for 1 song. It has any song by any artist ever created!!! I was playing such an amalgamation of songs the whole night. I'm sure some people left because of it! That jukebox is freaking addicting!! They have an ATM on site that only charges a $1 fee. I'm SO glad that I finally gave this place a visit. I know I'll be back for more! read more

Here I am in Ridgewood looking for a place to have lunch. I ask a woman in the street and she says that place over there. So in I go. A lovely female bartender says sit wherever you like I take a spot inside. The bar is really nice with a vintage feel. Tin ceiling with old hanging chandelier An authentic, old time place, if the walls could only talk? At her suggestion I order a glass of Merlot. Wow smooth and delicious. I then order the roast Turkey which is absolutely the best It's with sautéed peppers and mozzarella slices on lightly toasted sourdough bread. We came here after a funeral. The vibe was good the music was old school which I loved. The food was a bit lack luster to be honest. We were forced to start a tab or pay for t he food we ordered before we got it. Which I did not like. Had to go to the bar to even put in an order. The serve didn't even turn on the heaters for the outdoor seating for us just said it was there. I've been meaning to try this place for some time. As it turned out, I should have waited longer. I stopped in just before 2:30 this afternoon. According to their posted hours, they opened at 2:00 today. I walked in and there was not a soul in the place except for the bartender and nobody sitting outside either. I placed my umbrella on a table as I wanted to sit inside, since it was 40 degrees outside and had just stopped raining. The bartender, a pretty blonde woman, said they weren't yet set up for indoor customers but I could sit outside if I wanted. I was also told it was cash only. I would have STRONGLY preferred to sit inside but I don't mind the cold so I asked for a vodka and cranberry. I paid for the drink and went outside to sit. Now, one of the things this place is known for is customers getting a free slice of pizza with their first drink. No slice of pizza was offered, nor was any given to me and I was outside for 30 minutes with my drink. I have to admit the drink itself was pretty good. Not too strong and not too weak. But, that didn't make this visit worth my time or money. One would think that on a lousy day and nobody in your establishment, the bartender would do everything possible to make the only customer feel welcome. I thought that. I was wrong. Definitely a fan! I chilled at this bar while waiting for some friends and it ended up exceeding expectations. The bartender that I interacted with was super nice! She only works once a week which sucks, but she was kind and did her best to get me what I wanted. Cons: Very rude male bartenders, they charge more for credit cards, wildly inconsistent cocktails (made incorrectly or differently EVERY time), advertise free pizza with a drink but now suddenly not allowed if you buy a domestic beer, which is really frustrating how they changed it out of nowhere for a dollar difference? Weird way to base your entire marketing on free pizza and then add stipulations out of nowhere a year later. I say this with peace and love with the hopes that they will improve, but this place has the worst bar food in the neighborhood. The pizza is pretty good as long as you don't get any toppings because they kind of just throw them on top without baking them in. Awful brunch though. Dry sandwiches. It's run by petty people with bad attitudes who'd rather belittle people anonymously than accept feedback and improve their business. The service is not only poor but incompetent. I walked in here on a cold February day to escape the elements and continue a first date I was on. We were met with incredibly kind service, great drinks, and phenomenal wings. We sat for hours talking and when I needed to make a move and play a song, the bar tender was kind enough to let me play it. A year and a half later, my now fiancé and I poetically walked in for our engagement party where we were again greeted by an incredibly accommodating manager, friendly and generous owner, and and overall lovely neighborhood experience. I will be coming to this homey bar on the corner for as long as they exist. They are now an integral part of my story and they helped make dreams a reality. Cozy corner used to be my go to bar for it's atmosphere and good food but things recently have taken a turn for the worst. I don't see the senior staff anymore that used to offer good/fast service. If you want slow service this is the place to go. I hope they rehire the past staff and give them all a salary increase. read more

Went here for a late night dinner with a friend. Drinks: Bartender was great! He even made a drink for us that wasn't on the menu, super nice and overall great experience at the bar. Cozy Burger; this burger was huge! A lot bigger than I was expecting and extremely delicious. This is the type of burger that will leave you in a food coma. I also had the salad which was sensational; fresh Ingredients and generously portioned. French fries were good and crispy. Wings were NOT good, hardly any flavor. Nice atmosphere and nice enough bartender that was training. Outdoor area was well done. Steak was literally the worst steak I've ever head in my life. $28 for a rib eye ordered medium rare and it came hard, dark, and cooked through and what seems like either freezer burn or spoilage. I probably should have just returned it, had a few bites before I couldn't stomach it And just gave up. Chicken tenders were salty but serviceable, salmon seemed ok. Should probably just stick with drinks and maybe pizza. read more
