It's a nice little spot for a brunch! We got here around 9:30 on a Sunday and the place was packed! We stood awkwardly in the doorway for a few minutes without anyone saying anything to us which was the only drawback of the experience. I don't mind waiting but I would like to at least be acknowledged when I arrive. When we got seated we were very quickly helped and our drinks arrived within a minute. We chose to brunch at Cozy Corner based on the many reviews referencing good food, big portions, affordable prices. The location is on a corner as the name suggests. We did not notice there was a parking lot in the back, but there was plenty of free street parking right across the street. We arrived close to noon on Sunday, one other lady arrived before us and was waiting to be seated. Or so we thought. We all stood there, by this time two other groups arrive and not a single staff member even looks at us, let alone address us. My wife asked the ladies since they seemed like regulars and she could not remember if we seated ourselves, so we waited. I do have to mention, they have a platter of tiny baked goods for anyone to enjoy for free, by the door. Finally, a gentleman approaches, (later on I discover he is the owner's son), I ask him and he says we can choose anywhere we wanted to sit. I say, "look around, there is nowhere to sit and someone has to direct the traffic", his mother comes over, asks us all how many in our party, we explain and finally after almost 15mins of no acknowledgment we sit. It took another 5mins and we had to ask, to get menus. The owner's son is our server, I ordered a sausage & cheese omelet with home fries, home fries which by the way, to my glee, had no onions. My wife ordered a spinach omelet with swiss cheese and home fries. Both with a side of wheat toast. Drinks, coffee, and large apple juice. It took 25mins and my wife asking, for us to get our food. It was served piping hot, but I noticed immediately the brown marks indicative of an overcooked egg on my wifes omelet and she dislikes overcooked egg. My sausage omelet was really good, I guess because of the type of sausage. It was crumbled sausage with great flavor. Because we had read the previous review about an excessive amount of cheese, we asked, light on the cheese & it was the right amount. My wifes omelet, so overcooked the egg tasted dry and tasteless. The spinach was fine, the cheese also but she could not finish it. The toast, if it was wheat, it did not look or taste like it. The apple juice was not the greatest but I drank some. My wife mentioned the coffee was so watery that it tasted like tea. The price, good, affordable and fair. When he came by to pick up the check he explained that they were down to servers and not expecting such a crowd. This place is a bit shabby, run down, and yep - like the Twilight Zone as Maria said. But for me, that is my absolute favorite ride at Disney so I went with it. Having my grandparents come from Miami Springs and it reminding me so much of my childhood, the Cozy Corner fell immediately in to place. Wrong decade, prices WAY too cheap, old-fashioned diner. Food was exceptionally tasty for breakfast at a mere $2.75. It included one perfectly fried egg, 4 pieces of buttered toast, and a huge pile of salty hash browns. Yum, just what I needed on my way to a funeral. But to make it even better, one of the absolute best Cafe Con Leches I have ever had the pleasure to taste. Overly sweet with the right amount of "fuerte" flavor. So yes, it could use some revamping and remodeling, but when it reminds me of my childhood and grandparents, and the food was tastier than the fancy meal I had for dinner the night before at a 20x increase in price, I'd take this any day. read more

An all american diner, this place brings me back to old days when you could order grits and there was american paraphernalia everywhere. I bring most of my friends from out of town here because it's exactly like the American diners you see in the movies. The food is pretty good too -- never have had any complaints. The service is always wonderful. The owner is the nicest old woman and I always get really great servers. The milk shakes are yummy and my favorite thing is ALWAYS the pancakes. This is your classic diner food. My family likes it cause it's quick and simple and they serve a solid cup of coffee. We usually head here if we want a weekday breakfast or if the brunch wait at Crackers on Sunday is too long. I always get the Country Girl which is great. The french toast is really good. I do wish they had turkey sausage as a sub for the regular kind, however. I have had to wait a little too long for drinks or coffee refills a couple times and am sometimes not sure who my server even is. Even so, the food here is consistent and casual and priced reasonably. It's your classic simple diner. If you're someone who needs very attentive service and pretty plating, it is not for you. read more

Did you ever just want some nice, real down-home cooking without driving all the way to Loxahatchie or Stuart? Who knew there was a perfect small-town style diner just 5 minutes from downtown? It does not have terrible parking. It does not have rude waitresses or long waits. And, it does not overcharge for mediocre food. The Cozy is a classic, old-school, family-owned diner. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the service is quick and accurate. The place is decorated with hundreds of Coca-Cola memorabilia which made a lot of sense until recently, when they switched to serving Pepsi. I love it. The food is great. Its cheap and tasty and you can choose from all types of diner classics, from juicy burgers to a french dip sandwich that's out of this world. They also have the meanest apple pie a la mode. It's one of the few items I order without any consideration as to whether or not I'm still hungry. Overall its a great place and I always feel great supporting small business. While driving the border between Hialeah and Miami Springs very early on Saturday morning, came across Cozy Corner on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Miami Springs is like taking a step back in time and the theme continues once you step inside the diner. At first I didn't know if I should stay or find somewhere else, but in the end it stuck it out. And guess what, breakfast was good! Best part was that it wasn't too salty or too greasy! If you're in the area for breakfast I'd give it a try. Personally, not something I would go out of my way for. Didn't realize until after I left that they have a free "danish bar" on Saturdays and Sundays with a meal purchase. I go there for coffee..because I don't want to give Starbucks my money for burnt water...when I drink coffee I drink it straight up black and with some sugar. It's no Waffle House..that's for sure. But, you get somewhat of a glimpse of what towns in Miami were like before patches of green were obliterated and made into strip malls and freeways..a la "My City Was Gone" Well anyways I was sitting at the diner counter and looking through the mirror on the wall that looked out onto Westward I swear I saw the old county bus from the 60's..but then looking out I was assured the metrobus was there...looked back in the window and girls were running by with hobby horses and western hats...while mom in her 1960's perm and clam diggers tells her kids to slow down..look back out and a kid dressed in a Kenneth Cole button up is listening to his IPOD This place can administer an effect on you.....after sitting there and drinking coffee for awhile. Dont recommend is not what it used to be. I ordered potatoes with.my breakfast and they were burnt. The prices are good but I want presentable food for the prize . I rather pat more and have good food . The pancakes had black stuff on them from griddle. So drove down to Crackers and they were closed for a week :(. So checked out cozy corner. Came in and the only table available was one in the corner. Really broken and terribly wobbly. But we we hungry and dealt with it. Food was average but service was not good.. Waited for my coffee refill for like 15 min even after I asked!? Then when I tried to pay my bill our waitress kept going on her phone while my check sat with my card for what seemed like forever. This place has a real diner like ambiance and the service is OK. They were pretty busy when we arrived, so our food took some time to be brought out. Two of my co workers ordered the chili and they both agreed that it was really good. I will have to try it the next time I visit. I ordered the grilled turkey bacon and Swiss hot sandwich. The sandwich was good but the turkey was a bit dry and the bacon was crispy. I personally like my bacon that way, but that's not everyone's preference. I did request some mayo on the side to add to the sandwich. This made the sandwich much better considering the turkey was a bit dry. Miami is full of Cuban-American breakfast places which are great but to find an all-American diner is always a treat. The decor is older as to be expected. They really play on the airport tradition of Miami Springs when the first residents were mainly pilots and flight attendants. I liked the touch. The booths are big which gives you room to spread out. I'm a huge fan of breakfast. I can eat it all day, every day, at all hours. it's good to wake up to. It's good to go to sleep from. And it's especially good for hangovers. On such days (hangover days obviously) nothing tastes better than an Eggs Benedict from Cozy Corner. I will say this, sometimes the taste varies depending the cook, but I'm always pleased. I wish I could be more helpful and tell you that their xxxx is good. Or that the xxx comes too burnt sometimes, however all I know from there are the eggs benedict. Sorry kids.
