We ordered them to go, and they were kind enough to include paper plates for the picnic we had planned later, which was a really nice touch. Everyone was also really friendly and greeted us when we walked in, which made the experience even better. It took about 10 minutes for them to make everything. I don't even know why I thought running in here for a few things after a long business trip would be easier and more peaceful than just going to Safeway. I was just tired and not thinking I guess. I needed lettuce for my bunny, Kambutcha, and decided to grab some hard ciders for me and Bud light for my husband. I get to the register where the cashier is already being rude to an elderly lady who questioned why milk was $9 a gallon. Honesty I was curious myself. The cashier pretty much shoved the receipt at the lady and turned to me. I saw the nice lady bagging asking if she can help the other lady find a different milk like the Raley's one that is on sale. Anyways back to me. She asks for my ID, I can't find it and tell her "sorry, my child keeps dumping my wallet out and I can't find it" she then says "well I can't sell it to you then!" in the rudest most condescending matter of fact way. I say "yeah I know, no problem" and she continues to be rude to me and act as if I did something wrong or was trying to scam her. Like sorry I forgot my ID and that ruined your night. Then after I pay and go to leave she cheerfully asks the young man behind me who was clearly younger than me "date of birth?!" Smiling and said it extra loud so I could hear. I don't know maybe she recognized me from a bad situation I don't remember? Maybe she hates women? Whatever it was, even if you're not an overall nice person try some professionalism while at work or stay home! Plenty of people need jobs these days why do we still have to deal with crappy customer service when you can get someone who wants to work? I know some of you are probably like oh she just mad she didn't get her way but I can guarantee this is not that, this is all about the gross way I was treated as a paying customer. This same situation happened to me at Safeway about a month ago and I gave that person/ store 4 stores bc she was very nice about it and even apologized even though it wasn't her fault I couldn't find my ID. Ok so a couple of months ago I had got sick. When I was finally feeling better I had gone grocery shopping and put the bags in my car and saw the sign for Port of Subs. It was about 6:55pm. My next brilliant idea was to walk rather than to drive across the parking lot. Little did I know the places closes at 7pm On entry there was a woman assisting another woman with her order. They had both looked up when I entered and I had just noticed the closing time and now it was 7:01. The employee, whose name is Amnise (sp), looked like she wanted to turn me away - at first. I explain my situation and how the only thing that sounded remotely appetizing was these dang sandwiches and Amnise says it's fine for me to stay and she will take my order. Amnise was so kind and sweet and accommodating it was refreshing to see and receive amazing customer service. She had every right to turn me away. I'm sure she has a family that is waiting on her to come home from work. That was the most amazing sandwich I'd had in a really really long time. Next time I came in I met Peter who I believe to be her boss and made sure to give credit to Amnise for her amazing customer service.

Using a low grade turkey that exudes water like a broken faucet doesn't treat the bread properly. In the mornings, I would often stop by for a bacon, egg and cheese croissant -- mouth-watering and so much better than any fare offered by the chain restaurants. For lunch, I would frequently order a fresh deli sandwich, a side salad, a drink and chips. I was amazed at the constant flow of hungry patrons coming in and out, most of whom were drawn by the sandwiches. I'm also impressed by the sandwich makers who at high noon are working faster than june bugs jumping around in a chicken coop. Their home made chili deserves props as well. On a cold winter day, there's nothing quite like a large serving of chili, pilled high with chopped onions and melted cheese. Yummy!
