I've been here twice so far, and both times I've been extremely satisfied. My first visit I got a pedicure and shellac manicure, and my second visit was just polish change for both. First trip, they worked on my manicure and pedicure at the same time, and were so thorough, I felt bad for how long they were spending on me. My manicure lasted probably 2 weeks, and the only reason it wasn't longer was because my nails grow too quickly. The second trip, about 1.5 months later, my toenails still looked almost perfect from the first trip. Their polish change prices are so reasonable and their service is awesome. They're pretty busy so I'd try to make an appointment, I wish I found this place sooner, but this is my new go-to place! read more

It's unfortunate that Yelp doesn't allow an option to leave a zero star review. I found CP Nails when I was on a time crunch and needed a manicure during my lunch hour at work, and the first few trips my nails turned out great and I was convinced I'd never go anywhere else. I had even been previously recommending them to my friends over the last few months. Unfortunately I will now be doing the opposite. I went to CP Nails on Saturday for a pedicure in an attempt to relax after a long week. During my pedicure my technician made me bleed not one, but twice - even after I had asked her multiple times to lay off my cuticles so that I wouldn't get an infection. Lo and behold, my toe continues to turn increasingly red in the few days that followed, to the point that I now had to go to a doctor to have it lanced, and am on 2,000 mg of antibiotics (500 mg 4x a day) in an attempt to lessen the infection. Shit happens and I understand that, but where they really lost me was when I called in to discuss the fact that I've now had to pay for doctor's visits, medications, all directly correlated to the services they've provided and when I asked for a refund for the service - they refused, told me that maybe I was confused and that maybe I had actualy gotten them done elsewhere, and then told me that I'd have to come in (even designating what TIME I should make a trip out of my way over there to show them my foot in real life). I'm sure they're very busy, and I've been inconvenienced more than enough by now, so I figured it's probably more convenient for both parties if I just post the photos from my week here. read more

I came in for the first time today for a shellac manicure and eyebrow wax. My experience was pretty mediocre. I got a "dragon eye" (#9) gel mani and the girl who helped me didn't talk to me at all. Not even a hello. Just kept her head down and did her job. Which was okay, I don't like to talk a whole lot but a "thank you" or a "hi/bye" would have been cool, especially since I did try to be polite with her. Maybe it was a language barrier, though. As for the eyebrow wax, I was a bit concerned because she didn't even replace the table's paper covering which had clearly been used before I got there (there was a rip and mud stains on it from someone's shoes...). Then the second I laid down, she began putting the wax on. No alcohol or cleaning the area, no powder before/after. Just wax. That's it. My total was $40 even. Personally, I won't be coming here again. The customer service was far below par, and I feel like I can get more bang for my buck somewhere else. read more

Service is quite good. The hand and foot massages feel amazing. They offer a wide variety of colors and types of treatments. I have had pedicures and manicures here. The pedicures involve a wonderful-smelling scrub on the legs and an incredibly relaxing massage. The seats for the pedicures also have massagers built into the back. For my manicures, I use dipping powder. While the powder takes a little longer to do, it lasts about six weeks for me, so it is very worth the extra ten minutes. read more

CK Nails has never disappointed! Although it's a smaller salon, their work is always quality. It's close to UofM's campus, which is a convenient short drive for me. They stayed after hours on my last visit when I came in with a severely broken natural nail that took a bit longer than anticipated to repair... But they fixed it and gave me back the function of my dominant hand's thumb!! :) Not only that, but I received a fabulous manicure with their new magnetic color-changing (with temperature) polish. This place is actually called Ann Arbor Nails. I have never given one star to a nail salon. The massage part of pedicure was nice, but there were 3-4 people doing different parts of service so weirdly disjointed service. They forgot the top coat so I asked them and they claimed they already did it(same thing happened to my friend next to me). I have NEVER in my life seen them put on nail polish so fast. The french mani I got done was squiggly/had errors, and the base was so clear u could see everything underneath. Also has air bubbles in the base that are pretty noticeable. Removal of my previous gel nails was done aggressively, causing pain and weakened my nails (soaking them in acetone is a better way to remove them than ripping them off in terms of avoiding damaged nails). Cuticles dont get touched up unless you pay an extra fee, which is something usually included at other salons I've been to. Definitely feel like I wasted $45 for a mediocre gel mani I'm stuck with for 2 weeks. That being said, Tracy is great. If you come here definitely make sure to see only her. read more

My friend and I went in for pedicures and she got a fill in around 1 PM on a Saturday. We were sat immediately and serviced. They use individually wrapped implements and sap liners. This place is clean and organized. The service, however, is not guaranteed to be nice and equal to anyone who comes in. When I entered, everyone was sitting on their phones. I came in with a smile and looking around to see who was going to help me, as I'd never been there before. Still sitting, a woman told me to pick a color once I said hello. No one greeted me. Everyone was still sitting. I turned around and figured out who was helping me by her being the only one setting up a pedicure bowl. I tried not to think this was a race thing, but three more things happened. 1. The person doing my pedicure got up to look at the woman's phone who told me to pick a color during my service. 2. When a white woman entered, the woman who stayed seated when telling me to pick a color got up, greeted the woman, asked her what service she was getting, and then told her to get a color. 3. When I was asked if the color was okay, I said yes. I wanted to clarify, though, that she didn't think I didn't want a second coat, so I asked, did you mean did I want a second coat, or if I liked the color? She then, very rudely raised her voice and repeated the question as if me asking for clarity was an issue. 4. There's actually a fourth... I was never asked which pedicure I wanted or given a choice; it was assumed that I wanted the cheapest one. It was not until I asked that I was given an option. To answer your question, yes, the white woman who came in after me was asked and given the price list. I gave two stars because the pedicure itself was decent, but the service was not and I will not be back. Treat all your guests the same. I'm a big tipper because I have worked in service industries myself, but I will NOT accept rude or crappy service because of assumptions made about me because of the color or my skin. read more

Comparably​ to other nails salons in the area who offer dip nails at the same price, CP, unfortunately,​ doesn't cut it for me. Forgive me for not using proper terminology, but after the dipping was done, my nail technician didn't sand out my nails using an electric tool. Instead, it was done using a cheap buffer you can buy at the grocery store. A couple of nails broke in a couple of weeks, which has never happened during my history of getting dip nails; my dip nails remain chipless even after a month of having them on. read more

I've been coming here since it was CK Nails, but honestly I think that CP Nails is a big improvement. The ladies in here are so nice and really want to make their clients happy and comfortable and continuously go above and beyond, and of course the work is amazing. Today I came in to get a pedi and chose a dark blue (for U of M of course!) and my nail technician offered to put a block M on my big toe which obviously I couldn't refuse. My acrylics are also always on fleek. I get asked frequently where I get my nails done and will happily let everyone know that CP Nails is the place to go. I was so excited to get my nails done in this dark blue, but they did t have the blue I wanted so I had to change the color. I had a WONDERFUL experience here getting a Brazilian wax. I'm not the kind of gal to get a pedicure, so I will speak from the waxing side of things. I wish I had the name of the expert woman who worked with me to give her kudos. My surroundings were sanitary, pleasant, and modern. My Waxlady was quick, methodical, and VERY thorough- which is something you definitely want with this type of procedure. I gotta say it was much better than Pamela's and Bellanina Day Spa- not that those places were bad, CK's was just more thorough, and was definitely more proactive in utilizing positions and leverage (like having me make sure skin was taut) to make sure it was perfect. My Waxlady definitely knew what she was doing! Another bonus: you get 20% off on your first treatment/service, which is no small potatoes! I will assuredly be back in eight weeks. read more

Great place! Just had my second set of NexGen nails done and loved it! I love the look and feel of them and the added vitamins in the powder is a great plus! The employees are very kind and do an excellent job. My NexGen nails with acrylic tips was only $35! I don't feel as if I'm being taken advantage of money-wise and there aren't any hidden extra fees like having an add-on for acrylic tips. I walked in to a bunch of people just sitting around in no particular locations, with no one behind the front desk so I just sort of looked around the room at everyone until a lady with a baby on her lap finally asked what I was there for. I'm aware that this is just me being overly self-conscious, but I really disliked the fact that I then basically had to announce to all of them that I was there for an upper lip wax. Any other place, I can just tell the lady at the front desk and be done with it! So a lady took me in a back room and gave me the wax. I had read in the reviews that people have mentioned that they never double dip when waxing here, but... this lady used the same stick the whole time, so it must really depend who is doing your waxing. My friend and I both got a shellac manicure done here, and we were both disappointed with the results. When she was filing my nail, the technician was filing the sides down to give it a more square shape but failed to realize she was filing my skin to the point where I had to pull my hand away. So, my skin was left red and raw. There were also a lot of fuzzies in my shellac manicure afterwards. I've only had my manicure on for less than a week and the sides are already starting to peel a little bit. My friend also had a lot of fuzzies in her shellac manicure and one of the more experienced technicians had to switch with her original technician mid-manicure because her nails looked so bad. I don't get my nails done often and my nails are not the longest or strongest. I went in for a manicure wanting gel (Shellac). I made an appointment at 1:30 and showed up a little early. They jumped right up and showed me to the massive color selection so I could pick my polish. By the time I finished, they were ready for me. I have never had someone be more meticulous with shaping my nails and cuticles. The manicure never felt rushed and she did an amazing job with my nails. They look incredible! 1. the air inside is not at all ventilated. While waiting for my wife, I couldn't even stand 2 minutes in there, so waited for her in my car. 2. not the most sanitary place per wife. 3. THE WORST THING: the man doing the manicure seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. He actually cut her pinky finger with the nail cutter. She bled for about 5 minutes and it continued to ooze for another 20 minutes. They didn't even offer to give her the manicure for free! Rather than cause a scene, we just opted to get the hell out of there after her nails dried. 4. LEARN FROM OUR LESSON. Avoid this place and don't be lured in by their cheap prices. Today was the first time I had a Brazilian before and it was great! I have experienced a French bikini wax, which is pretty darn close, but was fearful of going all the way. Camilla is the lady that did my brazilian and she was very efficient. I was surprised how quick it took her. I can't say it was painless, obviously, but it wasn't as bad as it could be. When I had my French done the lady used a towel to cover the goods, Camilla didn't do that but what is the point? If you don't want the goods shown, don't get a brazilian. I came here and got my lashes done and a full set. I was hoping just to get a lash fill but she said that half of the lashes were gone on one side and did them for 85. She put lashes too close to my inner lid and it kept feeling like something was in my eye. They also didn't last that long, The glue was hard and clumpy.
