I was killing time before my flight so wanted to find a coffee shop. This is in a small strip center so plenty of parking. There was plenty of seating inside. I ordered an iced coffee with hazelnut flavor and a breakfast sandwich - sausage egg and cheese on a biscuit. They have a ton of flavors for coffee. I saw cinnamon after I sat down and waited for my sandwich. Ahhh! Not many places have that flavor. Coffee was good. The biscuit was just okay. The sausage was definitely the star of the sandwich. Sundays are my "Coffee Time", just me, in search of the next great coffee recommendation. I had been to several coffee shops over the last couple months and had not been back to Corporal Ray's. Yesterday I headed back with hopes that nothing had changed and the coffee was still top shelf with service to match. BOY WAS I SHOCKED!! The young lady behind the counter, Amber, was the very definition of customer service with a smile. Sweet, courteous, clarifying every drink we requested to ensure accuracy, and very appreciative of the tip I could muster from the cash I had left over. Then she went to work, I forget what my friends ordered. The important thing here is that Amber had my Sugar Free Vanilla Latte - Iced, out in record time, and IT WAS OVER THE TOP YUMMY GOOD!! We love coming to this location especially on date night. I've found the drinks to be more consistent than the one in Midland. My husband and I drove this evening to get our usual drinks but in good old West Texas fashion, poor business practices and subpar food service culture strikes again. Unfortunately, the hours for this location apparently were changed from the typical 10 pm closure to 9 pm which we learned after driving 25 minutes then deciding to give them a call to see what happened. This isn't really a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but unfortunately poor business practices is just a Permian Basin thing. I'm from California and things like this are incredibly rare because businesses COMMUNICATE with their customers by means of social media or hell even a sign on the door. Apparently, their manager is "getting around" to it. When I first moved here, things like this would really annoy me, now I just realize most businesses don't care because they figure there is so much money here and people are willing to pay it. I'm just not that way so if I come back it will be quite some time because I will truly never understand the incompetence. read more

Moved here from Las Vegas and have been here twice. Both times the iced coffees were delicious. Doesn't have that bitter taste like Starbucks has. The Ray rays mocha is my favorite but pictured is an iced vanilla latte. If you are military or spouse with a card they give you 20% off total. Slightly slow in service when it gets busy but the coffee is worth it. It's also down the street from my house which makes it a win win for me. They also serve teas, Italian sodas, and a small amount of pastries. read more

I stop in every time I'm passing through town! They use the safe to save program and I love the free drinks! On this visit I got an iced ray ray and my husband an iced vanilla latte. We had to wait a little bit for our order but they were busy with the drive thru. The inside is quiet and clean and feels very small town. Our drinks were tasty, as usual! Sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Mine was a little more milky than usual but otherwise a great pick me up! read more

CPL is my place to go every morning before work. Coffee and staff are great. Yet recently I've been taken care of by an unfamiliar face. Amber is very rude, talks back to you as you are ordering. I felt disrespected. I had asked her nicely to redo a drink that I had ordered for one of my sisters. She took it back aggressively with the stink eye, once given back to me it was all messy and wet. The drink was still not the proper drink I wanted. I then told her it was ok. She then slams the drive thru door at my face as she rolls her eyes at me. Honestly this place is great... but Amber's communication skills and work ethic is not good. Highly disappointed. read more

I moved to West TX five years ago and Cpl Ray's has been my home away from home! It is the sweetest coffee shop in Odessa. They have a hidden menu that I like to dive into. The staff is wonderful! Great place to hang out or get work done. My favorite is the Iced Vanilla Latte, but if you're interested in something hot, the Chai Latte is a solid option. We enjoyed the ambiance of the coffee house and really appreciate having a local small business to support. Sadly the lady at the counter has been complaining loudly and non-stop to her coworker about her personal issues and it has been going on for 30 minutes. It is so loud that it resonates in the otherwise quiet coffee house and it is a lot of negativity that takes a drain on my and my husband's attention and mood. Faudree Location: They can't seem to consistently get a order right. I only go there once or twice a week and most of the time its a disappointment. When they do get the order right, the coffee is great, but they are not consistent. They screw the order up even if its not coffee. Ive asked for croissants, and then i get a biscuit. Once the coffee didn't come out hot, as if it was pre made and sitting on the counter for 20 minutes. The next day i went up there to get another coffee and let them know about there mistake and they argues with me about it. Other annoyance is that their intercome has been broke since I've been going there. The drive through line takes forever. And they have poor customer service. Not sure when ill be going back. As many locals know there is plenty of Mexican food in this area. We decided to try this & took the time to go in. We absolutely loved the ambience the tribute to Cpl. Ray! Thank all of our men & women who serve. We each tried a croissant. I had the sausage, egg, cheese croissant. The sausage was seasoned just right. As was the food temperature. The croissant was light & fluffy. Definitely nicely done, I consumed the entire croissant. My Fiancé had the ham, cheese & egg croissant. Nicely done however not as filling as the sausage. The ham was thinly sliced. No complaints. Now the Cpl. Ray Iced Moccha, literally is smooth to the tastebuds! Overall, this boutique coffee house give any other coffee joint a run for business.
