I have never been to a better nail salon - ever. i have lived New York, Manhattan, Europe, San Francisco Bay Area, after relocating TOPANGA canyon year eight months ago I had had the most suffering disappointments and unbelievable services, just barely anythung done or, I once left nail salon paid 60.00 nails no color. I stopped into CQ Nails after many places seemed closed on a holiday and had not only the greatest experience, but overlooked everyone else's in the salon. I'm horrible at choosing a color, and may have a certain color in mind / red, or certain lavender - Everytime I simply ask walk in, can you possibly suggest a great red or lavender , bring out the most beautiful perfect color , high quality. They do excellent work. I completely trust and willing to pay, and tip, for their work. It absolutely is equal to the value! Thank you. Painful... There are no tables/desk for manicures, only the big pedicure chairs which makes the manucure complicated because 1) the nail tech is not in front of you so you have to extend your arm and twist your back whenever they do your opposite hand and 2) they did not let me take my shoes so my feet were hanging on the side to avoir putting them in the bucket. I already had a set of Gel X and taking them out was so painful, I have never felt pain during that part but she only used the biggest bit and was pressing extremely hard on my nails which left a purple color at the basis of the nails. She cut the nails short but did not file them so now my real nail pokes out on the side of the gel X caps. (I tried to ask for filing but she did not understand my request) She also kept on putting the massage chair on which had those back punches and then get upset because my hand would move (I tried to stop the machine but she would turn it back on). The result doesn't look too bad but it's not clean, my nails and cuticles still hurt over 24h later and it feels very fragile. Since i live an hour away, i couldn't come right away. I came back to get this one nail done, this guy treated me like a terrorist. Cost-effective pricing for Gel X nails--loved the hot pink refill. I also appreciated the helpful tip about taking breaks to keep my nails natural and healthy after Gel X. The relaxing massage chairs made the experience even better. All the nail technicians were friendly, including David. Helen provided good service--one nail got slightly hurt from the machine she used, but she treated it with care and it healed well afterwards. I got a full set by the lead man working there and right after he finished they felt like they were lifting when I touched the tip but I thought maybe it's because they were longer than I normally get . But here they are 1 week later . They are lifted NO PRIMER to set the nails (maybe) . I called them told them I want compensation maybe half what I paid and he said NO REFUNDS . So , I will have my bank dispute it and get me a FULL REFUND . And they will . I used my bank card to pay PLUS gave $15 TIP. David is the rudest guy I ever met and the owner of this place!!!!!!!!! Stay away !!!!!!!!!!!!! I regret to say my experience here was deeply disappointing. I paid a premium price for acrylic nails, but they chipped within *hours* of leaving the salon. When I politely asked if they could be fixed, the technician refused to accommodate a time that worked for my schedule and instead became hostile, raising his voice and dismissing my concerns. It's unacceptable to charge high prices for low-quality work, then treat customers disrespectfully when they seek a resolution. I came here in a pinch since my normal place had closed early - I will not be going back. I got acrylic with gel over it because they had a very limited color selection for acrylic/dip and this was the closest we could get to the color I wanted. My pedicure was great! The man who did it was very attentive and I'm happy with the results. HOWEVER, I left almost in tears from my manicure. The nail tech who did them cut off my natural nails without asking (which were about as long as what you see in the photos). She then proceeded to leave and hand the job off to another tech. He came in to finish my nails and when doing my cuticles, cut and burnt almost every finger to the point where I couldn't put my hands under warm water afterwards because it hurt so bad. (Pics of cuts below). The nails were extremely thick and bubbled out, looked like I had already had them on for a week or two with how far they were from my cuticle, and some nails STILL turned out to be see through (pics below). On top of all of this, there was a drunk man in the salon who was harassing my friend and I the entire time - trying to get us to take shots of Svedka with him out of a bottle he had brought in. At one point, he even drunkenly tried to get us to be on FaceTime with his wife. Note: I am a very social person, but this behavior was extremely inappropriate and the employees did nothing to tame him - if anything they were encouraging it. Not what you want when you're trying to relax after a long day. FINALLY - my mani/pedi cost me $110. For a crappy nail job and unpleasant experience - save your money and go elsewhere. It's shocking to read the number of reviews here that actually involve practices that involve pain and low quality results...which is what they did to my daughter today. They burned her feet by leaving callus remover on for way too long, then when she explained that she was in pain even after they rinsed it, they're biggest concern was that they weren't going to get paid for the incomplete pedicure. Everyone is fortunate that my daughter spoke up before there was anymore damage done to her feet. Hours later her feet still hurt, they are red and one is very swollen. We will figure out who to pass this information along to... would recommend any other of the many many nail salons nearby. read more

I came to this spot specifically bc of the Yelp deal + the pictures of some of the work. None of those things happened as planned. The only saving grace here was the very nice lady that did my pedicure quickly and beautifully. After that it was not a good experience at all. It wasn't relaxing, easy, nor was I thrilled with the customer service. Jenny took three hours to give me a half ass full set and went back and forth between being rude and condescending, too completely ignoring what I was asking her! It was some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. After all of that... the lady doesn't honor the yelp deal. Saying it's yelps fault. Wrong! It's your fault as a business owner to clarify it. If your deal says ANY FULL set that doesn't mean Acrylics Full set only. If your deal is different then what's on Yelp, change it. My husband and I went in for pedicures. Added on all the extras blah blah blah. When they were cutting his nails he was in visible pain, not sure what they were doing to him. 2 weeks later he has an ingrown toenail and has never had that before. They literally split my toenail and tried to glue it so I wouldn't notice but that only lasted a couple days. Terrible terrible service. Literally anywhere else has to be better read more

Everyone is so lovely but I am not impressed with the nail job I received. My pedicure is a little sloppy and the gel X nails are even worse. Some of the nails are crooked and the underside of the nails are messy and chunky with excess glue and not smooth. The extensions were $55 and didn't include a basic manicure. They wanted to charge me for a manicure on top of the $55 paid. I also didn't like the technician trying to upsell me every 5 minutes. It felt like a car dealership when I was just trying to relax. Updated review: Over the last year, I had never had a bad experience until last month. Two people worked on my nails whom I hadn't seen before, so to be fair, they may have been new. A man in about his 50s (not the gentleman who usually sits at the front) did my pedicure, and a woman in her 50s did my manicure (I can't recall their names). They were as nice as can be, and gave great massages, which is why I'm giving them 3 stars, but the work on my nails was really bad! My fingernails: nails were filed different lengths (example: one pinky nail was filed short, while the other pinky nail was left long-- this was the case for most of my nails), and my nails were also filed in different shapes (some round, some square, some oval). My pedicure: lots of cuts (one was scabbed for two weeks and was very painful!), some nails were cut shorter than others, my big toes' nails were cut into two different shapes, nail polish was left on my skin, and the paint in general looked as if I did it myself blindfolded. I felt so bad about complaining because they're so nice, but I did kindly ask the woman if she could fix it. She removed some of the polish from my skin and added a top coat. The pics I've posted are my toes AFTER she "fixed" them. It wasn't a matter of them being too busy, I was their only customer on a Saturday afternoon. I just think the nail technicians were inexperienced. I'll try them again, but will kindly ask for different technicians. read more

Kim is great with acrylics. From oval, stiletto, round, square, to coffin shape. Anything you want, she makes it happen. Pedicures are not the greatest. They rush through your pedicures. You pay extra for callus remover, and the process they go through to scrub it off ends up leaving some areas of your foot rough. You don't get what you pay for ($$$). I personally just go to get my nails done with Kim, and I no longer get pedicures at this location. read more

PLEASE BE AWARE: THIS PLACE DOES NOT HIRE PROPERLY TRAINED PEOPLE WITH EXPERIENCE, WHILE ALSO NOT PRACTICING ANY KIND OF HYGIENE If I could give this place less than one star, I absolutely would. I've come here a few times to get pedicures and although they've never been amazing, they're close to my house so I didn't mind going here. Today I came in for a normal pedicure and made an appointment for seven, they didn't see me until 730, which was completely fine but no one said a single thing to me. I asked if I could get callus remover with my pedicure, so this guy puts the chemicals on my feet, he wraps it in saran wrap, and proceeds to do the rest of my pedicure while my feet are sitting on these chemicals. I didn't think about it, but after a while my feet started to burn and I couldn't figure out what was happening so I googled it as I was sitting there. Turns out.. callus remover chemicals aren't supposed to be on your feet for longer than five minutes, they left the stuff on my feet for at least 20 minutes. When I pointed out that my feet started to burn the manager immediately ran over and ripped the saran wrap off of my feet and started yelling at her employee to wash my feet off. I noticed that the burning didn't stop and when I looked at my feet they were completely irritated and my skin was peeling. It feels like an actual burn on the insides of both my feet, and when I called the manager(Jenny) over and explained why I couldn't pay for this pedicure because my feet were burned with chemicals, and I never actually got the callous remover done, she said OK and walked away because she knew that it was NOT GOOD for this man to leave my feet on these chemicals for that long. About five minutes later, the Jenny comes back up to me and says that the guy who is doing my toes will finish, and then I'm not allowed to come back. When I asked her why I wasn't allowed to come back, her and another one of her taller male employees began to get angry with me (not screaming but they were quite literally trying to shame me for not paying) and started asking me how I think the guy that burned my feet feels that he's not getting paid now. I proceeded to explain to them that my feet actually hurt and how the guy feels really wasn't my top priority, considering I was in the process of googling what to do when I get a chemical burn on both of my feet. They continue to both berate me about how their fellow employee feels about not getting money. I could see that it wasn't going to end well so I proceeded to stop the man who was continuing to finish painting my toes, I put my shoes on, picked my stuff up and started walking out. As I continue to walk to my car I realize that at least one of my feet was definitely burned. When I went back in to talk to them, the taller male employee there began to smirk and chuckle at me being upset about my feet and the fact that I was told I'm not allowed to come back there because they don't want to see me after they burned my feet. They continued to argue with me and my mother, blaming me for the way that they feel about not receiving $40 for a pedicure that they didn't finish, and caused harm in the process of. I have to say that I definitely got a chance to let them know how I feel and that it's not OK to do it to other people, but I have actual concerns that they don't care. I can't say that I've ever experienced anything like this, everything was pretty civil until I mentioned that I'm not going to pay for them burning my feet. read more

I went to this nail shop once a few months ago . The staff is much too rough . They do not move their chair to get to your arms or hands on the opposite side they are sitting on. They tugged and pulled on my arms & shoulders so badly my PT had to do extra massage because they pulled so badly and hurt my shoulders, even when i asked them to move to the other side they didn't or simply didn't understand with a language barrier. Their polish selection left much to be desired, hardly any new bottles mostly 1/3 or 1/2 bottles so thick it would take hours for your polish to dry. Walking in I just didn't get a great impression for this place. it's a typical run of the mill strip mall nail shop . The employees eat in between clients so there is always a stench in the air of international foods /acrylics nails in the shop. That's the issue with strip mall nail shops . You can't tell if you are getting your nails done or waiting for your international lunch to arrive. Not the experience i was wanting that day. Won't return here. read more

I stopped in at 2:25 Friday afternoon, which was two days ago. I asked if they could do a pedicure and she said yes. I asked if they could do it "now" because I had to leave at 3pm for a doctor's appointment. She said yes they could. I would have had no problem if she said they could help me in 20 minutes. I would have said thank you and gone elsewhere. I sat waiting for 5 minutes for them to sit me at a spa chair. She started the water and asked how the temperature felt. I kindly said it was a little too hot. She seemed irritated and turned on the cold water. Thirty seconds later she asked if it was better. I said yes, and she turned the cold water off. It was still hot because it didn't yet have enough cold water. I sat there 10 more minutes debating on whether to say anything about no one coming over. I finally asked how much longer it would be and that I needed to leave at 3pm. She rudely said five more minutes. I sat there almost 10 more minutes. I finally got up, with soaking wet feet, and said "I have to go. You told me you could do it 20 minutes ago." She sat there quiet. I left. They clearly thought they "had me" once my feet were wet because they figured I wouldn't get up and leave. Well, I did. If I could give this place a negative review I would x100000 . The managers name either David or Peter they did my nails about 2 weeks ago and I got a full set and gel toes. I asked for regular full set, and they gave me gel without telling me . I had to pay $110 for both !! He said he had to charge me an extra five dollars for an extra color I said OK that's fine. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he said he couldn't do it. In total was $25 for taking off and 2 colors and after he said okay I'll take it off for you and give you your money back & I was getting mad at that point because he didn't want to provide me service . He asked for $5 in cash after he already charged me for $20 on my card, so I added it to the receipt for that to make sense instead of charging my card twice . He told me to pay first before doing my nails so they could dry since I didn't want gel this time. So after he took off the color he said I'll give you $15 back I said no $20 because I'm not paying for my broken nail and he said no $5 for a tip and I said no that was for the extra color and he said no $15 and I said is there somebody else who understand and he said " OK FINE $20 get out " and I left with my nails un painted and uneven . I used to like going here but I have experienced racism with them and I am not happy about it at all. Due to covid you had to call in to make an appt. I spoke with the owner the day before to set up my appt. When I walked in, my nail guy was just finishing up. I was told to sit and wait. I waited 15 mins and while waiting another older woman walked in who was white and she was greeted by the guy who I had an appt with. The owner walked up to me and asked me to come back later that day and apologized bc my guy was unable to do my nails at the time. Not wanting to be confrontational, I obliged and went home, came back at the time she told me to and waited another 30 minutes. Btw they don't accept credit or debit cards so I Venmo'd them. Walked out with no issues. While driving off the owner ran to my car to get my phone number assuming I did not pay. Mind you white women were walking out left and right after sending their Venmo with no issue I really wish I didn't tip them. On top of that, Mu nails didn't even last a full 2 weeks.
