My friend and I stopped by Crab Boat primarily for happy hour, and overall, I'd say it was an average neighborhood seafood spot. Nothing really stood out, but nothing was terrible either. The restaurant has the typical crab house setup with brown paper covering the tables, and everything was spaced out nicely. We decided to sit at the bar, which is fairly small. I'd estimate there are only about eight bar stools. For drinks, I had two Moscow Mules, and my friend ordered two Lemon Drops. Both were good, especially for happy hour, and the prices were reasonable. The only food we ordered was the fried calamari, which came served in a small boat tray. The bartender also handed us plain white paper plates.... the same disposable plates you can buy at walmart. I'm definitely not someone who expects fine dining at a crab spot, but it felt a little lazy. Most seafood restaurants at least use branded paper trays or sturdier disposable plates that fit the experience. I completely understand that restaurants are dealing with rising costs, but this small detail took away from the overall presentation. Since we only ordered an appetizer, I can't fairly comment on the rest of the menu. However, I noticed several tables enjoying steamed crabs, while most of the people sitting at the bar had fried seafood platters with shrimp, fries, and hush puppies. Everyone seemed happy with their meals, so that's always a good sign. I did make a trip to the restroom, and while it was clean enough, the stall door was difficult to close and lock properly. I actually had to hold the door shut while using the restroom, which is something I hope they fix soon. We ended up staying for about two hours, and the atmosphere was relaxed and easygoing. Another plus is the large parking lot, which made parking convenient. Overall, Crab Boat was just okay. The happy hour prices were good, the drinks did the job, and the service was fine. I don't see myself going out of my way to return, but if I were in the area and wanted to grab a reasonably priced drink or it was one of the only available options, I wouldn't mind stopping in again. read more

Terrible service and horrible food at the Crab Boat. My 1st and last time here. 1. No water 2. No napkins, had to get them myself. 3. I order a crab cake. It came out cold, half done and mushy. The waitress was absentminded enough to bring me the napkins way after I walked back in of the terrace to get them myself. Inside ok. No ambiance for me it was freezing cold. The temp outside is much better. Horrific. I will not refer anyone here either. You try patronizing a business and this is how you get treated. I recently discovered this restaurant and up until today (2-24-26) they were fine, however, today they really shocked me. I placed an order for pickup and when I got to the restaurant and received my order, I didn't realize until I got in my car to check to make sure the order was correct to discover it wasn't. The crazy thing is I ordered the 2 fried crab cakes with coleslaw; however, they gave us French fries. I also ordered the 5 whole wings with fries, and 2 sweet teas. I went back and told them they gave me fries with the crabcakes versus cole slaw. Which should have been something simple like give me the cole slaw, the manager insisted I bring the food back into the restaurant so they can take the fries out and exchange them for the cole slaw. Now maybe I think differently than others, but why would you insist...well demand that I bring food back so you can REMOVE what you mistakenly placed in my order. I thought wait I've taken this food outside it's in my car and you're demanding I bring it back so you can remove the fries that you're going to trash (or are you)? The fact that she didn't see anything wrong with this is a problem, so instead of giving me the coleslaw I simply returned the entire order and got my $55.00 back. She would rather refund me $55.00 versus giving me a side of coleslaw as the mistake wasn't on my part but theirs. Needless to say, I will never patronize this business again, because it makes me wonder how many others have returned their food because their order was wrong and seriously what did they do with that returned food? read more

EPIC FAIL! Second time, most likely, last time. I just left this restaurant after waiting for 40 minutes to receive NOTHING. That's right folks nothing...my friend and I entered the dining room at 6:10. We ordered 1 app and 1 entree, both of which were fried, at 6:18. At this moment, our waitress informed us she'd bring us both waters. They arrived 8 minutes later. {8 minutes for 2 glasses of House Tap.} Guess what though, a table seated 5 minutes after my table, who's order was taken AFTER my table, received there food first. But wait there's more. i was informed 10 minutes prior that our food, would be right out. Well ladies and gentlemen, this is where the saga of disappointing service ended, we left 10 minutes later. Honestly, the seafood here is good. You can see for yourself. The costs range from Average to High, depending on how much and how it's cooked. They have everything from fried platters and sandwiches to boils and family style feasts. The prices for alcohol beverages is Standard to Good. They also have daily Drink Specials. The presentation; simple yet attractive. The customer service, attention to detail and lack there of, leave a lot to be desired. Also, this is a casual dining restaurant with a wraparound porch for outdoor eating, weather permitting. It has freestanding tables, limited booths and bar seating. Multiple TV's with a myriad of ongoing sports, displayed throughout. I can't say that I'll be back, however I've given you enough information to make your own decisions. read more

Lorrrrd I'm sad I'm just trying this spot! Granted, I'm never out this way but if I ever am nearby??? Best believe I'm popping in here for SOMETHING! Wings. Fried shrimp. Catfish. Hush puppies. Croaker (seasonal). Fries. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. And even better, the prices weren't gouged extremely high. Everything was affordable and the portions were hefty. Our waitress, Keyana, was an absolute gem of a human. Fun personality, patient with us while we decided on which fish exactly to order, made sure everything was just right. No complaints here. Fantastic! I ordered the #4 combo to go (crab legs, clams, sausage, shrimp, potatoes and corn) and a couple of appetizers on the side (hush puppies and crab egg rolls). Everything was delicious. The combo boil was basting in their special crab boat signature sauce and with medium heat. The seasoning was on point and very good. I also really enjoyed the crispy hush puppies and the crab filled egg roll. There wasn't a disappointing bite in the entire meal. I'll definitely be back to order from there again! read more

I finally decided to give The Crab Boat a try since the parking lot is always packed whenever I pass by on my way home. From the outside, it looks much larger than it actually is--inside, the space felt pretty cramped. The atmosphere was also very loud; it felt like we had to raise our voices just to hear each other across the table. Service was a bit slow, with the waiter only coming by about every 20 minutes, so we waited a while for drink refills. In terms of food quality, I'd say Crafty Crab is a bit better, but the food here was still enjoyable. We ordered Combo #4, which came with two clusters of snow crab, one pound of shrimp, half a pound of clams, half a pound of smoked sausage, plus two corn cobs and two potatoes. We also tried the hush puppies and calamari as appetizers--both were quite good. The biggest downside was how tough the crab legs were to crack, especially since no tools were provided to help with that, which would've been appreciated. Despite some drawbacks, I'd still recommend giving The Crab Boat a try! read more

In town for work. I'm originally from Baltimore. But now I live in Atlanta. Not a B more crabcake, but definitely a good crabcake. I'm definitely happy I decide to come to try this out. The crabcake was very good and favorable.. Cajun fries were on point. And the shrimp dumplings not too bad. My server was very nice and friendly checked on me often to make sure I was doing good. We took my grandmother here for her 68th birthday. First let me say the restaurant was very nice. They also have a deck outside where you can eat. Our waiter G was phenomenal! He checked on us consistently and had no problem with making sure everything we got was what we wanted. Now the food. We all ordered seafood boils. Now I've been to almost every seafood boil place and let me say this spot is hands down the best. The seafood was fresh, eggs were fresh, I also added broccoli which was fresh! The bags had so much sauce. Most places give you more of the spices than the butter but crab boat executed both. My aunt and cousin who are autistic and eats selectively ordered the fried fish meal with a side of broccoli and potatoes in their crab boat special sauce. I also had the hush puppies which came with honey. I would definitely recommend this spot for couples and family. read more

I'm not sure what the name of this restaurant was when I visited years ago, but the concept has changed. Before, it was a traditional seafood restaurant, now it's an uber popular seafood bowl restaurant that's becoming the McDonald's of seafood joints.. One on every corner..LOL! Looking for a place to watch the Commanders whip up on the Eagles this past Sunday, we chose Crab Boat because they have a plethora of TV's in the bar area. We ordered a little bit of everything.. Crab bites, steamed oysters, jumbo fried shrimp and crab legs. Everything was very good but I don't mind getting messy at seafood bowl restaurants and neither does she..LOL. Our bartender/server was super cool, super friendly with a great personality and she made our drinks to perfection (strong and tasty)! Crab Boat is off the beaten path, in a random area off of Berry Road. It's pretty large but definitely no frills. PLEASE keep it casual or you'll look very much out of place! The crab boat is very good either dining in or carry out! I live pretty close, so I can pick and get home while my food is still piping hot. But the best thing about their batter is it never gets soggy! I prefer dinning in, the price is reasonable for the portion size and the drinks are fire. We mostly got appetizers, so I can't speak for the rest of their items. We had gotten the sweet potato fries, hush puppy's, oysters and cooked oysters. The hush puppies had no flavor and the sweet potatoes fries were just raw sweet potatoes. COOKED, just had No sauce or seasoning on them. No salt or anything, just a raw fry. Odd but we were hungry. The oysters were good but the cooked ones I could have lived without. Our sever was great and attentive! She recommended the hush puppy's and I now know you can't trust everybody's taste buds lol. Solid spot. We've only gotten takeout but finally sat inside to eat. Inside was pretty minimal, very casual spot. Lots of parking, quick service. Normally would get the seafood boil but wasn't feeling it that day-- the shrimp pasta was very garlicky but tasty. The sauce in the boils are pretty good and the seafood tastes good too. This restaurant is located in southern Maryland and off of 228. I had come here because a friend of mine was in town but also to celebrate some August birthdays. I think there was probably about 14 of us and we had a long table. Overall the waitress was so kind and accommodating and we had exceptional service. I decided to get that headless shrimp which came with some corn and I think sausage. I love the flavors and of course the seafood was amazing. Surprisingly, they have really good chicken wings. One of my friends who I sat next to got some chicken wings and french fries. They were so nice and crispy and even their fries were double fried and delicious. If you're ever in the area and you need a good place to have a seafood boil, this is the place for you. Also, because they had happy hour going on dueing the week. My friends were excited to take advantage and order some drinks that were very reasonable. The prices here are really good. Wishing I would have taken some foodie pictures. This is one of the best seafood Boils I've had. I ordered the Combo 3--crab legs, lobster, shrimp, potato, and corn--which was enough food for two. I had some leftovers, which I shared with my dinner dates. My dinner dates ordered the combo one and shared. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and seasoned. The lobster tail was a tad overcooked, but that is the risk with lobster tails. The crab leg meat was chunky and dunk-able in the boil sauce. My very first time being at crab boat Feb 13th. Once we walked in, we're seated right away and Tia are server took care of us. Her customer service was A1. The "food", the chef that was there after 5pm. Everything to the appetizer, entree, and steam oysters was seasoned to perfection. The sauce to my oysters, how they was soft and they was gone not even 10 mins, lol I had the seafood combo and my fiancé got the catfish. Crispy, fresh, everything well seasoned and the place was clean. They also did a birthday shot out to a young lady at the bar. It was nice and fun. When I go back. The food here is good and comes out fast. There is ample parking and indoor/outdoor seating. It does get very loud in here so outdoor seating is best if you want a quieter atmosphere. The service is usually good but we have had slow service a few times here. I usually get a fried fish platter which is consistently good. My advice though do not get the sweet tea. I sent that back a few times. It tasted like sugar water. Not sure how they make it but it does not taste like it was made from actual brewed tea which is ashamed as that's a usually a staple in seafood restaurants. read more

Great fried seafood! We tried this spot for the first time and I was very impressed with the food. I had the shrimp platter and I really enjoyed my shrimp. I also tried their hush puppies and coleslaw... keep in mind I'm from NC so hush puppies are a big deal to me lol. I thought theirs were spot on (albeit a little small). The service was decent. Our waiter was nice... he just seemed stressed lol. A great spot for those who want to eat and watch sports as we were surrounded by TVs with various games playing. I have two issues with this spot though: 1) they need more vegetables and/or side dish options. If you want veggies, you can basically have broccoli or coleslaw. I was surprised that they did not have yams as an option for a side dish. 2) as my son has a severe gluten allergy, there were no options for him. Thankfully I brought food for him. We have NEVER had a bad experience here. My husband and I were like what's for dinner after a long day at work. We just wanted to eat and not worry about cooking. Let me tell you they have never missed the mark. We had great customer service. And when I mentioned I was cold in one area of the restaurant they accommodated us. It's a great vibe there, you can sit at the bar and watch sports or a movie.
