So disappointed. I've had nothing but great experiences here in the past, which makes this one even more surprising. A friend and I stopped by for some quick peel and eat shrimp. According to Google, the restaurant closes at 10:30 PM. We arrived at 9:55 PM, knew exactly what we wanted, and would have been in and out well before closing. When we asked for a table, the hostess told us they were no longer seating guests for the evening. While I understand restaurants may stop seating before their posted closing time, the issue wasn't the policy. It was the way it was handled. There was no apology, no explanation, and no invitation to come back another day. The interaction felt more like, "Why are you here?" than, "We're sorry, but we're unable to accommodate you tonight." A manager then came over and identified herself as the manager. Unfortunately, she was even ruder than the hostess and appeared completely uninterested in resolving the situation or showing any concern for the customer experience. At no point did anyone attempt to handle the interaction professionally or make us feel valued as customers. In a city with countless dining options, service matters. It's not always what you say, but how you say it. A little courtesy and professionalism would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience left a very different impression than the excellent service I've received here in the past and I can't say that I'll be back. read more

It's so sad that I have to write this, but the place has gone downhill real quick. 36% service charge for groups of 6 or more. Before, it used to be booming and even when there was a slight wait, you'll still be seen within a reasonable amount of time. Now? 40 minutes to even been seen but someone. If you love seafood boils, then this is your place to come to! Ours was absolutely delicious with incredible seasoning and perfect temperature!! Kudos to the chef! We would order this again on our next visit here! If you love fried catfish, then this is the place to order them at! This catfish with fries was the BEST that I have ever tasted and I've eaten catfish in many states. Wow, it was perfectly cooked and the batter was out of this world! The fries were seasoned with a crispy outside and soft inside. Yummy yummy! Our server was Marvin, who is one of the hardest working servers around Miami. I visited 5/14 The new manager Janet doesn't know how to manage situations she insisted on calling the cops rather than honoring a Groupon. I get policies (which is barely visible on their scratched up menus) but she didn't even attempt to come to a happy medium, or care to keep a returning customer. Once the cops arrived she finally managed to do her job. Beforehand she was showing me pictures of her daughter and just repeating " I can't lose my job" and making suggestions for me to return to the business which certainly wasn't on my agenda after being threatened with law enforcement.. extreme! Anyways my goal was achieved which was to use my Groupon & not come back! The seafood boils are now very salty, you have to ask for water it's not given upon sitting down and I heard employees doing drugs in the bathroom, perhaps that's why she couldn't think straight. Hey great happy hour menu! I ordered a seafood broil for $15 --can't beat that! Unfortunately the broil was a bit cold only leaving the veggies hot. However I was too hungry to get it warmed up. I also got an amazing deal on the oysters, 12 for 15$ but it looked like the oysters had some kind of ...feature.. that we don't like to see or eat! Hey that's normal for fresh shellfish though the staff was kind enough to take it back and off the check. Speaking of the staff, as DARLING as they were they were very slow and had no sense of urgency. I was only one of three groups/people in the restaurant mid day and had to get up three times to ask for service, mind you I was sitting at the bar. I know they can do better! My husband and I visited this establishment on a Wednesday night with our baby in a stroller. We were looking forward to taking advantage of their advertised happy hour menu (5-8 PM). Unfortunately, we were told that happy hour was only available at the bar. What was extremely disappointing was that they were not willing to work with us at all, despite the restaurant being empty. They would not allow us to sit at the bar while our baby slept in the stroller nearby, or sit at a booth while my husband ordered and closed out a happy hour tab at the bar. They also would not allow us to split orders -- for example, him ordering a couple of happy hour items at the bar while I ordered from the regular dinner menu at a table. The manager made no exception and was unwilling to find any reasonable solution. In the end, we were effectively excluded from happy hour simply because we had a baby with us. We ultimately had to leave and scrambled to find another place to have dinner at 7:30PM. The policy itself feels unnecessarily rigid, and the lack of flexibility or accommodation toward families was disappointing. Families should not feel penalized for dining out. I hope management reconsiders their policy, and how they handle situations like this in the future. read more

The sauce on it was sweet and they weren't shy with the crab meat! The only thing that would take this to a 10, would be different tortilla chips. These were a little thick. Seafood boil 10/10: I had the mixed sauce with medium spice and it was BOMB!!! Delicious. Seasoned to a T with the perfect amount of spice. Loved it. Crab tostadas: my friend gave them an 8/10. Heck it's been an hour since I ordered my drink, and I've told them at least three times at this point, and I'm still sitting here drinkless. I could go on: they didn't bring silverware or napkins out, never refilled our water, and went long periods of time when we never saw our waitress (despite the fact that the place was nearly empty). I had a very upsetting experience at Crab du Jour that needs to be addressed. I dined at this location for the first time and I was told that in order to sit outside, I had to give my driver's license. Although I was uncomfortable with this, I complied. Unfortunately, I forgot to retrieve my ID that day. When I returned today the situation escalated in a way that should never happen at any business. The manager on duty treated me with extreme disrespect and refused to return my driver's license, despite my calm and respectful requests. The situation became so serious that I had to call the police just to get my license back. No customer should ever have to involve law enforcement to retrieve their personal property from a restaurant. This experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. There is absolutely no justification for withholding someone's identification or treating a paying customer in this manner. I strongly urge corporate to review this location's policies and management behavior to ensure this never happens again. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location. read more

Never coming back to this place again! We came as a group of 8 with kids included looking to have a good time. Since we got inside this place we felt unwelcome by the host. After being seated we told the waiter about 2 out of the group are allergic to some of the seafood so they could have another items of the menu different from the "all you can eat" option, but rudely she declined and expected us to separate the kids from the group to another table. Even after we ordered drinks and everything. The manager came and instead of being understanding she escalated the situation. She said "the last manager got fired for this situation". I ordered the seafood boil with the Snow Crab Legs and headless shrimp, and my spice was supposed to be hot. I also chose the hush puppies and 2 for 1 margaritas The margaritas were superb, but the boil? No thank you. I'm accustomed to seeing the spices. But there was none. The hush puppies were microwaved. I know this because I could see the server nuking them. That caused them to be hard. I bit into the corn first. Very juicy, but no flavor. The shrimp were a good size, but no flavor. The crab legs were small and flavorless. And so was the potato as far as flavor. I gave up and took the bag as leftovers hopeful that there would be flavor the next day. Nope. My husband and his family love seafood boils and we like to try as many as we find. Yesterday we finally got around to trying Crab Du Jour but it sadly left much to be desired. We arrived at 7 PM which is normally a very busy dinner time on a Friday night but the place empty and full of tables. While I was happy to be seated right away, this couldn't be a good sign. The drink specials are great! My husband got 2 for 1 vodka drinks and the beers ranged from only $5 to $10. Unlike at other seafood boils we've done, the menu was extensive with items for non-seafood boil eaters like myself and my son. While my husband and his family each ordered plates of crab, shrimp and crawfish, my son and I opted for a cheeseburger and a shrimp po boy. The cheeseburger was originally brought over to us with no cheese, but the waitress brought over a slice of cheese for it. The burger was so bland and a little on the cold side and my son took 3 bites and had no desire to eat the rest. My shrimp po boy was extremely bland. The bread wasn't toasted, seasoned, or even have a spread. My sandwich was just white, boring bread with a couple shrimp and a giant piece of thick tomato. I'm usually able to finish my sandwiches and ended up taking out the shrimp and leaving all the bread and veggies. I ordered Cajun fries with my sandwich that didn't taste Cajun-y at all. Although they tasted good, they were just fries heavily seasoned with pepper. My husband and his family enjoyed their seafood boils but agreed that other places offer more and leave them more satisfied. The place isn't horrible and the drink specials are great but it's not a place I will go to more than once. read more

I genuinely thought I ordered more than I can finish but I shocked myself when I was digging in the bag looking for more food but it was gone LOL. I ordered: - Shrimp (head off) - Scallop - Dungeness Crab - 2x eggs - Potatoes & Corn - Mild Butter Garlic sauce This place is the definition of finger-licking good! The scallops were perfectly soft and tender. The crab was hefty and the meat was absolutely delicious. I didn't even need to use the crab-cracking tool, I just went in with my bare hands. My favorite part about eating here was the moment when I'd crack a crab leg and the meat would slide right out in one whole piece. It's a delightful feeling of accomplishment for food lovers! The food was great! I have been to a couple of these "sauce" seafood places in Louisiana but, I will say, they give you your money's worth here. The seafood was cooked well--not overly or under cooked. I had the House Mix for my sauce. Now, I will say...I prefer mixes from other places over this one. I don't know--this one just tasted like a bunch of creole seasoning to me lol. The cons we experienced: 1. The music was SOOOOOO loud. It was so odd how loud the music was--I mean, louder than some actual bars lol. It was really difficult to hear our waitress. 2. I was excited to dine at this place on 7/14/23 to satisfy my ongoing seafood cravings, but what a disappointment especially because the food was delicious but the service and vibe was so poor it left with a bad taste in my mouth. The waiter appeared uncomfortable communicating with us, and he asked us what we wanted to drink and order without introducing the drink menu or saying anything else; ie. introduction, greeting, specialty drinks, menu items, etc. Don't they teach this in waiter school??? We were trying to read and decipher the menu options, and he offered no input or help. When we told him we needed time to look at the drink options and menu, even though the place was not full or busy, he took a long time to check back with us for the order. 3. Our meal arrived fairly quickly and I must give compliments to the chef because everything was delicious. But again, the waiter did not check in, I know my husband probably wanted another beer and I most definitely would have appreciated a word about dessert options but the vibe was saying get the bill and get to steppin! I watched another party of 5 walk in the walked out 5 minutes later. It took us another long wait and me coercing the hostess to get this guy back to our table to collect the credit card receipt. We watched him sit at the bar and he clearly saw us still there, when he finally returned he said I could have just left it there and left. As we walked out, we understood why most of the booths and outside seating were empty on a Saturday evening. I don't know if this is how this place is operating, but I do know that I will not be returning, and I'll let others know, go spend your good money and time else where.
