I've been here many times over the years since they've opened. I never once had a bad experience but today I came in and it seemed off. The menus were new with new items and restructured seafood combo selection which made up wonder if management changed. We got the lemon pepper wings to start and combo C to share. The wings had a strange smell but tasted okay. The seafood was noticeably different. We ordered spicy but it barely even tasted like anything at all. Obviously being in TN, we don't expect to have fresh out of the water seafood but this was the first time the quality was bad, very obviously frozen for a while. Perfect Cajun boil! We got the boil that cost $50ish but feeds 2-3 people. Honestly it's was perfect. We got the middle of range spicy and followed our servers recommendation of getting the house favorite sauce which is a mixture of a few options. We had a table for 12, I think our server her name was Dani. She was super sweet & helpful. I ordered 3 lbs of crawfish (live) they had a deal for 2 lbs at $15 get the 3rd lb for half price. I got the signature sauce with the extra spicy level. (It does have a kick to it but I have a high tolerance for spice) Everyone ordered appetizers and it came out in a decent time. Sooo good. Worth the wait. We got cheese fries as an appetizer, a pound of shrimp, and split the combo #3 between four of us. Lemon pepper sauce at mild heat, extra sausage with a side of rice. We had plenty of food leftover, almost two meals worth. Comes with king crab, snow crab, corn on the cob, shrimp, sausage, crawfish, clams, mussels, and potatoes. Delicious. I hadn't visited in a few months, but it seems that Crab Fever has changed owners at some point this year. I don't like the change. They no longer serve alcohol, but have not revised their menus or removed signage for drink specials. It took them an hour to begin making our orders for some reason, the waittress implied bad communication with the kitchen. We each ordered ramen bowls, but were told that they no longer serve sichuan chili ramen, so we had to pick something else after already waiting for an hour. We at least had appetizers 45 minutes before that and it kept us from getting too hungry while we waited. The fried fish is still very good, I'll give them that. I was disappointed that they don't appear to serve sushi anymore, or do all-you-can-eat. The worst part was the relentless worship music. This is not the Crab Fever that I remember, at all. I went from hoping they succeed last year and telling my friends about this place, to wanting to warn others not to come here. We came on a Friday evening and waited a very long time before anyone even looked in our direction, when they finally did the young man took us to our table without even speaking and slammed the menus down. Finally after another 10 minutes our server made it to us and she was very flustered and rushed. Once we got our food it was not what we ordered but the server argued that it was. I think what happened is we ordered a combo B but she heard combo D and did not want to take the fall for it. Understandable, they should use a number system or something. When the correct food finally came, it was so bland nothing like how it was before. They also took the alcohol away. I love a good boil and bag so had to try them out. Walking in I was completely thrown off guard with the live music. I was not expecting it, but that definitely made this experience a great one. I ordered the combo 3 with snow crab and shrimp. You definitely get your money's worth because it is ALOT of food. The only down side was the sauce I did the Cajun and garlic butter seasoning with medium spice level. The spice level had the kick I was looking for, but the seasoning wasn't there for me. My family went there to celebrate my retirement. I'd been to the one in Nashville, and since this opened near us, I decided this would be a great place. We tried lots of different dishes and were pleased with all of them The only problem I had was that I ordered Combo #3 and it was too much food. Period. Gut bust. I'm going to run down the menu and talk about service. For appetizer, we ordered three different items. We had Fried Calamari, Crispy Garlic Brussels Sprouts and Corn Cheese. They were all very tasty. Calamari had a different coating than most restaurants, but were very tasty. The key here is that they were not overcooked. They were still tender. Brussels Sprouts had the right amount of garlic and were nicely crisped in a pan. I am not a big fan of this vegetable, but kept stealing them off my wife's plate. Cheese corn is a simple dish, just cheese and corn, but the flavors blended just fine. My two adult sons and I ordered a combo and got the food served still in the steaming bag. Don't have them dump it on the table as they suggest. It will make a huge mess. Dig through the bag. Spice levels are custom ordered, as is the seasoning and we got exactly what we wanted. All of the seafood in the bags was cooked to perfection. There were only two very minor things. When ordering crawfish, it is tradition to suck the head out before eating the tail. Well, when I sucked the head, I got nothing. I guess the juices ended up on the sauce. The small clams got lost. They fell out of their shell and were never found in the sauce. None of us could find them and often we got a chunk of garlic instead of a clam in the shell. My wife got the pasta dish and dug right through it. There was plenty of seafood and the pasta was done nicely al dente. She, too complained that it was too much food. Our server was prompt, polite and helpful. A manager came by to check up on us, too. The price was fair, about what you would expect when you order the more expensive shellfish. We did have one interesting incident. The server accidentally brought my son a non-alcohol beer. They funny thing was that the server noticed before my son, and my son had already taken a swig or two and did not notice. They corrected it promptly. My wife and I were split on the lobster rolls. She thought it was one of the best she's had while I thought that it was just okay. The manager came over and we had a very nice chat about the new restaurant. It's always a good sign when a manager comes around to get customer feedback. A3, to ho order. The 8 fried shrimp are big, cruchy and golden and are really good. They have 2 flavors that you can choose from. I got plain. But the other 2 are house or cajun. The fries that come with it are good too. They're not crispy and that may be because I got my order to go. But I like the taste and the texture. It comes with 2 sauces that I'm not familiar with. One is probably cocktail sauce but I'm not a fan. Not really sure what the orange sauce is. I eat my shrimp with hot sauce and ranch and these are good shrimp. Today was my first visit I was very happy I did. Kayla the server helped walk us through the menu. We ordered the fried oyster basket and and the combo number two per Kayla's suggestion. The food was very Hot and fresh. The oysters melted in the mouth. I wished the coating had a little more seasoning but the oysters were technically cooked perfectly. (I'm very a very nit picky foodie and hard to please) but the cook and n the oysters were amazing and textures were spot on. The combo number two was fabulous as well. It was very hot and fresh. My only regret was adding the flavoring. I love the subtle flavors crab and shrimp have. I added the garlic butter flavoring and the garlic way overpowered the deliciousness. It was still delicious and I'm stuffed to the Gils. Next time I'll see if they just have a few fresh lemons and butter with no garlic. My suggestion would be for new patrons to get a few options on the side to try before you are silly like me and just dive right in. Added side note- I left a comment card and had my contact info on it. I'm glad I did. My husband accidentally left his credit card in the pay booklet trying to juggle a newborn and baby gear. I don't require a lot, just make sure my drink isn't empty and check back every so often. The food was not good at all. The way it's cooked and served was just unpleasant. You wear gloves so you don't get spice and sauce all over your hands, and it comes in bags. It's like eating out of a trash bag and it's in the sauce, which is so rich and overloaded with garlic.
