But the awesome Fish Delish offers a slight conundrum as the fish-and-chips is a great choice but they're also crafting some other offerings that can't be found anywhere else. The salmon dog is great for the palate and for the 'gram. Even as someone who controversially extends the boundaries of what counts as hand food, I had to use a fork for this epic sandwich. The fish is great, as are the bells and whistles. Wasabi mayo is enticing but my favorite component was the smoked mozzarella.

I tried the Clam Chowder, the Shrimp XL Truffle Sandwich, and Coleslaw. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table. The Chowder was tasty, and really hit the spot on a cold and dreary day. I would say that it needs more briny clam flavor. Still a solid soup. The star was my sandwich. Five plump, perfectly cooked shrimp are on a soft bun along with cucumber, arugula, grana padano cheese, and truffle sauce. This sandwich was divine! Truffle that you can actually taste, really elevated the flavor. This sandwich makes me want to try all of them. The coleslaw- which was a huge portion- was a perfect crispy, creamy side. Prices were very reasonable for the portion size and the quality. I cannot wait to go back for the lobster roll. Highly recommend

The beautiful ambiance immediately set the tone for the evening, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made the dining experience feel special from the moment we arrived. The servers were also exceptionally well informed, offering thoughtful recommendations and answering questions about the menu with confidence and detail. The setting called for a look that was effortlessly chic and comfortable. I paired light-wash mom jeans with a dark denim button-up shirt, gold Nike Gatos, and a black blazer for a polished touch. My YSL Cassandre Chain Wallet in lambskin completed the look, making it the perfect outfit for a stylish night out without feeling overdressed. We started with three appetizers: the pork gyoza, sticky ribs, and Caesar salad. The pork gyoza were perfectly tender with a savory, well-seasoned filling and a delicate wrapper that had just the right bite. The sticky ribs were the standout appetizer--fall-off-the-bone tender, glazed with a rich, slightly sweet sauce that balanced smokiness and umami beautifully. Even the Caesar salad impressed, offering crisp romaine, a creamy dressing with a pleasant tang, and enough Parmesan to make each bite satisfying without being overwhelming. For my entrée, I ordered the braised black cod with ginger soy sauce. Unfortunately, the fish was practically swimming in the sauce. While the cod itself was buttery and flaky, the overwhelming amount of ginger soy made the dish excessively salty. After a few bites, I found myself wishing I had ordered a side of rice to help balance the intensity of the sauce. The quality of the fish was evident, but the heavy-handed sauce took away from what could have been a fantastic dish. My drink of choice was the Tokyo Smoke. Most of the cocktail menu seemed centered around gin, tequila, or vodka, so I was drawn to this one because it featured Japanese whiskey. I was initially skeptical when I saw egg white listed as an ingredient, but it worked surprisingly well. The cocktail was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet, with the egg white adding a silky texture rather than any noticeable flavor. Overall, the appetizers and cocktail were memorable, but the black cod's overpowering saltiness kept the meal from being a home run. I'd definitely return for the starters and drinks, but I'd be more selective with my entrée next time.

The space feels modern, stylish, and energetic without being overwhelming. As vegetarians, we're always looking for restaurants with thoughtful options, and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety available. We ordered the tofu croquette, tofu bap, avocado rolls, and the 100-layer potatoes. The tofu croquette was crispy and flavorful, the avocado rolls were fresh and satisfying, and the 100-layer potatoes were a standout with their crispy texture and rich flavor. The tofu bap was comforting and well-executed. I also tried a lemony mocktail that was refreshing and paired nicely with the meal. A special thank you to Mayla, who provided warm, attentive service throughout the evening and helped make our girls' night even more enjoyable. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was fantastic, and we had a wonderful time catching up with friends. I'd definitely recommend MM by Morimoto for its ambiance, service, and vegetarian-friendly offerings.

There aren't many places in the area doing this so I'm glad Crockett's exists! We called in our order about 15 minutes in advance which I highly recommend doing. By the time we got there, it was almost ready and considering we were hungry, I'm glad we didn't have to wait much longer. The fish & shrimp were cooked fresh and it shows. To start, the 6pc Jumbo Shrimp for ~$15 is pretty crazy. That's $2.50/shrimp which is high. It tasted good, well-seasoned, and the batter wasn't too thick. The Whiting & Catfish were both super flaky and light. They were lacking salt & pepper and could've been fried harder for me personally. The Whiting had much better flavor but you can't go wrong with both once you add the tartar sauce or hot sauce. Each dinner comes with 2 sides and I particularly liked the steak fries and mac & cheese. They just hit the spot more in a meal like this. The candied yams were more of a dessert and they are definitely heavy-handed with the cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and sugar. Good try, and this one meal kept us full all day!

The title of this review is "Looks Can Be Deceiving"…read more I've read tons of reviews on Crocketts and have passed it tons of times and today finally decided to stop in and grab a fish sandwich for lunch. The restaurant is exactly what people have said it is which is an old school fried fish joint! There's definitely a nostalgic feel to it from their cash only policy to the decor , to the counter where you order and to being able to look into the kitchen while you wait. You can also smell the fish frying from outside, which has always been a great sign in my experience. They have their menu on the wall and after I looked at it for a bit I decided to not to go with my fish sandwich but rather with a fried fish dinner because I really wanted to try their collard greens and baked macaroni and cheese in addition to the fried fish. The cost for the dinner was $21.99 which I found to be reasonable specifically because the fish is fried fresh and everyone said the portion sizes are pretty big. After placing my order, I knew I needed to go and feed the meter because in the true fashion of an old school soul food fish fry joint things were going to take a little while before they were ready. It took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready, and as I stated, everything was fresh. The reason that I titled this review "Looks Can Be Deceiving" is because the entire dinner overall looked amazing, however, I feel that the flavors of everything fell short. It's funny because I thought the collard greens looked like they were going to be slamming, and the mac & cheese looked like it was going to be the item that I disliked the most, but truth be told, the greens were what I dislike the most because there was no seasoning .... only vinegar. The mac & cheese had a bit more flavor, but it was dry and lacked on basic seasonings like salt and pepper. The fish while perfectly fried golden brown also was sadly pretty flavorless. And although the portion sizes were exactly what people said, and there was enough for two meals out of one dinner I am more than likely, not even going to want the second portion SMH. There were a lot of people ordering the potato salad though so perhaps that's the side I should've went with in addition to the candy yams ... but I will never know because unfortunately, I won't be back. I still have to thank Crocketts for taking me back with the old school vibe though .... Oh, one last thing, even though it did suffice because as I mentioned, I won't be eating the second portion of this dinner. I had to laugh because they only give you one small container of hot sauce, and one small container of tartar sauce for four large pieces of fish Lol.
