We started with a shrimp cocktail, big plump, juicy shrimp served with cocktail sauce and a generous swirl of fresh horseradish. It was a wonderful way to start the meal. My dining companion ordered the pot roast with heirloom carrots. Pot roast isn't usually my favorite dish, but let me tell you, this was no ordinary pot roast. The beef was fork-tender, covered in a rich decadent gravy that I won't forget. I had a hard time choosing an entrée because everything sounded so good, but I settled on the ribeye with twice baked potato, and we shared a side of mushrooms. My steak was absolutely incredible, perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor and so generously portioned that I took half home and happily enjoyed it for lunch the next day. What really made the evening special was the hospitality. The staff chatted with us about the history of the building, their favorite items, the town itself. They genuinely made us feel like welcome guests. After dinner, we wandered to the back lounge area, where there's a beautiful full-size bar, plenty of comfortable seating, and live music.
