I ordered a Black and Tan with a jalapeño sausage link, sweet corn and jalapeño corn casserole. It was without a doubt the worst brisket I've had in Texas. The sausage had a good kick to it. Despite being an old Taco Bell, this place is incredible. You order at the window but they brought our food out. Service was really fast as most bbq is. Awards and decor adorn the space and make it feel like a true bbq shack. The ribs are the best baby backs around by far. I also love all the sauces. read more

Today's lunch stop, Cackle & Oink BBQ! Found this place on Yelp and thankful for this recommendation. Definitely a line and busy inside but for good reason. But staff is quick to accommodate and make sure experience is top notch. Aaron was the man for sure. Went with the black and tan plate with jalapeno cornbread casserole and baked beans added a smoked sausage. Wow! I enjoyed every bite. Bbq sauce not necessary at all but they have delicious options there too. Tried the Plano and Sweet Willie's. The cornbread and ribs were showstoppers. I need this cornbread recipe! All I know is every plate in front of my family was completely clean. A testament to a fantastic meal. And thanks again to Aaron and all of the friendly staff. Outstanding service from Kaydia and Aaron today. They were really busy at this meet little BBQ joint. This was our first visit but won't be our last. We both had the black and tan sandwich. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Don't remember what else was on it but it was GOOD. I also ordered an ala carte rib. That rib was delicious. Love the atmosphere here! Cozy and full of interesting decor. The staff is very friendly and helpful - this was our first time here based on a friend's referral. We ordered the Big Texan - beef brisket and smoked sausage. Also ordered their famous and award winning pork ribs. The brisket was a little dry but still tender and flavorful. The smoked sausage was really good, nice heat on it from the black pepper. I give it a strong 4 out of five for my taste. The ribs won me over, especially paired with their Sweet Willie BBQ sauce. I gave it a 5 star! It was cooked perfectly and the caramelized glaze was delicious. I also loved the Jalapeño cornbread casserole! The other side was coleslaw which I rate as average. Our first-time visit, and C & O did not disappoint. Hubby had the Cackle & Oink and really enjoyed it, especially the sausage. I ordered the 1/4 Chicken with a side of green beans and a side of Black-eyed peas, and a "small" slice of peach cobbler. The chicken was so tender it fell off the bone when I picked it up to eat. Too much to eat at once, so we packed up our leftovers for dinner. Excellent eating times 2!! Not only does the food shine at this place, so does the staff. Cassidy graciously answered our questions, kindly took our order, and towed the company line when it came to serving sizes, especially the cobbler--huge helping. We come to this area to fly fish the Texoma tailrace, Loy Lake, and to tye flies at the annual Red River Rendezvous. on a road trip we found this place after seeing it here on yelp and reading the awesome reviews...we pulled in and thankfully found a parking spot....it was crowded. we thought this is a good sign! Upon walking in we were greeted by a friendly hello and the wait wasn't long. The place was so cute inside...rustic charm with cute signs and lots of fun old license plates. we ordered our food from a large selection of not just bbq but also great sides. The gal at the register was so helpful and everyone was so nice. After we told them it was a first visit they were eager and happy to answer our questions. we found a table and immediately a super nice man in an apron came over and welcomed us again....he told us about the different sauces they make and was happy to bring us some to try....quickly he delivered our food and wow what he brought to our table was pure goodness! My husband ordered the big tex plate-two meats sliced beef and sausage and i ordered the chopped beef sandwich. We both got two sides...baked beans, cabbage, mississippi mud potatoes (the special) and jaleel cornbread. I cannot say enough about how yummy all was! If you are in the area you need to stop in and enjoy some of the best bbq! And tell Aaron who just happens to be the owner who cooks all and then is the bus boy and waiter hello!
