Today was definitely in the mood to get a memorial dinner and Cracker Barrel was the place to go. I'm on the road with my significant other is a truck driver he got the egg and cheese biscuit. His two complaints was that the biscuit tasted like it was undercooked and the eggs tasted like there was an eggshell mixed in. However, my food I have no complaints. The restaurant and bathroom are dirty. Order chicken fingers and mashed potatoes. No mashed potatoes. Requested a plain bake potato - I could have that for an up charge. Ok, I will have Mac and cheese. Husband ordered Soup of the day - out; green beans - out, biscuits - out. Mac and cheese came and had something brown in it - asked what it was - server said "probably cheese". It was macaroni mush - there was no way that was cheese - didn't even try it. Nothing wrong with the food or service. Place was slammed. Likely the last time we stop, the prices being the primary reason. A soft drink or tea was close to $4.00, they added a bunch of alcohol to the menu. A domestic beer is about the same as a tea for some reason. I did not notice too many patrons with wine or beer. The food here is always amazing. I do love it. The service was funny. We had to ask for our utensils we had to ask for napkins we had to ask for a cup of water. I swear I thought those things were gonna be à la cart lol. The lady was super apologetic at the end of the day. We had a great time. Food was amazing. The service was at least prompt. Thursday night dinner, plenty of seating. I've only been to Cracker Barrel for breakfast so decided to try dinner. At the recommendation of my server, ordered the grilled chicken tenders. Ended up being a great choice since it was a healthier option. I ordered green beans, fried okra and steak fries as the side dishes. The grilled chicken tender were juicy and tenders not dry at all. All the sides were great and very satisfying. I got a side salad as well which was a pretty standard dinner salad but the dill pickle ranch dressing was a great surprise. Overall a great experience, my server Kylie was awesome and on top of in, while juggling multiple tables. Probably the best server I had during my week in the area. read more

I placed a to go order since it was a bit packed inside. I ordered mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, meatloaf, and salad. Meal was decent as I'm more a breakfast person when it comes to Cracker Barrel. But on the low end I wasn't given my salad or plastic utensils to eat with, but luckily I was at a hotel and could snag utensils. RV parking is allowed. Get permission from manager. There were at least 5 RVs and 5 other vehicles that spent the night. There is some highway noise. I'm seasoned in the world of Cracker Barrel's. When you grow up in rural Indiana with Florida as your family's top travel destination, you're going to come across a hefty number of Cracker Barrel's. A very frugal father also factors into the equation. I always felt like a queen when I ordered the Old Timers Breakfast for what was then $6.99 (now $7.99) with eggs, choice of meat, hash brown casserole, grits, sawmill gravy and a choice of bread (in my case, it was always grilled sourdough with the black raspberry jam). Alright, you probably weren't looking for a walk down memory lane so I'll cut to the chase on this particular location: speedy and friendly service, clean dining room, easy access off I55, ample parking and they got the order right. The boundless thing about Cracker Barrel is that no matter where you visit, it's always the same. It is incredibly unswerving and dependable. I know my biscuits and gravy will taste the exact same here in Bloomington or out in Virginia. I love Cracker Barrel! It was giving mad "sun down town" vibes. The associate working the retail area followed us around, it was uncomfortable. The hostess who sat us was rude, and ignored us when we asked if we could sit at a dry table because our tables were wet. So we stayed at the table we were at, and no one came to the table. We need just just leaving and trying to find somewhere else to eat. We live Cracker Barrel and it's a Sunday tradition, but this location was terrible and not worth it. Very disappointed we got the four piece chicken and a four piece chicken strips that came with one side and a biscuit. They must give the tiny tiny tiny biscuits to the DoorDash customers because that is not the size of the biscuit that you usually get and the fried chicken was horrible it was over cooked and it was so much breading on it that it was more breading than chicken. We stopped here on our way to a camping vacation to Cumberland Gap NP. We had several errands to do in Bloomington and wanted to park the camper for an hour or so to complete our tasks. Confirmation of parking the camper for a short time was confirmed a couple days before. Very easy to get into and park a 21' camper. After our errands we stayed for lunch. I just went to this location in Bloomington. Our experience was not good because our service was awful specifically our server Isabell. She seemed to give less than two cares about us or our requests. We waited 20 minutes for straws after we asked twice and then finally had to pull a different server over to finally get our straws. We waited a while for our food which was expected for good quality... but then our food came out perfectly except we realized our server failed to get us any syrup so we asked politely for syrup and she said she'd get it right out to us upon that request we asked for a water as well. She came back shortly after with the water but no syrup for the French toast. We asked politely again after no syrup arrived with the water. She said "yep" in response another 20 minutes went by with no sign of her and then she walked back out and asked us how we were and then told her she forgot the syrup could we have some. Once she did bring out our syrup after asking for the 3rd time the French toast was cold from waiting for the syrup to be brought out .She seemed to have zero cares about us and didn't seem apologetic for her mistakes she was barely present in our entire visit and it was an awful experience . I get it I've worked in service it's okay to make mistakes but when the same repeated issues continue to occur I have a difficult time being understanding. Overall food 5/5 service 0/5 read more

I want to start off with some positivity. The hostess and waitress were very friendly. That's wear most of my positivity ends. I ordered the Old Timer's breakfast. I guess I was expecting more. My meal looked like something you'd get at some rundown diner. The Sawmill gravy was flavorless. I had to add a bunch of salt and pepper. The biscuits were dry. I put gravy on them just to give them some moistness. The sausage patties were similar to ones I've bought at Kroger. The grits weren't favorable either. The hash brown casserole was the best part. I wish they gave you more of it. Eggs were average. My girlfriend enjoyed her Momma's Pancake Breakfast. I tried a bite of her pancakes but was not impressed. She said I was being too picky. I expect if I go to a restaurant that they prepare food levels above what I can make. I don't ask for much. read more

I really don't know why there's below 5 stars for this place. Food is great, servers are awesome and the store itself is a must see if you're passing by thru Illinois Things to must try are the Broccoli Cheddar chicken (Wednesday only), and the Campfire beef, they're to die for. If you're trying it for the first time, ask to get one bisque and one of their own cornbreads. It was a really good idea to stop by and try this place.
