Walked in the door at 7:40pm, was not busy and we were seated immediately. People came after us and got their food before us. I never have had this happen at Cracker Barrel before and I'm hoping it was just this location but we didn't get our food until after 8:45pm and we didn't not order anything crazy or special. We ended up taking the food to go at no charge because of how long it took and I'm not sure what was going on but then we got home with the food and I was missing a whole portion of my dinner and my husbands sides were like non existent he got 6 fries for his side of fries... Stop by late yesterday morning as I couldn't take the billboards anymore and had to have the fried chicken dinner after many months of not having any. The lady that served us did just a great job so we left her a very nice tip and the fried chicken with green beans and coleslaw or just about perfect. We went for breakfast this morning and had a wonderful young man, Andrew, as our server! There was a bit of a kitchen mishap but our server and team lead, Ryan, saved the day! The steak tips were juicy and cooked to perfection along with fresh hot coffee. Sunday mornings can be a real challenge at restaurants but this duo definitely made the grade! I enjoy the southern style meals, very filling and easy choosing. No matter where Cracker Barrel is, they stay ridiculously busy. I enjoy the gift shop more than the restaurant itself. Attended one in Tennessee and the hospitality was superb. The one in Vegas on Craig, that's a different story. Although those pancakes and portions never disappoint. I'd def say take a crack and different things on the menu. It truly depends what time of day you go as far as cleanliness and the type of attitude and attention you'll receive. While I typically love Cracker Barrel and the food options they provide (especially now that they have more vegetarian options with the impossible brand) the experience at this location was subpar. I tried to order the Biscuits Benedict which is a newer menu item. When ordering the waitress asked me how I I wanted my eggs cooked & when I told her poached or over easy like Benedict eggs (exactly like pictured on the menu) she told me that they don't cook their eggs like that and she "didn't know what that was". I explained to her how they are shown on the menu and she still refused. It was so much back and forth that I had to ask to speak with a manager. In all the manager corrected the issue but it was a headache. They also sell alcoholic beverages now (mimosas and bloody Mary's) however our waitress was to young to even sell them to us and we had to wait almost 30mins for someone to come ID us to put the order in and another 20mins for them to bring them out, and once they did our glasses where full of water from where they had taken them straight out of the dishwasher without drying, to which we waited even longer for clean glasses. We were driving from Nashville to Huntsville and decided to eat something on the way without changing our destination too much. Cracker Barrel's this location was right by the freeway. I like it more than I was expecting tbh. You go to the restaurant through the gift shop which they had nice stuff. I had to force myself not to buy anything. Our server was very friendly. We ordered the cups of coffee right away, and it came out very quickly. She was a sweetheart and she filled out our coffee once we almost finished it without calling out. The menu is clear and offers lots of Southern food at a reasonable price. The portions are also big. I got some leftovers. While waiting for our food, even while eating, we played the Peg game. Some tables didn't have the game. I'm glad we didn't get those tables. I ordered two entrees Classic Sampler with two sides. My entrees were meatloaf and homestyle chicken, and for sides were fries and mac n cheese. I found the chicken a little dry, but still good. The rest of the items were also yummy. read more

SHOUTOUT TO NOWELL! I'm giving 3 stars, only thanks to the resolution the manager offered us. My husband and I came to Columbia to visit our son, and took him to lunch at this Cracker Barrel. We always enjoy our experience at this and most other locations. Today was an unfortunate exception. Everything was off, from start to finish, from the first cup of coffee to the whopping big overcharge for the last minute candy purchase. Since there was no one at the register to ask how our experience was, I decided to call and speak with the manager after I got home. I love Cracker Barrel. It's always one of our go-to restaurants when we are on the road. I wanted to like this place for all the usual reasons...the atmosphere was good, it was clean, warm and comfortable and the greeting was pleasant. Sadly, on this day the food was not as good as we have come to expect from Cracker Barrel and the service was s-l-o-w. I ordered coffee. The waitress didn't seem to understand that I wanted coffee flavored coffee and seemed genuinely bewildered by my order for a plain old latte. So, I ordered a green bean casserole and vegetable soup. My wife ordered a variety of vegetable dishes including a plate of beans...which should have been hot, not cold. The green bean casserole had the world's daggiest onion rings on it and was not at all fresh. The soup was good but it was only lukewarm. My wife ordered fish and said it was good, but the accompaniments were below average. If the chain didn't have the history I know it to have, I would have offered just two stars. However, I believe in the brand and will continue to eat at Cracker Barrel despite what I hope is just a minor aberration at the Columbia store. Disappointing! read more

Update 10/1/19. : I ate here tonight because it's on my way home. What I ordered was unavailable, but our server waited until she brought out the other two orders to say anything. So, everyone else was sitting with food while mine was still another 15 minutes. I ended up with my entire meal in a to go box. We never got refills, and had to ask for our biscuits and they were burnt when we got them. Unfortunately, I don't believe negative reviews have any impact. Exit 46 is the first exit going northbound and last exit going southbound that has any major restaurants. Basically they can have terrible service but not have the impact of customer loss. It's a shame, really. Don't bother with ordering anything to go. I've had more to go orders than I can count and I've yet to have a pick up go smoothly. This last time, it was 55 minutes from the time I called and ordered until I was walking to my car. When my order finally came out, I was missing items. I've finally had enough and will not place a to go order from this location again. read more
