French Toast w/ Fried Chicken Tender

Chain restaurants are so popular because when you are traveling with the family, sometimes you want to eat at a familiar place. Cracker Barrel is one of those places. This location is just like any other Cracker Barrel location, was very clean, and the food was great. The thing to point out at this particular location was service. Our waitress went above and beyond to give that extra enjoyment for the kids, whether it was the extra chocolate straws for their milk or a little extra helping of food with their meals. It was a great experience away from home.

I don't recommend coming here for the holidays. There wasn't a wait, yet everyone on staff was a little mixed up. Our waitress wasn't the best... By that I mean she tried to run away from us every time she'd ask if we needed anything, which, I mean, made it pretty hard to ask for anything... This behavior was especially confusing they weren't busy. Food was alright, but our experience was soured by our service. I'd honestly make the drive to visit the one in Hamburg instead.

the first time i visited this location i ordered the cheesecake pancakes and i loved them! ive ordered them in the past for pick up and have never had a problem with anything. today i ordered two of the cheesecake pancakes and when i got home i seen that they only gave us these almost empty containers of whip and strawberries for TWO orders! im disappointed. i had been craving these for so long! i will definitely go to a different location if i ever consider going to a cracker barrel again. also, dont order the hot chocolate. i received watered down milk.

Julie T provided the best service. 3 stars on her apron does not do her 5 star service justice! Always efficient, helpful, and friendly, Julie epitomizes outstanding customer service. Three of us ate lunch here. Two of us enjoyed catfish, one of us ordering the dinner meal with 2 huge fried fish fillets and the other having the one fish piece. Side choices are abundant. We highly recommend the cinnamon-sugar spiced fried apples and the perfectly crisp hashbrowns. The third diner in our party enjoyed a robust, homemade chicken pot pie. Naturally, we loved the cornbread and biscuits that are a highlight of Cracker Barrel. The decor throughout the dining room is homey. Social distancing is followed. The country store is fun and full of bargains. Sit on a comfy chair outside on the front porch. Too bad we didn't have room for dessert, as their choices tantalize us. Parking is plentiful with well-marked handicapped spaces. We love this Cracker Barrel up a hill in scenic anthracite coal country!

One of the best breakfast options in the Pottsville area. 20 minute drive, but well worth it! Never had to wait for a seat, plenty of parking, service is good, the price is right, and the breakfasts are quite tasty! The country store isn't really for me, but there are always people in there browsing. On a nice day you can take your coffee outside and sit in one of their rocking chairs on the covered deck. You can even buy one of these rocking chairs here! The only gripe I have is how overwhelming the menu is. Several pages just for breakfast! I've found it easier to just tell the server what I want and let them pick which breakfast I should order. Note: if your server has 4 stars, she is TOP notch and passed all the CB tests! The more stars you get, the more of a discount you get on your food too. Not a bad deal for employees.

It's a Cracker Barrel. You know what you get. Good home cooking. Always a bit crowded but the food hits the spot and the service is good.

It took almost an hour for them to make my food (and I'm assuming other orders as my Dasher made 2 other stops and provided updates on the wait time). By the time I received my food it was in a grocery bag that was soaked inside due to condensation. I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich and the cheesesteak eggrolls. The eggrolls came in a proper takeout container and tasted OK, though I should've removed the bed of lettuce before saving them for later. After sitting for a while, the eggrolls absorbed the flavors of the lettuce and became bitter. It was not pleasant. The chicken sandwich came wrapped similar to what's expected from Burger King and was messy to eat, but it was better than I thought it would be. The hot honey didn't provide any heat, but the chicken was so crunchy around the edges. Last, the fries weren't great as they were placed in a paper envelope (also similar to what Burger King provides in a to-go bag) that was completely soaked. They were soft, but cooled for too long to hold any flavor. As mentioned it was an OK meal, but I wouldn't recommend it. Dining in the restaurant would likely provide a better experience.

If you're coming from Philly and you're coming up Hector Street I suggest turning onto Ash Street and parking along there. The walk to the restaurant is short. There is a 2 hour parking limit closer to the restaurant. Atmosphere. Nice and lively. There were groups, so it was loud. You can sit at the bar upstairs or downstairs. They have a small patio and outdoor seating. Service: Sydney was awesome! She knew the menu and gave me suggestions as well as the special of the day. Danielle and her trainee were very engaging. Drink: I had the peach bellini and it was good. It had peach pieces! They also offer a mimosa tower for three or more people for $70. Food: I ordered different dishes. Their menu reeled me in. I ordered the following: Fried pickles because I love pickles but I wasn't a fan. It came with a red and white sauce which was good. I think it was the type of pickles used that I didn't like. Fried green tomato tower which was pimento cheese, zesty aioli, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic reduction. I didn't like this selection either. The tomatoes were not ripe. They were too hard. The sauce was good. I like saucey but this was too saucey for me. Fried Shrimp & grits: fried shrimp, cheddar grits, smoked gouda cream, sunny side up egg. This was good. Creamy and just the right size lumps. Great flavor. If I ordered this again, i would prefer grilled shrimp. It reheated well at home. I ordered a shrimp and grits flatbread to go for someone. It looked very interesting and messy, but I was told that it was very delicious even after reheating. They have weekly specials. On Wednesdays they have a dinner for 2 special for $45. That's awesome! they have a murder mystery dinner! I can't wait to check it out! Overall even though I only liked 1 out of 3 dishes, I would definitely go back to try some other items. I'm looking forward to it.

Staff was friendly and on point from beginning to end. They do take the dress code seriously, I saw people get turned away for athletic wear. It's clear on their website and not asking too much for an upscale night out. Prices weren't ridiculous, especially since portions were plentiful. A lot of people were leaving with leftovers. The specialty drinks are a bit pricey tho. The cornbread and Mac n cheese are a must order the moment you sit down to start things off. Both served in a small skillet, perfect to share. The cornbread bread was flavorful and the butter that comes on top you def want to let that melt right in! The Mac n cheese noodles were a little softer than I would of preferred but the blend of cheeses and the crisp crust on top made me not worry about the doneness of the noodles, it was top notch! We went classic with the entrees - catfish with gulf shrimp. The catfish was cooked perfect super tender and flaky. I wasn't thrilled with the shrimp, for "gulf shrimp" as they listed in the menu they were a lot Smaller than I expected and a little tough. The sauce they came in was nice. I would have liked some kind of sauce on the side for the catfish. The collard green rice was delicious and the broccoli that came with it was prob the most delicious broccoli I've ever had, just cooked well in lots of butter! The other entree we got was the fried chicken. Really delicious and tender. It came with a sweet potato side that was yummy and a classic collard greens Even tho we were stuffed we had to try the bread pudding, it was served with a Side of delicious ice cream. The bread pudding was perfect! I would definitely return even just to eat and try more menu items but the jazz club is a must do! Beautifully decorated and classy establishment all around
