Came in at 7:45pm, the hostess was not terribly friendly but not rude either. We did get seated immediately. The waiter on the other hand was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the menu items. I ordered the big easy steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and fried okra. My wife ordered the maple bacon chicken with a side salad and loaded hash browns. It was a pretty quiet night for a Cracker Barrel. The atmosphere has surprisingly picked up even though it's past 8 now. The maple bacon chicken was over cooked, and not moist at all. Her sides were fine and the flavor was good just dry. The steak and shrimp were spot on though, asked for mid rare and they got it perfect. All in all was alright, the waiters service for sure was the saving grace.

I love eating at this restaurant because the food is fresh and the cost to portion size ratio is appropriate I also enjoy looking through the general store on my way to and from the table However due to gardening I cleverly opted to get a family portion of Chicken & Dumplings to.go with our fresh vegetables and received the container above. It was only half full and was advertised to feed a family of five and cost 17.00 dollars. I was so shocked in fact that I even called the store to confirm a mistake hadn't been made but alas apparently I had received just what I ordered. While the manager offered to another equivalent dumpling on a forwent day I am tasked with feeding myself and 3 hungry men tonight Thank heaven for extra corn, tomatoes and cucumbers. In the future I know to eat in or get takeout elsewhere

Great place to stop for a meal. Very reasonable prices on delicious meal combinations. I like that you can get breakfast anytime of the day. Very clean bathrooms. Also a nice place to shop for gifts.

I wanted 5 minutes to be seated. My eggs were undercooked and my strawberries were bad(rotten). I actually order scrambled eggs. Not sure what I received (a flipped undercooked egg.Everything else was good. The waitress was nice until she rung up my food wrong. I waited 171/2 minutes to be checked out. Her reply was this is wasting everyone's time. I explained to her that she is getting paid,I'm not. The manager never greeted me.I won't return.

Got here on a Thursday night and waited to be seated. We told the hostess our name and waited. After 30 minutes she sees us and asks are we waiting to be seated. Not really upsetting, just disappointing. I got the breakfast platter and I was disappointed. The eggs were bland and so was the bacon. The biscuits were like eating pillows. Nothing really more to say about it. I've had better from here and it may just have been an off night.

    Mmmmm.

I loved the ambiance it put off instantly It feels homey and inviting. Food... I had the Londonian salad, with the honey vinegarett dressing. My husband had the pork burger with blackberry bacon jam. Such a kind personality and she was very helpful to these old tourists. Looking forward to our sightseeing tomorrow Last and certainly not least, dessert... Two of our appetizer plates had old food on them which was gross. I think they may need to check the dishwasher to make sure it is working correctly. The BLT was yummy. Both soups were extremely thick. The potato soup was basically mashed potatoes which I've never experienced before. Food had good flavor but very small portions for the price but that is fairly standard at brunch places. It was a nice enough experience but I probably wouldn't go back. They did provide a complementary dessert due to a birthday celebration which was a nice touch!

It's one reason I don't go out for breakfast ~ I can make a pretty good breakfast at home. No use paying someone to do something I can do. So, going into Jackson's restaurant, a mom and pop restaurant specializing in home cooked style food, I had my doubts. Walking up to what resembled a school cafeteria lunch line only furthered my doubts. And, seeing the sheer number of different options sitting out behind the glass window only furthered my suspicions. Look, I was wrong. The food here is really good. The service is super friendly and helpful. I was so overwhelmed by all the choices I just told the lady behind the glass counter to pick me something. She obliged with a kindness that made me think she knew me somehow. She chose the chicken and dumplings, beef stew, apples, and two different types of corn bread. Now, I thought initially, and she even admitted, that the chicken and dumplings/beef stew mix was a little unorthodox, but that they were both so good I had to try them. Both were fantastic. The apples were awesome. I liked both types of corn bread. When I got up to leave, she called me over to the counter and said that since it was my first time there, I'd get a free dessert. You all, I was too full to even try. The food here is both tasty and filling. I was in Richmond for a conference at Eastern Kentucky University. So it was really convenient to stop by. But I'd say that even if you're remotely close, it's worth a visit. Don't, as I did, judge a book by its cover.

The menu is small and not printed, instead…read moredisplayed on several blackboards adorning the walls, attractively written with colored chalks. As a "farm-to-table" type of place, many of the items included the name of the farm where the ingredients came from. As it was fairly busy I sat at the bar so as not to tie up a 4-seat table. Soon after sitting a pleasant smoky aroma filled the room and I saw the bartender fiddling with a kitchen torch. Making a Smoked Old Fashioned. So that's what I got. What bourbon, he asked. I wasn't sure so he walked me over to the side of the bar and there were so many! I decided on one arbitrarily, a local craft brand, and he approved. Only a $3 upcharge from the standard one. It was very good, though not as smoky as I expected. The cherry was premium, not the standard bar maraschino. I do like an Old Fashioned, but I sort of wished I noticed the list of specialty cocktails first, which were really unusual and intriguing. Such as the "Garden Gnome": Vodka, yuzu, olive juice, basil, St. Germaine, and gin. For beer lovers, a very large diverse selection, from Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, and Mexico. Most of the entrees are a la carte. Order sides separately if you want them. I decided on tacos, with sides of fries and roasted brussels sprouts. This works here even for a single diner because the sides are small and inexpensive ($4 and $5), though a larger size is also offered. The entrees also were reasonable, most $15. Even the Wagyu Steak was just $29, complete with sides. I've seen prices from $40 to $60 elsewhere. The tacos were Birria, which is a Mexican style of slow cooking meat - short rib in this case - seasoned with adobo. They included mozzarella cheese, cilantro, and pickled onions and cabbage. The flour tortillas were deep-fried and more substantial than usual. Two sauces were offered in tiny bowls. One was thin and was probably the braising liquid from the meat and the other white and speckled with green herbs, sort of like a raita. Very good. The fries, crispy, hand cut, crispy, and seasoned, were also very good. And the roasted brussels sprouts were amazing. The best ever - though I seem to say that often. Sauced relatively heavily in sweet maple glaze, tender, and not at all bitter. I was surprised that there were no seafood items on the menu other than the Smoked Salmon BLT taco. And vegetarians might have a problem here. Not much to choose from other than the Big Ass Pretzel or a green salad. For dessert I had Bourbon Butter Cake, with peaches, Amaro (a peach liqueur), bourbon, and ice cream. Good but it could have used more bourbon and liqueur. And it was warmed and served in a small cast-iron skillet so the ice cream was too melted for my liking. That's my fault. I usually ask for these types of dessert not to be warmed. The great meal was matched by the decor and ambience. Pretty brick walls, decorative chandeliers, and a huge welcoming rainbow flag. Maybe that keeps the MAGAs away. That's fine. They can eat at Chick-fil-A. (Joking. Everybody is welcome here.)

5/5 Stars -- Easily one of the absolute best dining experiences in Kentucky…read more We stumbled upon this gem on Main Street in Corbin, KY today, and it completely blew us away. Located in a beautifully restored 1913 Greyhound bus station, it brings a masterclass in farm-to-table dining with original brick-and-mortar charm. It's authentic, eclectic, and classy without an ounce of pretension--you'll feel just as comfortable rolling in fresh off a lake day as you would celebrating a special occasion. What we ordered (and you need to try): Wagyu Sirloin ($29): We need to talk about this. Served with asparagus and a twice-baked potato for $29, this is easily the single best value dish within a 100-mile radius. Unbelievable quality. Salmon BLT Tacos: Pure perfection, especially after a day on the water. Burrata Cheese & Peach Salad: Absolute fire. Fresh and perfectly balanced. Birria Tacos: Exceptionally rich flavor and executed flawlessly. Blueberry Tiramisu & Limoncello: A shocker of a dessert pairing to end the night--completely knocked it out of the park. The Bar: Drinks are poured with a heavy hand and crafted strong. The open-kitchen concept lets you see the passion this team puts into their craft. Huge thanks to Draven for the warm welcome at the door, and to Laura in the kitchen who pointed us directly toward the must-try dishes and nailed every recommendation. Don't let the reasonable prices fool you--this isn't just "good for Corbin." This is foodie-certified, top-tier dining anywhere in the country. A new absolute favorite. Thank you to the whole team for doing what you do!
