OVERPRICED and they Tacked on 27% GRATUITY on my 11 year old daughter!!!!!Don't get me wrong...everyone was really nice and service was good, but food is over priced and not that good!!!! My daughter was on a youth group trip. She's young, saw a $12 "steak" on the menu and it was just hamburger...i'm looking at the leftovers right now. She also ordered peas for her side and she described them as light colored and not tasting like any peas she has had before. Sounds like canned to me as she has only had fresh or frozen peas in our home so, I'm glad we gave her a $20 bill, because it was $12 meal + $3 for a soda + $4 gratuity. If you are a fan of good food but amazing service, Marcella's is the place for you! First off, the interior is very charming, country industrial, if that makes sense. You will be greeted by warm staff and invited to choose your own table. The menu is quite diverse and I asked for recommendations for a good sandwich and I opted for a BLT with a fried green tomato. My friend opted for the Philly cheese steak. The one caveat is I would not recommend ordering iced tea as apparently the water in the area is quite funky. And after tasting the iced tea I can confirm that it really affects the flavor. So opt for a soft drink or some coffee maybe (which we had later on and was excellent). The Philly was very well seasoned and flavorful, the BLT with the fried green tomato was pretty decent. My friend extolled the virtues of the crispy but tender crinkle cut fries and the onion petals were quite good as well. But in all honesty the service was top notch and the absolute star of the meal. Realizing that the iced tea wasn't what we expected, our server went out of her way to offer something better and checked on us several times to make sure it was satisfactory. There is an incredible balance of friendliness and professionalism here that you don't find very often anymore. So next time I'm traveling through this area, I will definitely stop by and look forward to trying more of the wholesome, good food on the menu and enjoy more of that great service and country charm. read more

Stopped here on our way to Norris lake and so glad we did. Cute place about 3 miles off I 75. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the chicken fried steak with mash and corn and it was delicious. The meat was tender and fried to Perfection mash were homemade and yummy. My husband had the special of the day which was fried catfish fried and Hush puppies and it too was fried perfectly and tasty. Came with slaw also very good. Every time I make a trip back home, I'm guilty of having my mom or dad's home cooking. A few weeks ago during my visit, my dad's girlfriend directed me to this place. To begin, I've only had breakfast here & it was fantastic! They also have lunch & dinner menus(I've been told good things). I'm always surprised when going back home that there aren't many legitimate restaurants. There are plenty of touristy spots... Cumberland Lake/Falls, Cedar Creek Lake, Renfro Valley, access to the Sheltowee Trace Trail, & tons of other notable places. There's not a shortage of your typical fast food chains as well as a few select diners(a few of them that still let people smoke inside!). That's why I was so surprised when trying this place(which is smoke free & very clean). Marcella's Farm to Fork is just the right size. The employees make you feel like you're walking into your own house by how comfortable they make you feel. I should've taken a picture of the menu, but unfortunately I didn't. I will take a picture the next time I'm in & upload it to Yelp. I ended up ordering sausage biscuit, bacon, & eggs. They have everything breakfast so you'll definitely be able to find something. If I remember correctly, my portion of the meal was in the 4-5 dollar range. Half way through my meal, I decided to check-in on Yelp! That's when I noticed that this place was nowhere to be found on Yelp! This spot is truly a gem for that area. Holy fried cornbread! I know this was served to Jesus at the last super! I would want it at mine. Better than any fritter, pancake, bread, anything ever! I will marry the maker! The fried taters were perfect and just like my dad's. Corn was golden and yellow, not steamable overcooked brown swimming in butter, must say I'm not a Mac n cheese fan, however, the noodle was still firm and the cheese sauce perfect. The country fried steak was 2 legit 2 quit: the gravy was homemade as it wasn't bright white and had a brownish color to it the way real pan gravy is supposed to. Real deal y'all. Prices were right. It's comfort food and homey. Skip cracker barrell, gas stations and fast foods. Now to the reason we give these reviews. We will all return for mediocre food if service is great! We won't go back for good food if service is horrible. This place has both, friendly service, my waitress smiled a lot, was tentative, kempt, and on it and my food was well crappy, haha just kidding, if I was home alone I would have used my finger to swipe the plate until no more gravy existed.
