I was excited to try this place because the sandwiches and homemade fries look great! I came here with my family, and I ordered the Club sandwich, the Chicken Teriyaki sandwich, and a large side of fries. The food was very good overall. The chicken teriyaki sandwich was a little bit too burnt on one half, which made it inedible... but the other half was very tasty with grilled onions and mushrooms. I would have liked for there to be a little more chicken, but it was still pretty good. The club sandwich was delicious, with freshly grilled ham, turkey, and bacon... although the meats were constantly falling out of the sandwich, it still tasted like a great combination of flavors. I figured I would go to Penn Station for a quick dinner before doing a medical gas shutdown at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford. After waiting 30 minutes, I finally received my incorrectly prepared sandwich and was provided a rude remark by 'Bobby' when inquired about the time of my order. I noticed my sandwich and my business partners sandwich sitting on the end of the oven rack for 10 minutes before an employee bagged each sandwich up for us. When told that our sandwich's had been sitting for a long time and that we were in a rush - bobby's remarks are "That's life". Why does this establishment employ incompetent underaged workers who are disrespectful? This was the last time we will be coming to this location unless Penn Station decides to clean up their act at this location and replace their current workers with better service oriented individuals. You know you get that guilty feeling for walking in 1 hour before closing but we did order take out. It might of took a second for a acknowledgement from the employee but once the lady took our order she was pleasantly nice. Menu is on the wall once you walk in. Food order taken in the front. Then, you walk down to the end to pay for your food. Ordered the cheese steaks got it loaded with everything on it including spicy mustard, mayonnaise, and marinara sauce. Out of the last several times dining in, there hasn't been one time I can remember where both our sandwiches had exactly what we requested when ordering. They are good, but don't be disappointed if you customize your order on the website - something it allows you to by selecting different toppings - and it has none of the options you selected. This location tends to get overwhelmed with 10+ customers waiting on food at times, so they just make them the standard way & you get what you get. No website options for notifying of allergies, either. Were there over an hour and they made my sandwich with an ingredient I am allergic to, which was deselected, let them know, and they still included it after 2 attempts. Left without eating. On the plus side, the employees are very friendly. read more

This place has great food; terrible service. From now on I'll only visit the the location on memorial. What had happened was. We placed a phone order I arrived 15 minutes after placing the order. They had no problem ringing me up and taking my money then I waited. I watched approximately 10 people go though the line and get their food. After about 15 minutes who I assumed was the manager asked if I was waiting on something. Yes my food that I ordered over the phone half an hour ago. Turns out my $12 8" sandwich had been sitting on the counter the entire time. An employee annoyingly handed me my food then walked away. I absolutely LOVE Penn Station, and have been a member of their rewards program for a couple of years. This was my first time at this new location in Murfreesboro. The sandwiches were great, as usual. The fries were a little over done and over salted, but overall they weren't bad. My reason for only giving 2 stars is because of how awful the customer service was. Of all the employees we interacted with in this visit, the only friendly one was the girl who took our order. After we ordered, we proceeded to the register to pay. The manager (older man) said, "order for Gary?" And I laughed and said "oh it was supposed to be Mary, but yes." And he responded, "well she put it in as Gary, people make mistakes, ok?" I was a little taken aback by this snappy response. He then asked if we would like a "tea, lemonade or soda?" I said "we'll have 2 mediums please." And he said "well I asked if you wanted tea, lemonade, or soda...which one do you want?" By the time we finally got that figured out, he told me the total, and I held up my phone because I have the rewards app as I mentioned, and I said, "I have the barcode to earn rewards too." He asked, "What is that?" I explained that I have the Penn Station rewards app and I usually scan the barcode to earn my rewards points. He said "good grief I can count on one hand how many times I've seen that" with an eye roll. He then snatched my phone out of my hand without permission and began tapping around on the app (very clearly annoyed). He finally said "I can't even finish this order on this computer, I guess we'll have to move over to the next one if you want these rewards that bad." (Uh, when I'm paying $20 for my order, you can bet I want my reward points!) So we moved to the other register, and he was able to add my points, handed me my phone back, and said "ok it's ready for your card." Then he walked away while my card was reading, handed us our receipt without saying anything. We weren't handed our drink cups, and my friend suggested that maybe this location will bring them to us with our food. We sat down, and our food was brought out relatively quickly, but when the girl brought it to our table, I said "we also haven't gotten our drink cups yet...?" And she said "why didn't you just grab them off the counter?" As she walked away. She returned with them and just sat them down without a word. I'm just greatly disappointed with the attitude the employees had at this location, and especially the manager. I will not be returning. ***EDIT: the GM and Franchise Owner both have contacted me about this experience, and while the call from the GM did not seem very genuine at all, the owner was very friendly about the situation. I just want to compliment Marcus from the Medical Center Parkway Store in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He greeted us and made us feel at home from the moment we walked in the door. We discussed a lot of menu items. I thought I had ordered the Italian sausage sub, but it turns out that i ordered the Italian and that was what was delivered to my table. I normally don't go on Yelp to post a review, but this place deserves recognition. I just experienced my 3rd visit at this Penn Station location, and it has been amazing each visit. So far I've tried the Philly Cheesesteak and Italian sausage sub and both were mouth watering delicious. The fries were undeniably the best I've had thus far, and I've tried many different fries including Gordon Ramsey's fries and Penn Station still trumps over Gordon Ramsey! I like my fries extra crispy so they were able to get it perfectly the way I like it. Everything was so fresh and didn't wait long at all. The presentation of the meal was clean. My sub sandwich didn't come out looking like a sloppy joe. Everything was intact and perfectly made, no lie. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. read more

I personally didn't have a great experience my first visit. My guests did; it was just my sandwich that I didn't like, and I felt my concern wasn't handled properly by the staff there at the time. But when management was informed after my visit he very promptly (I mean instantly) addressed my concern and even went out of his way to follow up when I was busy for a few days and didn't have a chance to return his call. He apologized, coached the staff for improvements and refunded my order. I will definitely give them another try based on that response.
