Maple Street is one of my favorite places for breakfast. Unfortunately I must travel over 2000 miles to eat here. When I am in town, this is a top priority for dining out. Everyone is very helpful and courteous. The manager even tried to hunt down a shirt for me when I had asked if I could purchase one. Interesting setup. You walk into the door and a line forms. You wait till it's your turn at the cashier station and order. Get a table marker, get your drinks and find a table. Someone will bring the food to you. This method saved a lot of time not having to wait for staff to take your order. Loved that. The menu was pretty extensive with some interesting food on/in them. Menu ranged from approximately six to 15 dollars per biscuit. I was pretty adventurous and got sausage egg and cheese . The cheese grits were very good. It's been awhile since I've been here. Last time I was disappointed that the Extreme B&G was no longer on the menu. Today when I came in there seemed to be even fewer breakfast items on the menu as more than half the items are on the lunch menu. The only thing that appealed to my breakfast cravings was the Five and Dime chicken biscuit. It was very good and I recommend trying it. I don't normally visit chains when I travel but my experience at another Maple Street Biscuit Company made this a required stop. And it did not disappoint. The service was great! The order taker was friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious. If I lived near here this would be a regular place for me because I'd like to try so much on the menu. We were here on a Sunday morning and the crowd picked up while we were eating. My boyfriend suggested that we come here for our breakfast date since everyone and their Mama has been talkin about it. Well, no one's Mama talks to me so, I couldn't necessarily fact check that. Which means I had to go see it for myself. My boyfriend and I arrived pretty early, 30 minutes after they opened, and so I was pretty surprised to see people inside almost finished with their meal, already. They looked the way people did after finishing their big thanksgiving dinner. With that sleepy/ happy look. My boyfriend and I both ordered crafted lattes. My boyfriend's Carmel mocha latte tasted similar to a caramel chocolate chip cookie. I, on the other hand, had the maple vanilla latte. It was just the right amount of sweetness and it gave that taste of fall drinks that they usually only serve around the months of September through November. As our main entrees, both my boyfriend and I chose the Chix and Waffles. Biting into those waffles were heaven. I told my boyfriend that these waffles were the best waffles I had ever had. The chicken tenders were perfectly fried but what made the chicken a stand out was its perfectly fried blend of seasoning. We also ordered a side of smash browns and fried green tomato's. I moved here from San Diego and had yet to try friend green tomato's. Again, same with the chicken tenders, the fried seasoning on their green tomato's were perfect. I did like the flavors of the smash browns but they were a little too soggy and thick for my taste pallet. Still, I'd recommend trying them anyways. Now what had me taken aback was when our server brought us our food she also served us a small plate with two iced cinnamon biscuits. "On the house." was her response when she sat those puppies down. Maybe they thought, "Y'all ordered all this food from a biscuit place and didn't order anything with a biscuit?" I won't lie to you when I say I've never been a fan on biscuits. I've had some that were better than others, but no matter what they always seemed too dry. And as I bit into the cinnamon biscuit, confusion first struck my face. How in the world did someone make biscuits taste as soft as cupcake? And not even the dried out cupcakes you get at a grocery store but, those cupcakes that are especially made from a good bakery. Not purchasing something with biscuits was a bit of a regret for me once I tried those cinnamon biscuits. Definitely something I will invest in the next time I come. The parking is shared with other stores, and so there is plenty of it. The staff are incredibly friendly, there are plenty of tables, inside and outside. They even have board games and card games for customers. Restrooms are kept clean. Definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone. read more

The food took a long time. We ordered a caramel latte, peach berry lemonade, kid's waffle... and I think mine was called the retro plate. The biscuits and gravy as a side option was nice, but the gravy had a ton of pepper in it. My daughter said it was spicy. The highlight were their version of their hash browns. Got my biscuit fix!! Bummed out that my biscuits from Charleston went bad (my fault ) and I was with my craving so took the drive out to Murfreesboro from Tullahoma and so glad I did!! This quaint breakfast spot is great! Wonderful staff, with the server being so pleasant as to give us fresh coffee, served it and prepped it for us. So sweet!! The breakfast biscuit of egg, sausage and cheese was so delicious!! The biscuit was so soft and fluffy. Also got a fresh cup or orange juice, freshly squeezed which was a plus!! First time to try this place. While the initial ordering was a bit cumbersome and difficult to understand, the staff was very patient with us and attentive to our wishes. We were very impressed with the taste and presentation of the food. I had the Grits Bowl and my wife had the Hash Bowl. Both were beautiful presentations, with plenty of great tasting food. This is the third time I've eaten at Maple Street Biscuit Company. My experience had heretofore been limited to the fried green tomatoes and pepper jelly/jam, both of which are excellent. Today, I decided to try the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. The bacon was cooked to perfection and had an excellent texture and flavor. I was, however, terribly disappointed in the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were heavy/doughy, lacking any fluffiness whatsoever and not flavorful at all. I don't believe they were made using buttermilk or a correct amount of shortenin. The gravy was a little too spicy for my taste - I would have preferred a more traditional flavor. It had a slightly weird color and texture. I had asked for some pepper jelly/jam in my takeout order and I did not receive it...another disappointment. The only saving grace was the fried green tomatoes, which were fabulous as usual, and the bacon. I will go back for those but not the biscuits and gravy. Unless they learn to make a traditional gravy and much better biscuits. I don't know why Yelp has "San Francisco CA" on my location, as the location is Murfreesboro TN! read more

In town for Bonnaroo this weekend and in need of some real food. Fellow Yelpers told me that the biscuits here were not to be missed, and I am here to say that they were ONE HUNDRED PERCENT on point. We got coffee -- Maple Tap (their medium roast) for me and Dark Bark (their put-hair-on-your-chest dark roast) for him. Both blends were piping hot, smooth, and STRONG. Because we are clearly incapable of making decisions and often look at a menu and say, "OK," we ordered several things. The Five & Dime with shiitake gravy (their out-of-the-box take on sausage gravy) for him, The Squawking Goat (fried chicken, a fried goat cheese medallion on a biscuit with pepper jelly) for me, and their Smashbrowns (little hash brown cakes with green onions). Everything was off-the-charts good. Biscuits were light and fluffy, both biscuit sandwiches were jam-packed with flavor. And the Smashbrowns? DO NOT SLEEP ON THESE. We loved everything we got, but we could have eaten a giant plate full of these. So so yummy. The service was GREAT. We went on a Saturday morning and the joint was jumping, but everyone was friendly and fun, everyone wearing broad smiles. When you go, they'll ask you a question -- ours was Dolly or Elvis? -- which was a fun touch (for the record, Elvis for music, Dolly for being an absolutely spectacular human being) and I can see why it's such a community gathering spot. We couldn't have asked for a better way to start the day and if we lived here, we would go all the time. We would weigh 900 pounds, but we wouldn't be mad about it. On a recent trip to Tennessee, I was taken to Maple Street Biscuit Company for breakfast. The place was packed to the gills with a line out the door. That's usually a sign of good food, but I found out that it is a new place so it was drawing big crowds that wanted to see what all the fuss was about. The menu is mostly biscuits, a southern staple, but also had a few other items such as waffles, frittaffles (a cast iron baked omelet), grits and other sides. Looking around the room, I was shocked at the huge portions that were coming out of the kitchen. Not being a big breakfast eater, i scoured the menu for something that was a little healthier and a lot lighter than a plateful of biscuits smothered in gravy. Granted, some of those biscuit combos sounded delicious (biscuits with country fried steak, fried chicken strips, bacon, cheese, mushrooms, etc) but didn't sound like something I'd enjoy. So i went for the Squawking Goat, which had battered chicken strips, toasted goat cheese, and drizzled with their house made pepper jelly. I also got a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. While waiting for our order to arrive, we were surprised to be served a little amuse bouche of freshly baked tiny biscuits glazed in cinnamon icing. Wow! Those little things packed a flavor punch. being that they were on the sweet side, it made me wish I had a coffee instead of orange juice. Nice tough though! Breakfast came out surprisingly fast. My biscuits were delicious and the chicken strips were nice and crispy, but it was the toasted goat cheese that stole the show with it warm tartness pairing nicely with the savory filling and offsetting the overly sweet pepper jelly. If I ever order this again, I'd ask for the jelly to be on the side as there was way too much on the plate and it kind of overtook all of the other flavors. Another star was the orange juice. It was sublime!! The service was great as well. Overall it was a nice experience. I probably would have enjoyed it more if there were healthier options. I'd probably order any one of the biscuits and gravy if there were an option for a smaller portion. A full order was way too much food in my opinion, but that didn't seem to stop the locals from licking their plates. read more

We had the Squawking Goat biscuit and the Extreme Biscuits and Gravy. Both were extremely delicious. The fried chicken on the biscuit was juicy and tender, the hot pepper jelly fantastic. I ordered the Bam Yo-Yo and Coffee(of course) and my Husband ordered the Retro Plate with a side of Maple Sausage Meatballs. When I tell you the flavor of the food jumped up and slapped our tongues(in a good way), I am not telling a story(My Momma did not allow us to say lie-old habits die hard). Seasoning is a thing for me and ALL the food was perfectly seasoned. My Niece and Nephew who were with us and cater, were equally delighted.
