This cracker barrel is always pack, no matter what time of the day it is. I run into people I know all the time (not that its a bad thing). I'm not much of a fan of cracker barrel and their food, but my husband loves their country ham, so I have put up with it. I am wondering what good this will be to write about what poor service we received from a waitress paying no attention to her table. We never got bread till we were almost finished eating. When she did come back to the table she said oh I am sorry do you still want it. Then 15 minutes later after we saw her wait on two more tables before we got the bread. We had to ask another waiter for to go boxes. The survey on the ticket was useless. Asking a rate of service and then no mention of why we felt this way. read more

After more than a year, tried one more time. Five minutes in, the hostess finally showed up after ignoring three radio calls. She seemed annoyed that I had interrupted her morning, not even offering a greeting, simply asking how many. She took the shortest route to a table, dropping the menu on the table next the kitchen. When I hesitated, she glared at me. I just said"never mind" and decided to take me business elsewhere. As I walked away, she apparently couldn't resist the urge to say"well, have a nice day anyway." Went in for Thanksgiving lunch. Wife and friend ordered the Thanksgiving dinner. No problem there. I ordered the meatloaf but to my surprise they wouldn't have any available for an hour. Great food as always, you can never go wrong with the Cracker Barrel! The chicken and dumplings is always good! I tried one of the new biscuit specials and the green tomato gravy was a kicker! We enjoyed another good meal at this particular Cracker Barrel. As always the store is a fun place to look and shop. We arrived mid afternoon and were seated right away. The restaurant is very clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. My wife ordered the grilled chicken tenders and I had the grilled chicken salad. Our waiter was very friendly, as the staff was very helpful. I'd never been to a CB before so I was a little lost on where to pay lol but everyone was helpful and not annoyed. The food was not bad, the grilled cheese my daughter had was awesome. The Mac and cheese was on point. I had a steak and it was too lightly seasoned for my taste but a lil salt and pepper fixed that so no worries. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. If you were raised in the country like me, Cracker Barrel is a go to restaurant for your family, especially after a Sunday morning service at Church. I was across town today, and decided to get lunch there. When I walked in the hostess was extremely inviting, and joyful. She say me down to a table within two minutes, it was amazing how fast I sat down. However the best part in my opinion was my server. Her name was Sarah, and she was extremely welcoming and you could feel the joyful tone from her smile even through the mask she was wearing. She made great conversation, and got my order exactly right and the food came out in about 5 minutes. My family likes to travel and we stop at a Cracker Barrel every chance we get. I can proudly say i've been to over 35 (and counting) Cracker Barrel's across the nation. This was the best experience I've ever had at any Cracker Barrel. Always been a fan of Cracker Barrel.. wait has always been a problem but worth waiting ,Until today. We were greeted by Constance and checked in with 3 adults and 3 children. Reassured that when a table was available we would be seated promptly. This however wasn't the case someone was seated in out place by my name. The issue was rectified by an adorable young man by the name of Brayden and wonderful host by the name of Chase. I've been to many cracker barrels over the years in several different states and generally like them but have never been ignored by the staff. Left after 10 minutes and when they finally noticed and asked why, they didn't even bother to get a manager or form much of a response. Don't bother coming here. read more

First off I just want to say that I like eating at Cracker Barrel. But after my visit Monday night it may be a while before I return. A few weeks before I had take out and was missing parts of my order but being the stubborn person I am, I did not say anything. My visit last week the server spilled water on my food and my Country fried steak was swimming in grease. Thank goodness the manager comped one of my meals. So here comes Monday the 13th and the restaurant is dead. The server Dixie was extremely nice and ready to help any way she could. Usually this restaurant is super busy. Meh, it's a Cracker Barrel. I don't understand why people wait so long to eat here. They must be the same people who's favorite restaurant is Olive Garden or Red Lobster. We only ate here on a friends suggestion and, thankfully, didn't have to wait to be seated. I found the food to be pretty bland and unimaginative. Biscuits were hard and gravy needed salt. Service was fine and food arrive promptly. I like that the syrup comes in little glass bottles and in fact has at least SOME actual maple syrup and isn't pure high fructose corn syrup like most places. I'd much rather skip this chain and find a mom and pop place for breakfast. Prices are cheaper and food is usually better. read more

What has happened at cracker barrel? The biscuits were not good (short and greasy). The fried steak was some processed piece of over salted breaded patty. The gravy in the dumplings was watered down. The turkey was dry the dressing was fine thou. It really was not a good lunch. The coffee and tea were fine. Will not be going back for lunch or dinner any time soon. read more

We normally always go to the Cracker Barrel on Church St. Tonight we were on this side of town and tried it. This was the worst experience. We walked in at 9:10, they close at 10. We thought this would be a decent amount of time to eat and be gone by 10. No, we waited for a hostess for 10 minutes. Nobody else was waiting. Once we got seated, it took 15 minutes for someone to come take our drink orders. All of the staff seemed more worried about their closing duties than the customers in the restaurant. 3 more tables got sat after us and experience the same horror. We waited on our food for 30 minutes. We will never be back. read more

We came here for the first time we've never been to Cracker Barrel. We love it, from the rocking chairs, their gift shop and the whole dining experience. The service, the food, everything was good. Oh my god this was disgusting! We ordered pick up and they didn't tell us that our sides were not available until after we'd paid. The girl admitted they weren't allowed to tell customers about unavailable sides because they probably wouldn't order then. The food we DID get was cold, congeiled mess. The Chicken and Dumplings tasted like dish water, the macaronies were full of burnt pieces scraped off the bottom of the pan, the mashed potatoes were a tiny scoop of hard... something. Oh dear Cracker Barrel... what has happened to you? Normally we can count on you for a good meal, good quality, good service. Not stellar, but dependable and predictable. A good visit. However, seems something has gone wrong at this location. We were seated and waited quite a while before our server arrived. She took drink orders and got them wrong. No big deal, its o.k. We placed our orders and waited a very long time before finally asking the server how things were going.... she said she was sorry, it was taking longer because they were so busy. Actually, we were one of maybe 12 tables in the whole place. There were mostly empty tables in both rooms, and it was past the dinner rush hour. Interestlingly, we were seated nearby the kitchen and I don't know what the heck they were doing in there. We couldn't decide if they were laughing, fighting, or having a pep rally. Or an MMA fight. Or maybe they had a stripper back there. It was crazy. The food did finally arrive, and I played "find the chicken" in my chicken and dumplins. The dumplins were pretty gross, but to be honest there were about three times the normal amount. I picked on the meal until I was full and the plate was still loaded. I guess for most people that might be a plus, but I felt like the yahoos in the kitchen had just slopped a big ole pile of whatever on my plate... Cracker Barrel flunked on the things we count on them to deliver: good food, good quality and good service. Never again at this location, at least. read more

This is the most well run CB I've ever been in. The place was packed. I was told the wait for one person to be five mins and was seated in three. The host was exceptionally pleasant and engaging, as was my waitress, who was very attentive and sweet. The food was served hot and fresh and within five minutes! The manager stopped by to check in and I told her how impressed I was. The founding bros must have certainly envisioned that success would look just like this store, one well oiled machine. read more

I met here with an old friend for dinner. We were seated almost immediately. We ordered food and drinks. Her drink had a bug in it, which was entirely unacceptable and disgusting. When we notified the server, she acted like she didn't believe us, and held up the drink and looked at it. She did bring a new drink. We waited 25+ minutes on food, only to have the waiter come back and tell my friend they were out of what she ordered, which would have been nice to know 25 minutes prior. Then we waited about 15 more minutes, and FINALLY received some food. My food was great, my friend was less than happy with the substitute they offered. For some reason the waiter only brought us a few biscuits, and seemed annoyed when we asked for more. She took forever to split our check. The lady at the checkout counter was super nice. She asked how our food and service was, and when we told her she asked if we wanted to talk to a manager. But we knew they wouldn't do anything about it and didn't care, so we said no. Waitress sucked! After working night shift went in to have breakfast only to be given a rude waitress. Food was not what I expected. Never got a refill!!Waitress threw my to go box on top of my fiance's food while she was still eating. Addressed the issue with the manager on site and was only told it takes the waitress an hour to be on her game. Never again will I visit this establishment! As soon as I walked in I was immediately overwhelmed with all the tacky store items (does anyone actually buy these?). I enjoyed my pecan pancakes, but the syrup was so watery that I felt like I needed double what I was given. Bob Evans needs to build more restaurants in the south. We have visiting several Cracker Barrel restaurants and enjoyed them all however this one is now our favorite! The staff are all welcoming and friendly. Our server was excellent and offered suggestions based on her favorites which I loved! The food was perfect--hot, delicious, and was even served with our special request met. The manager was visible and greeted us upon entering the restaurant and wished us a good day upon exiting. We will definitely be eating at this Cracker Barrel in Murfreesboro again and will highly recommend it. read more
