This was the worst Cracker Barrel I have experienced. The bathroom was dirty, the hostess was anything but friendly and it took over 20 minutes to get a salad. My wife ordered a dinner salad and I ordered the grilled chicken salad. Hers came right away, but 20 minutes later, she was finished, I was still waiting on mine and the server was nowhere to be found! We arrived late and departed early so we weren't able to eat a meal at the Cracker Barrel today. We did hit up the "Old Country Store" part of the restaurant for a candy dessert and the restrooms were clean. Cracker Barrel tolerates RVers using their parking lot for overnights and this was a good one. Yes, my Sprinter van is converted into an RV. It was quiet and peaceful especially because they're not immediately next to the interstate. So we didn't get woken up through the night by truckers using their engine brakes. I left the local hospital to get a standard breakfast for my dad who cat eat much. I ordered the Old Timers Brekafast. Service - There were four people somewhat servicing the cash register, order to go and pick up line. They were nice, but I don't think anyone had ever trained them. They were engaged with customers maybe 3-5 of the 15 minutes I waited for my food. I've learned to stay close, some call your name, some treat you like an uber driver. I'm fine with that. I had to go to the hostess stand to give my order. At which point the cashier had called another service clerk out to take my order. Neither of us had an idea where the other was (simple fix - have a standard process - how many times a day ???). My order was taken and I hung out where I could be seen or watch the holding rack. I appreciate the young lady serving me remembering me and bringing it to me. Food - In a hurry to get back, I didn't check my order which I always do, short of unwrapping things at a restaurant . When I got back I had four packs of butter, no gravy (as stated on the standard), no jelly and no sugar for the grits. Biscuits looked nice , in earnest, but nothing g for them but butter. This store is in drastic need of customer facing training, quality orientation to food and someone who gives the appearance of managing the whole thing. read more

Old country cooking.. with old country shopping. That sums up Cracker Barrel. The restaurant has everything from breakfast to salads, sandwiches, fish, fried chicken, a turkey dinner, meatloaf, etc.. Breakfast is served all day. They have a long list of side dishes to accompany your meal. The store has lots of vintage candy, toys for kids, clothing, and cool Knickknacks. There's lots of interesting things here. It's a good place to get that gift for sometime. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with this particular location. To begin with, my server brought the wrong entree out. She then later brought my salad with my entree. I had hoped to eat the salad first. I ordered fish wish came out black with a large bone in it. The fish tasted nothing like I've gotten at other crackle barrels. My server never came back to refill my drink or ask how my meal was. It was not the best experience. Cracker Barrel has gone way down in service since becoming active in politics...in the past they consistently had great food and great service and because we move around the country a lot we would make it a point to stop for a meal there as often as possible. So I was super-disappointed at our recent experience with Cracker Barrel in Paducah. I had ordered a Cobb salad and when it was served it had green- tinged looking bacon on it (that also a appeared to be old and cold -not the fresh, warm bacon crumbles that they used to have on their Cobb salads when they made them fresh). I asked the waiter if I could get some fresh bacon and pointed out that it was green- looking and was told that that was the way the "bacon is supposed to look". I pointed out my husband's and my son's bacon that came with their pancakes and said that their bacon wasn't green or cold. The waiter disappeared for a while and when he came back to ask if we wanted refills on our drinks he said that he had asked about the bacon but as for replacing it "they don't do that." When I asked about getting another salad I was told "they all look like that." He left the bill and disappeared for the final time without asking if I would like to order something else instead. If Cracker Barrel in Paducah would spend less time on being woke and more time on good customer service and making good food then we might be back...as for now we'll eat elsewhere...like at Bob Evan's in Paducah (both the service and the food was great the following weekend). read more

We have been going to Cracker Barrel in Paducah, Ky for at least 15 years but no more. Our wait to see a server was 10 minutes, noticed a new menu and prices have gone up at least 10% across the board, 10 more minutes to order and 30 minutes to get our food. Green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy were cold. Meat Loaf was warm. We got our silverware after our food was delivered and one of the two sets was dirty. I stopped at CB on the way through Paducah. It was New Years Day the service was very slow and the server I had made excuses for mistakes she herself made. When I got my food, it looked terrible and all of it was cold. I had chicken strips and the plate was full of Greece so much that it ran on the plate. The biscuits that they brought were had as a rock. When the server brought me some more unsweet tea, I found out the hardware it was sweet tea. I'm all for kitschy theme restaurants, but my love for this country bumpkin'-style restaurant chain is gone now that I had a bad experience. Overcooked chicken fried chicken, pricey sides and lackluster service. The menu seems strangely like cafeteria food. If you've eaten at Luby's--a mostly Texas chain--the menus are very similar, though Luby's has better food. They definitely cater to seniors here. The chicken fried chicken was just so-so, but only because I was spoiled by the best chicken fried chicken in the country: Treebeards, in Houston. The fried okra was more breading than actual vegetable. The worst part of the meal was when I dripped a yellow liquid from a small bottle on my biscuits, thinking it was honey. When I asked the waitress what it was, she looked at me and said, "It's our apple cider vinegar for your greens," and gave me a look like I was an alien asking why people put ketchup on french fries. I don't care how routine or "Southern" putting apple cider vinegar on greens is; it tastes disgusting--especially when you think it's honey, and you want to liven up dull biscuits. We all know what you get at Cracker Barrel, right? They are have the same food and the same strore and the same prices (I think) and you get the picture. What makes them different? The service. Well, that's what pushes this one into the 2-star realm. I've been here quite a few times, it's my local CB. Most recently it was on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived with out (large) family. We told them that we were a party of 12 and they told us the wait would be 30 minutes. Cool, we'll play checkers and look at the toy section. Afer 30 minutes, they called us forward, but only to ask if it was okay to split us up into 3 tables of 4. We told them that was fine if they were all in the same room. We kept waiting. Over and over, other parties of 4 kept getting called. Still, no luck. I spent 20 of those minutes in the dining room playing checkers and trying to occupy time with my kids watching the fireplace. I could see potential tables opening up, but it seemed like there was a disconnect between the host stand and the people in the dining room. Finally, after waiting a full hour...we left. Not one bit of complaint when I asked her to crisp my bacon up. We inhaled our breakfast and then left a decent tip (40 percent) told her manager and were so grateful for her service. Hard to find. My spouse ordered the sampler plate. We both ordered ice tea. After waiting for 27 min our server brought out our food. It was obvious mine was sitting under lights as the mashed potatoes were crusted over and the chicken was extremely dry. My spouse's order came without meatloaf and she said they ran out but he could get more ham or chicken and dumplings (?). Seriously? Don't inform until food is being brought out? My spouse said "I'll wait for the meatloaf". While we were eating we both ran out of ice tea. Sat for 8-10 min for server to return and saw our tea was empty and she said they ran out (?)! Seriously? That being said the waitress and staff there had no clue how to serve a large group of tables. The waitress would take 1 or two tables worth of orders, put them in, get their drinks, get the food, move on to the next table. She could not deal with more than 2 tables at once. The first table was done with breakfast before 1/2 of he tables even got water delivered. We finally got waited on when a waitress that got called in early showed up to help. The food, when we got it, was bland and either over or under cooked. I suspect the same issue in the kitchen as the service. I don't normally choose Cracker Barrel for a meal since I usually get this kind of service and food when I do but it was not my call this time. read more

The restaurant is really a trendy southern style gift shop posing as a restaurant. I was there for breakfast a few days ago. The service was slow but my server was very nice. The buttermilk pancakes I ordered were dense, soggy and tasted of grease. The worst thing though was the coffee flavored water. $2.50 is just ridiculous for one of the worst cups of coffee I have ever had at any restaurant. You would be better off having coffee and pancakes at McDonald's at half the price. read more

We walked in expecting to have a decent breakfast for my grandfather's 69th birthday. The hostess seated us in a section and left, not bothering to mention that the section WAS CLOSED! The male host didn't bother correcting her when she was selecting where to seat us. We waited 10-15 minutes for someone to even take our drink order. A server asked if someone had taken our orders, to which we said "No. No one's even come by here." We were close to walking out when the server finally took our drink orders as well as our breakfast orders. She said she would speak to the manager about this. The manager was the one who informed us that the section was closed. We told her that no one said a thing about that. We then wound up waiting 30+ minutes just to get our food when they said that they weren't even busy! It had been over a year since we had been to this restaurant and we'll never go there again. Always been a C.B. fan but last week my wife and I ate there. She got meatloaf which was uneatable. I tried a bite of it too and had to spit it out in a napkin. Tasted like gasoline poured over it. They took its back and brought her beef roast. I guess beef cost more than meatloaf because they raised the cost of her dinner to the cost of roast beef instead of comping her meal.
