Really didn't want to write this review but may should be aware. I waited over 40 minutes for my food just to receive raw chicken. We were the only table in there too. I know mistakes can happen so I had asked my waitress how long for new food to be remade will take and she said well I don't know about how long you had to wait for this one. Got the chicken fried chicken dinner tonight. Overall, it was good. Chicken tasted great, gravy, fries, muffin, biscuits and green beans were fine. Carrots on the flip side were meh . Service was great. I can appreciate that the order was correct and they even included flatware. Some ketchup for the fries would have been nice. We went for a late breakfast and we were seated promptly. Our server was really friendly. The ambiance was very pleasant. We had the biscuits with butter and they were delicious. Our Server Was Clay and he was Amazing!!! He was so friendly, helpful and attentive. I few things came from the kitchen wrong and he realized it before we did, took the plate and very quickly it was corrected. We came here on a Thursday morning while doing business in the area. There were very few places in the area that offered breakfast that had above a 2 star rating , so by default, we ended up here. I have always loved walking through Cracker Brarrel and looking at the cute trinkets they sell. The ambiance was like entering the home of family,it was warm and welcoming. The gregarious hostess greeted us and asked if it was our first time there, and we answered yes, so she then gave us birthday cake candy canes before we were seated. Our waitress was attentive and amicable. I was in a celebratory mood, so I ordered a Strawberry Mimosa. It comes in a glass that is not common for mimosas, but it was still very good and was the highlight of my meal. I ordered the Build Your Own HomeStyle Breakfast. My meat choice for my meal was the Spicy Chicken Sausage, which they did not have any defrosted, and I wasn't interested in any other meat or meatless options. My meatless meal came with 2 scrambled egg whites and fruit plus biscuits and gravy. As far as my meal, the fruit was fresh and tasty, the rest was forgettable. I ended up having 3 mimosas to give you an idea of how good they were. My husband had the Momma's Pancake Breakfast and enjoyed his entire meal. The restaurant was clean, including the restroom. Customer Service was a 5, hands down we had a wonderful experience from the hostess, our waitress and the Lady who checked us out. It was odd that there weren't many cars in the parking lot and from the outside I could see not many tables were set. But when we walked in, we were hit with a rancid smell of either sewage or not properly maintained grease traps so nasty we left, and people walked in as we were leaving and immediately turned around to exit as well due to the smell. read more

She was quick, only thing was she forgot a take-out box, asked another employee who was standing around and he got me a take-out box as soon as I asked. It was stuck to the paper and difficult to eat. The food was warm but not hot. Was told the bread was coming but never got done. Arrived with a party of nine. I told the host to take his time, no rush to be seated. the host decided to put three tables together even though I explained that we could separate. Anyway, he put three tables together near a passage way. Four employees came to the dining room talking about where we were seated and pointing. I'm a huge fan of Cracker Barrel Restaurants. With that being said this one was a huge disappointment. We were staying at the Best Western right next door and we were looking forward to having dinner there. We got there in time for the early bird dinners. I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy and steamed broccoli. My sister ordered the steak tips with mashed potatoes and gravy and the corn. Oh and I ordered the onion petals for our appetizer thinking that they would be similar to Outbacks blooming onion. Nope not even close. They were fried in oil that should have been changed last week! Ok on to dinner. Meatloaf was ok. Mashed potatoes were an extreme disappointment. I'm pretty sure that they were instant and had absolutely no flavor. The best part was the steamed broccoli. The first time she brought it to the table with my dinner she spilled it all over the table. She apologized and asked me if I wanted her to bring me another order of it. Hummm that was kinda a weird question since I tea didn't want to eat broccoli that had been spilled on the table. My sister said that the steak tips were a disappointment and the corn tasted like metal. Her opinion of the mashed potatoes was the same as mine. Once we were seated, the waitress came and took our order and told us she would bring us some biscuits and cornbread. 45 minutes later we received the biscuits and cornbread. No napkins. When we asked for napkins we were given the brown paper towel napkins that are used in the restrooms. 1 hour and 10 minutes after being seated and ordering our food, our food was finally delivered. The order was incorrect. The manager did not want to try and fix the problem. When we got to the register to pay, we asked to speak with the manager again but she never showed. We were not the only table that asked to speak with the manager regarding issues with our service/food. There were 5 other tables with the same experience. Also, our waitress was very rude. This place was DIRTY, with terrible food! NASTY! We should have gotten up and left when we sat down at the dirty, sticky table with the dirty sticky gross menus we were handed! Chair next to be had gravy or some white slimy substance all over it too! Ordered our food, ten minutes later waitress came out to say they have no MASHED POTATOES left! I said then I want to change my order because Chicken Fried Chicken doesn't go with french fries! She said the order was already in, so we didn't have the choice of changing our order now! My chicken was dry, the french fries were greasy, the bowl of corn was cold, could it get any worse than this? My wife's Chicken N Dumplings were a bowl of tasteless mush! No texture whatsoever to the dumplings, mush is the best way I can describe them! When they told her as well they had no more mashed potatoes, she opted for a side of "Sausage Gravey" figured that would taste good over the four dried out biscuits they brought over to the table. YUCK! Nasty, tasted like paste with Ham Grease in it! No pork sausage, nothing but a white creamy substance that even the waitress was laughing at! The only thing even close to edible on the table was the Macaroni and Cheese and it was dried out but we picked at it like a couple of birds trying to get a little nutrition in our stomachs after a six-hour drive from Florida heading home to Michigan! I knew we should have gone to the Waffle House next door, but the wife insisted on Cracker Barrel because she said they have such a large selection of food! This was the most disgusting, gross, meal we have ever been served, we will never ever set foot in another Cracker Barrel in our lives and now I know why they let campers park in the back taking up all of the parking spaces for free, because that's the only way they are going to get people to come in there and eat this nasty stuff not fit for a dog! Even the gals at the front check out were laughing about our experience, they did offer to get the Manager and I was like whats the point??? We weren't trying to get a free meal, we just wanted a fair hot meal with all the fixings like they advertise and instead we had the worse meal we have ever had at any restaurant in our entire life! Don't spend the $45.15 we gave you too quickly, because it is the last dime you will ever see from this customer, Cracker Barrel should be ashamed of themselves! Tonight couldn't have been worse. Been coming to this location since 2001.. Server was very rude and did not bring us drinks for the first 20 minutes.. barely spoke at all. manager on the floor, handled everything extremely poorly, ... he just continued to bus tables while literally everyone was getting up and leaving.. he watched us leave and he never even greeted us. Start by saying. I gave it a good 15 min. Before I walked out. At least 4 servers walked by one said he would get a server. 3 more min. No server and a whole 6 top greeted and have drinks. I work in the service industry I actually manage I know you have sections. The parking lot was empty. It was not busy inside. So here I am at long horn. Sat, greeted, food ordered, complementary bread and a liquor drink in less than 5 min. And my server has a smile on her face. Cracker Barrel has always been one of those memorable places we've stopped at while traveling with our kids & now with just the two of us. But as with most things it seems, times they have changed! With that being said this review is strictly geared to this particular Cracker Barrel, located in Perry, Georgia. We were seated right away not by the hostess but by a waitress. Ok, but after 5 maybe 6 minutes I had to ask that same waitress if someone could wait on us. This was not, in our experience a normal Cracker Barrel encounter. The place appeared not to be busy which lead to our confusion. Only the front section was occupied with 6 tables. Our waitress when she came over, was a bit snippy at first especially while taking our order. Not a smile, how are you or even a welcome to Cracker Barrel table greeting. I don't believe she was very happy that we had to ask for service. She did however try to be cordial as the experience went on so I'll give her that. The food came out fairly fast with a runner but without biscuits. After a minute or two our waitress came over & stated the biscuits were still baking & they would bring some out when they got out of the oven. Now this maybe a new norm with Cracker Barrel, not having enough biscuits on hand at any one time, I'm not sure. Our breakfast was half way through but we did get the biscuits. Now here's a pet peeve of mine when it comes to eggs. Don't ask me how I'd liked them prepared if you only fry or scramble. To my surprise we were informed after asking, that Cracker Barrel does not & did not poach or baste eggs. Our waitress was matter of fact with that announcement & seemed annoyed that I even asked. Guess others have inquired as well at some point or another. Now onto taste, well there in lies a contradiction of the word. There really was none! Let me back that statement up a bit, the bacon was extremely greasy, we had to use our napkins to pat them dry & then wipe our plates off. So yeah the bacon had some taste...grease. Eggs are eggs, a little salt & pepper gives flavor so that's that but the grits lacked in any taste except for, you guessed it, grease . Don't even want to entertain the thought on how that was achieved. The gravy tasted like flour paste & so on. Enough of that you get the idea. Now onto the bill which I very rarely talk about but in this case.... We ordered the 'Build Your Own Breakfast' which questions arose when the check came between my husband & myself about pricing. At this point we could only laugh & suppressed any conversation with our waitress. But in a nutshell it seems, at least in our recent experience, if what you order is close to another higher priced breakfast let's say the 'Old Timers' then that's what you're billed for. Mind you It wasn't much more but still people, really? This Cracker Barrel like most we've visited was clean, the show room/store area was well stocked & presentable.
