We loved everything about our breakfast, I ordered the biscuits and gravy along with a side of sausage and hash browns. Everything is made to order so be prepared to wait a moment for your food to come out - I wish we knew this ahead of time so we coulda called in our order. My husband had the steak and eggs and swapped his grits for hash browns. My daughter ordered a pancake meal and she actually ate everything! She said it was some of the best pancakes she's ever had. We live about 15 miles from here but never had the opportunity to go. We ventured out one "off day" to give it a try. We had so many friends tell us to go try and finally we went. We were not disappointed. We got there 30 min before closing because we looked on google and it said they close at 6 when really they close at 1:30 They were very kind. The food was delicious. We both got a burger & potato salad. My husband burger was missing the egg so they immediately took it back and fixed it. The ambiance of the place is so nostalgic. Love the train station setting. Railroad Cafe's jerk chicken quesadilla has been my husband and I's favorite go-to meal in Fort Valley as it is a small town with not many options. We did our usual combo today (double jack pancakes with an order of jerk chicken quesadilla x3) I placed the order by phone and my husband went out to grab it while running another errand in the town. Upon sitting down and eating our meals we immediately noticed how skimp the chicken was this time around. We get this meal alllll the time so we're pretty familiar with the amount of chicken usually given in each quesadilla- which immediately upsets me. It was not just done on 1 order but all 3 orders. My order specifically had the least amount of chicken as one of my quesadillas had a big empty area with no filling (so basically just tortilla bread) The 3rd order was untouched and you could see where half of the quesadillas were verrryyy thin. This was unacceptable for me and I decided to go up to the restaurant and request another order of the quesadillas in hopes of getting customer satisfaction. I brung in my half eaten order and the order not touched at all. Upon arrival I informed the cashier of my complaint. He tried to brush it off and say the cook just didn't spread the chicken evenly but I know that is not true as like I stated before we have had this specific meal numerous of times- my memory serves me well and I absolutely KNOW that this was dramatically skimped. He goes to the back and informs the cook (who's apparently the owner of the restaurant).. "Boss Man" immediately becomes offended and argumentative with me when discussing my complaints. He again tried to brush it off and say he just didn't spread it all the way on the tortilla. Now, I am a polite person but was in strong disagreeance. In a rage, he goes "this order was made 1 hour ago I'm not making this sh*t again!!" "You've already eaten half of the order!" "Well what do you want me to do?!" I tell him I would like for him to just remake the orders with more chicken. He goes "I'M NOT DOING THAT! I'll just give you your refund back!" He walks off from me and storms into the back throwing a tantrum- yelling and slamming things. Very loud, very obnoxious and lacks customer service etiquette! I got my refund but left this restaurant extremely uneasy! Jeff Hall will not be receiving anymore of me and my husband's hard-earned money. We now eat here at least twice a week. It is our favorite Middle Ga restaurant. The food is fresh and full of flavor. The shrimp and grits are the best I have had. Jeff, the owner, and the staff are local and super friendly. We really enjoy going Friday or Saturday evening. It is a short drive from Warner Robins and Perry. Nice surprise! We came at breakfast time, the food was tasteful with that homemade quality. It was indeed very good. I had sausage with my meal & it was spicy just the way I like it. Ordering is done when you come in then someone brings to you. The lady we ordered from took her time with us being our first experience. The cafe itself was as the name indicates decorated with railroad memorabilia including photos. . It was clean, light & opened areas making it feel roomy. Visiting my mom from Colorado and she lives near Everett square so we went to the railroad cafe this morning for breakfast because she enjoys this place. First off, it's awesome that it's in a historic old train station but bonus...the food was yummy too! We really enjoyed the Hogger breakfast wrap, so we will be back for more soon. Side note, definitely gotta check out their lunch menu sometime too, it has some interesting looking items. Extra side note: Fort Valley literally has one or two restaurants that aren't fast food, people in the area or stopping through need to get out and give this place a try and support a local business. The Cafe does a great job with breakfast. The sandwiches are good and their grits may very well be the best I have ever eaten. The lunch menu, however, is more hit and miss. They have this messy everything type of hot dog that is sloppily awesome. They also have wraps that are just adequate. Arrived from WR to try the RR Cafe for the first time. It was 10:50am and they told us they weren't accepting anymore orders. I asked if they were closed for 30 mins or the remainder of the day and the lady told me for the remainder of the day after deferring to her manager. He stated they already had too many orders. Perhaps the food is amazing, but stop the phone orders and have a waiting line to dine in so there is predictably before someone drives 30 mins to discover the business is closed for the remainder of the day at 10:50 in the morning. Needless to say, I didn't try the food, so as of now it rates down there with everything else around. Our family comes through this area a good bit lately, so we thought we would check this place out. Price point was average for what you get for a sandwich at $6.50-ish. Add $2.00 for a side & drink. I was excited to see that they had several Kid Menu options, but ended up being sorely disappointed when we discovered that the grilled cheese was really HALF a sandwich, burned enough that my kids just picked at it. Very nice staff, really cool ambiance despite a few dead bugs and cobwebs in window seals. Hubby reports Shrimp and Grits were yummy. Chicken salad, brownie and sweet tea were good as well. One of those places that every small town needs, but probably wouldn't survive in a town a bit bigger. This place could really be something great with a few improvements. My brother recommended this place to me, and, while in town on business, I decided to give it a try, ordering the Twin Engine plain with cheese, cooked medium rare, along with the Caboose. First, the Twin Engine. This is two half pound all beef patties, hand pattied in house, and, more importantly, cooked to order and desired doneness, something too many places simply don't do. It was messy, as one should expect, when having two patties cooked medium rare, but, man, was it ever good, juicy, cheesy, and, again, a pound of beef, perfectly seasoned. Haven't honestly had a burger this good since moving back from Oklahoma, and Boom a Rang's. The Twin Engine even puts the Shawnee Restaurant's 1lb. Homestyle Burger to shame. A note of caution. The RR Cafe does not serve fries, but chips are available as a side item. I opted for the Caboose instead. What the Caboose is is a lot of Frito pie, which is Fritos(or another corn chip brand)covered in chili(the house chili with beans), cheese, jalapenos, onions, and sour cream on the side. It was good, but the corn chips were a bit too soggy, and their taste and texture obscured by the other ingredients. I think a better quality corn chip would be in order, because, aside from that, it was delicious. read more
