Let me begin by stating that for years, my family and I have enjoyed dining at CB. However, over the last few months, I've been very disappointed with the quality of food and the changes they have made. I hope they can bring the old CB back. But let's move forward to this particular restaurant. I arrived around 8 am to find that there was only one couple in the entire restaurant, besides myself. After being seated, I had to ask the waitress to move me to another table, due to the foul odor from the table/and or chairs. She moved me one table over, but I could still smell the odor. I placed my order and then began looking around...I couldn't believe how dirty the floors were. I might could understand if it was near closing or during a busy time, but it was 8 am. The floors were filthy, as seen in the photos When I did get my food, my grits were barely warm. I made the waitress aware and she offered to have the grits reheated but At this point I was so turned off by the filth that I just wanted to finish and leave. Holy Cow I guess I'm a sucker to keep trying Cracker Barrel in Tupelo but........went for breakfast, seated promptly, waitress was quick, brought drinks, took order all was good! A group of 6 came in about 5-10 minutes after we sat! Next thing we knew they were getting their food, ours was no where in site! Waitress came back ask to confirm our order! Don't know why! No explanation of why she needed confirmation, probably order lost! ????? Another 5-20 minutes she shows up with food! My eggs were not what I ordered but took them anyway as already there 35 minutes or more! Food had improved from my last review and honestly thought there might be something good happening! Guess we just have to accept mediocre at Cracker Barrel! Sad! read more

I mean... it's Cracker Barrel. You don't go because the food is amazing. You go because you already know exactly what's on the menu and that it's the same frozen-from-Sysco food warmed up with love (and by love, I mean a microwave). Comforting in its own way. BUT -- our waitress? An absolute angel. The sweetest thing this side of the Mississippi. She is the reason for the 5 stars. My mom is elderly, and this woman doted on her like she was her own grandmother. Truly made our lunch feel like a 5-star experience. I swore I wouldn't forget her name... and yet here we are. A couple of items were missing from our order, and she fixed everything instantly, no fuss. I ordered the grilled chicken salad (yes, I know -- who orders that at Cracker Barrel?), and she even had the chicken put on the side so my lettuce wouldn't wilt. How sweet is that?! My mom always has a complicated vegetable plate order, and our waitress made sure every single thing was just right. She really elevated the whole meal. The restaurant itself? Same as every other Cracker Barrel in America -- same decor, same little country store full of things you don't need but suddenly want. Which, honestly, is part of the charm. You go for the rocking chairs and the shopping almost as much as the food. If all Cracker Barrels had service like this, they'd be unstoppable. read more

If you've been to a Cracker Barrel, you know the drill. Like this one (1), they are usually, conveniently, just off main travel route exits for quick access and familiarity. You walk through the gift shop and into the dining area. This like others, has the traditional old country store feel and decor. We came for breakfast and were seated promptly. I had the Country Boy breakfast which was steak tips, eggs, biscuits with gravy, and two (2) sides. The food was great, the service friendly. My only complaint is the very long wait for food, despite not being busy at all. For that significant wait without any real explanation, I have to knock it down to four (4) stars. I'll probably give it another try sometime soon, to see if it was just a one (1) off on the wait time. If so, I'll update my rating accordingly. read more

Have never been at a chain restaurant was so bad. Server did not know what I wanted on menu. Service slow, when it came my order was wrong. Toppings wrong, half left off, half left off was nasty, mushrooms, kale I think. Menu said get 2sides, then charged for side, the one wanted they were out of it. Let me start by saying whenever we travel this is our breakfast place. The waiter was so sweet at this location. I enjoyed my breakfast with my husband while we were in Pontotoc, Ms. This area is very boring to come and stay for a while but we were here for work. I just love the hash brown casserole, the Moms signature breakfast, and the hot skillets. You just can't go wrong with this place. The ambiance is always welcoming and friendly. Idk where to start. This place is so below par but has good food. This is my SO favorite place to eat and I always hate when she wants to come here. Every time we go here the service is a complete hit or miss. We always have to sit around for 30+ minutes to get sat and when we do get sat, it's like no server wants to make eye contact because they don't want to greet the table. We always have to wait 10+ additional minutes to even get our drinks. I really try not to be critical because there's normally a ton of people here but geez it doesn't take but a few minutes to get a round of drinks. I'm not bashing all the servers, there are a good handful that always give us a great time but there are some that don't. I have been a server before, so I do understand being in the weeds, but no one shows any sense of urgency at this restaurant. If you have absolutely nothing to do for the next 3 hours. Sad to say but Cracker Barrel is just gone to the dogs everywhere I've visited. Whereas once the table got a big basket of biscuits and cornbread, now you only get it if it's part of your meal and they're carefully counted out. The food is just bland and straight out of a can from somewhere and it's almost always lukewarm by the time it gets to the table. Wanted to leave zero stars but that was not an option. I'm not the type to leave reviews, but this needs shared. Worst experience I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel. Ordered instantly, at the same time as our drink order. Out of almost everything, it's a Sunday evening so understandable that they have been busy. Picked substitute meals and sides from what was originally ordered - one refill the entire time we were there. Went for a second refill and never got those brought back. Sat for well over an hour with 3 young kids and never received our food or an update on our order. Waitress was nowhere to be found. Finally asked her what was going on and was told that we were just then third in line to receive our order after over an hour of waiting. Asked for the ticket to pay for drinks - nearly $16 for drinks with one refill. Cashier was appalled that we were paying for drinks without ever receiving our meals. This is one of the nicest Cracker Barrel's we've ever been to while traveling. Super clean, delicious food and the nicest staff.

The staff does not pay attention to the guest or know the menu. I asked for a bowl of beans and received a small side dish. When I asked about the bowl she said that they didn't have a bowl on the menu so I had to get one and show her. Then when I got the bowl of beans they were almost cold. I had to got to the waitress station to get a drink refill. I saw a manager seat guests at a dirty table when there was a bunk of empty clean tables. It would been nice if the hostess would have told us that they are going to be closing soon. We would have left and went somewhere else. When you have small children they talk, pittle around, and be kids. So a meal for us takes longer for us to eat. My family and I came in around 8:15 PM or so. We did not realize that this restaurant was going to close at 9. We thought that it closed at 10. But apparently that is only the weekend. Our fault we get it. The food came out decent but my wife and I was not very happy when we only received 4 biscuits (only 3 are in the picture) and the biscuits that were given to us seemed like they were the castoffs biscuits. When we asked the waitress about the biscuits she told us that is that all that they had. My kids got hot chocolate it was going to take 10-15 minutes to make. Why couldn't we have fresh decent looking biscuits ? In that timeframe . We would have bought the rest of biscuits that were made. If we would've been communicated with about them. Due to the waitress response to the biscuits we felt that we would have gotten the same treatment from the manager. So we just left it alone. read more

Drove to Mississippi from Connecticut and stopped in at Cracker Barrel for dinner. It was the worst I've had in a long time. I had a breakfast plate with pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage. The sausage patties looked and tasted like the frozen Jimmy Dean stuff you buy at the grocery store. The eggs looked and tasted like they'd been microwaved. The pancakes were ok but the syrup was watery and super sweet. My husband had ordered a burger which he said was ok but nothing to really comment on. My daughter had gotten a crispy chicken sandwich which she also said was just ok. Apparently the best thing served to us was the Mac and cheese. Will never eat at another Cracker Barrel read more

Giving this Cracker Barrel is giving it a compliment it doesn't desire. Monday we went there for breakfast. It was almost 1 hr. And 15 mins before we got our food. We have been coming since it opened at least 2 times a week. The last few times we have experienced long waiting times when you can see open tables, long waiting times after ordering, servers having to clean off tables; taking orders; delivering food;refilling drinks, while trying to keep clients happy. We appreciate servers like Betty and Janet when we see how hard they work, underneath extreme bad management. Today, we were there for lunch 30 minutes later no food. We went to the Cracker Barrel restaurant; they very rudely informed us there was a one and half hour wait. We would have possibly stayed but they basically ignored us as if we were invisible and they were talking to someone one the phone instead of in person. Sad there is no such thing as customer service anymore. We have been there repeatedly before but have never been treated so rudely. Well, the eggs came out, they were supposed to come with biscuits, but biscuits weren't done yet ..not for eight minutes, so I guess we were supposed to sit there and wait eight minutes while the eggs sit there and get even colder than when they were set on the table, I talk to the shift manager and she just said "well we don't time our food with our biscuits" and she walked away !!! What a horrible place ..she was rude, never again for me, or for the two tables next to me ...shift manager should not be so rude and they need to get it together. Our waitress Lakin C. did not take very good care of us. I waited for a refill for 30 minutes. She never came to check on us but walked by our table multiple times. Not at all like our Cracker Barrel at home in Missouri. Just passing through on the way on a trip and on a Tuesday evening... the wait during a non-rush period was 32 minutes for our party of four. Once seated, our waitress took 20 minutes to get to our table. I imagine it was short staffed. All the tables were scrunched into one half of the dining room, which was somewhat unsettling in a pandemic. Our food was just subpar compared to what we get usually. The green beans were not seasoned well, the mashed potatoes was a cold, dry clump, and the corn was dry, rubbery, and well past their prime. I have been to a lot of Cracker Barrel's all over the south. Never have I ever been this unhappy with one. I arrive and I am seated 15 min after my arrival. No big deal. But once I am seated the smell of mildew hits me. Then it takes my waiter 30 min to come take my order over an hour and still no food. Then when I revived my food it was a very small portion. We ordered Dressing and other side dishes for Thanksgiving. When we opened the containers there were 2 containers of Mashed Potatoes and NO DRESSING. We called several times to inform them that the DRESSING was missing, but after they finally answered I was put on hold them they hung up the phone. Well this was our favorite family place to eat until today. Our waitress was a bit spacey and didn't have it all together. We ordered our food and were disappointed some of the menus items were no longer available- which is why we went in the first place. Our food was not that good. For the first time ever I can say that. Absolutely no flavor - salt and pepper didn't even fix it and it was like our food had been sitting in a warmer for a while. Nobody goes hungry at the Cracker Barrel! Service was delightful and personal with extra attention paid to the kids and perfectly timed delivery of biscuits for the table. We had a large group (10!) and although our food was delivered at staggered intervals, it was all at an enjoyable temperature and prepared exactly as expected. Drinks were kept refilled and our check was easily split. This is the perfect longer stop on a road trip when you have time and also need a kid friendly spot to let the littles burn off some energy with rocking chairs and a safe porch to walk around. read more

Ordered the ribeye steak. The steak came out cooked rare, as I requested. The steak had little flavor and it was like chewing on a piece of leather. The macaroni and cheese side had no flavor whatsoever, although the sweet potato casserole and mashed potatoes with gravy were very flavorful. Both my server, Dylan M., and a manager, promptly worked to make things right. Unfortunately, when I got to my hotel, the replacement steak was a lot tastier, but most of it was fat and gristle (about half of the steak). Needless to say, I probably would not order ribeye at Cracker Barrel in the future, and I definitely wouldn't visit this location.
