I've been going to Georgie's for over 20 years and I'm sad to say it's started to go downhill. They used to have the best friend chicken that I would dip in honey but the batter on this chicken was lack luster. The taters and gravy were the same. Staff still friendly. I have eaten chicken livers a many a time in my 59 years on this earth but those had to be the best chicken livers I have ever put in my mouth! The biscuit was good soft and flaky and the slaw was good but the star of the show was the livers. I will definitely be going back when I go see the grandkids! We were just driving through and found this local joint. Food is great and service was fast. We have 10 in our party and we hardly had to wait. We must have come after a rush, the dinning room was a little messy but not trashy. The bathrooms were clean and with littles that makes a big difference. Overall, a great experience read more

The sides aren't great at all and not seasoned well other than the slaw, the mashed potatoes are sadder than a prison wedding and whoever cooks them must think salt is gold leaf. The fries are basic and nothing to brag about but $6.99 for more of a homemade burger, fries and a drink you really can't go wrong. I would give the food and efficiency of service a 5 star review but many of the servers themselves put a bad taste in my mouth. Multiple times in the drive thru, we have dealt with unkind, disrespectful, and rude servers. One young lady very noticeably rolled her eyes when asked to add a couple of biscuits to the order we had placed, when we had tried to add them at the speaker but with no response. She went on to be cold and silent when we apologized for obviously causing her frustration. This is not the first time something like this has happened. We get that you have bad days, but it is pretty common at this point to receive rudeness and disrespectful behavior from the workers almost every time we go, especially from the drive thru window. A few lessons from management on customer service and general respectfulness would be helpful! Except for Callie, who is a young lady who has been especially helpful and kind every time she's served us--a rarity amongst other workers we've met. read more

I was down to see a customer and we went to George's. I walked in and saw a cheeseburger on someones plate that looked delicious. I thought to myself, i should get one but I'm in a chicken place. I ordered 3 pieces. of chicken and a cheeseburger. I will say this, the cheeseburger was amazing and I am craving one right now, but that's not the half of it. The chicken was INSANE!! Just barely a mile off the highway is the cute little town of New Albany, MS and there you will find George's. The gal at the Pilot told us about it - where she said we could get real food and boy was she right! The biscuit was quite simply the best and I mean the best I've ever had anywhere. Sorry, grandma! Light as air, buttery - so much so that for the first time in my life when asked if I wanted butter I said "doesn't need it". Yeah it was that good. The fried chicken was amazing - the kind of fried chicken where the skin and the breading become one. Juicy, tender, crispy and just delicious. I Absolutely love George's food! One of the only places locally I can think of to get fried chicken livers ( they are excellent from here). They also offer Milkshakes, burgers, fried chicken (spicy & regular), grilled or fried chicken sandwich and many other options. A great dessert is the strawberry biscuit ( a scoop of soft serve with a biscuit and strawberries). The staff are not overtly friendly but are courteous and efficient. On my way home from a two-day golf trip to West Point, I needed some good food. I called the most knowledgeable person I know from New Albany, my daughter-in-law. She recommended George's because it's her favorite burger place there. She said the chicken (on the bone, not tenders) is her mom's favorite. I had a hard time choosing, but I ended up going with her favorite. It didn't disappoint. Burger was good, fries were also good, and I couldn't help having a biscuit with some honey on it. We ordered milkshakes tonight. We sat in line and then sat at the window for 10 minutes as they made our order, gave us our partial order, realized it was wrong and took the one milkshake back. It looked like there was an issue in the kitchen. Eventually, we got our milkshakes and drove off. Once we got home, we realized the second milkshake was the wrong flavor. I called to let the manager know something was going on In the kitchen and even after 10 minutes at the window we got the wrong order. The girl that answered the phone was nice, at first. After I asked to speak to the manager, she called the manager to the phone without putting me on hold. She said, "Jeff, someone would like to speak to the manager please, I think her name is Karen." Incredibly rude and uncalled for lack of customer service from the girl answering the phone. We won't be back. read more
