Now we understand why this Cracker Barrel has 2 stars on Yelp. Had we had read it before, we'would had chosen to dine at the all you can eat Chinese buffet down the road instead. The store, bathroom and restaurant were clean and inviting. The service was fast and caring, and the food was marginal at best. We ordered a chicken friend steak with french fries and fried okra, and the meatloaf with Mac n'cheese and mashed potatoes. We also ordered an Arnold Palmer and a Strawberry Margarita. The mac cheese and the okra were eatible. The meatloaf smelled bad, most of the French fries were raw, the mashed potatoes had crusty gravy and the fried steak was half the portion. The worst of it all was the Strawberry Margarita, which I took 2 sips of and told the waitress it was horrible. It looked like 4 ounces of radioactive red syrupee liquid with a taste of artificial red 40 and a hint of licor. The waitress took the drink with her and a few minutes later came back and said that her manager said that "it had to remain in the bill", no reason was given and no offer to "make it better" either. We ate what was eatible and left half of the food on our plates, paid $39.00 and left. With the management the rating will remain at 2 stars or go down to 1. read more

The service was shockingly poor. The restaurant was feebly cleaned. The front of house staff lead us to a table where she brushed the food and debris off the table with a semi clean rag. The waitress then served us coffee from 2 mugs she grabbed from who knows where.. they had creamer cups in them, dumped the creamers put on the table and then spilled coffee everywhere when filling them. Ok so far. NY day at 3pm. Out of caffeinated coffee. I asked for decaf. It came cold. Waitress seems a but confused and keeps wiping her nose while speaking to us. She brings our drinks and places them on the table by handling the rims. we can use straws for the water but the coffee? The food came out just fine, biscuits came at the end and they do not have grape jelly which is the only type of jelly my MIL wanted so there is that. Basically a normal Cracker Barrel experience. Spent an hour after being told half the menu of what I wanted wasn't available. Being told the kitchen was behind. My party of four got their food and they brought me a bowl of mashed potatoes and told me they sold out of my entree. Did curbside pickup and was give an estimate wait time 23-28 minutes. Waited that time to still not receive order. That's fine, they could be busy so waited another 10-15 minutes. Still nothing. Decided to go in where we learned that they were just bagging up the order. Okay whatever that's fine. We get our order and we leave but I doubled checked to make sure everything was good. I should have checked the reviews before visiting. We spent the weekend in Vicksburg visiting family and stopped here for dinner. It was close to our hotel. The plates were dirty and the silverware tasted like soap which altered the flavor of the food. Overall, nothing like the locations in Texas where we're from. This cute country store leans too heavily on their marketing. They have a cute country store in front with lots of items from "the good ole days" nostalgic candy and more. A hostess seats you in the dining room. They are known for their southern fried chicken, so that is what I ordered. It arrived pretty quickly I got 2 sides in addition. I was disappointed that everything came separately-mashed potatoes in a very small bowl, Cole slaw also in small dish, the "fresh" biscuits in a basket, and 4 pieces of chicken, which is half a chicken, on it's own plate. The potatoes and biscuits were warm, not hot, the chicken was nice and crispy. The biscuits weren't great. I think McDonalds makes better biscuits! Overall I thought the meal was disappointing, I expected more. I was underwhelmed! They don't have a huge menu so what they make should be great! The pancakes looked good. All the food was coming out of the kitchen pretty fast, so I don't know why it isn't hot? My server was young and maybe new? She wasn't great-didn't check back with me after she brought the food out. It was 4;00 on Saturday and it wasn't busy. The floor is really dirty but with brick for a floor, it is really hard to sweep. A server was sweeping after her customer left, but only got half of the debris! I used the bathroom which was a mess. It needed TP, and the debris box for paper towels had tipped over onto the floor. Fantastic! We had despaired of having a good meal at Cracker Barrel after the pandemic. For the last 4 years, every visit was terrible: cold food, taste-free food, bad service, dirty dining rooms, dirty restrooms,, etc. This particular Cracker Barrel restores our faith in the brand. The service at this Cracker Barrel has declined beyond terrible. On our last visit, I arrived a few minutes after my son. He had already ordered for us both. They finally brought out our food but I never received a drink or a ticket. The waiter never came back because he and others were too busy playing around on the other side of the restaurant. There were only two other diners in the whole place. I finally got up & walked into the gift shop to look around. Finally, a supervisor came out into the shop. I asked if I could get a ticket to pay for our meals. Today, an older couple a table away from us got up to leave because no one had ever come to take their drink order. Julia (the only great employee this restaurant has) went to get them & bring them back to take their order. Our waitress kept forgetting the salad dressing for my salad and silverware and a drink refill. Even though there were two "managers" chilling at a table, the majority of the employees were talking in several groups and not serving diners. We came in at around 3pm on Monday, the slowest hour for any restaurant. The lovely hostess greeted us and got us a table in the first dining room honoring our request of having a table close by. We were shortly after greeted by our server Ketory. She greeted us with zero energy and was not happy to be here. She didn't even loom up from her tablet. I have been a server before and I know that I don't care what's going on at home, I need to learn to leave it at the door. Here's a tip for you Ketory, atleast pretend to lkke your job and I promise you will get more tips. I didn't like being a server either, but I never let me guests know that; it's not their problem! Buscuits and cornbread came out a little cold and stale, almost like we got the leftovers from lunch. A little disappointing, but not as awful as the service we got. We tried to flag her down to ask for fresh buscuits but grabbing her attention was posing to be a challenge. Our food came out in a timely fashion, the chicken. Tenders were juicy and freshly grilled. The okra was freshly fried as well which was a pleasant surprise, the green beans tasted fresh as well. The mash and Mac and cheese however were warm at best, almost like they have been sitting in the steam well for too long. Potatoes also lacked salt. We asked for fresh corn bread and this was the best part of our meal. We got the delicious fresh out of the oven cornbread and olala was it good. (Too bad the butter was too hard to spread on it.) Wish I had checked the reviews. This is, without a doubt, the worst Cracker Barrel I've ever visited. The food was decent, which is the only reason it gets a star at all. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before anyone came over. The toddler taking my order served me sweet red wine in a can (no glass) after I ordered Moscato and clarified it with him. Service at this location has deteriorated over the past few years, and so has the food. My server was not attentive to taking my order correctly nor in refilling my drink during the meal. She seemed more interested in chatting with the person who appeared to be the manager than in serving her guests. Although prices have increased, servings have become much smaller than in the past. I ordered lemon pepper fish, pinto beans, which in the past have been a favorite of mine, and there were other peas mixed in which appeared to include blackeyed peas and others. UGH. I couldn't even finish them. The fish was good but much smaller than in the past. The mashed were OK but a very small helping. The biscuit and cornbread were OK but very small and I was not served any jam and the server never returned to even refill my tea. Some of this is obviously a local issue, the serving size instructions are most likely coming from corporate, but honestly are unacceptable due to the price increase. All of these problems need to be addressed. This local Cracker Barrel has lost my business and my respect. read more

To start with the restrooms were dirty and we wiped off our table ourselves because it was not clean when we were seated. The waitress was not attentive and when we ask for things that should have come with our food like tarter & dipping sauce, she never came back with it. We had to chase someone down to just get water.
