You are given a lot more food on this food tour than on others we have done, so come hungry! Since I am a lover of most all foods :-) the Delray Craft Food Tour was a wonderful gift! Our group met up with our tour guide Anthony at El Camino in Pineapple Grove. We were given a short introduction and sat down to our first tasting starting with Margaritas, Home Made Chips with Red and Green Salsa and Brisket Quesadillas. What a great way to start the fun. Next stop was a real surprise, an Asian Street Food location off the beaten path called Goodies. We sampled a delicious fruit tea and a new item to me JianBing, an Asian chicken burrito with a crunch which made the taste and texture exceptional. We actually watched the chef create this on a crepe maker! (see video) This is a great affordable lunch stop in Delray! Next stop, Beer Trade company very conveniently located next door to Goodies. Everyone was offered a beer of their choice from a HUGE selection in the cold case and on tap. It all started in Maryland so Old Bay was a great addition to their Honey Old Bay wings recipe marinated in what else BEER. They were crispy and sweet with quite a kick! We also sampled the risotto balls - yummy! We walked a few blocks to stop #4 Death by Pizza! The owner Koby greeted us and gave us some background of this Detroit style pizza company which has become a very popular location two blocks off Atlantic. What a treat! This business is take-out only so we stood outside and sampled a square thick crispy crust slice topped with amazing cheese and tomato sauce known as The Enemy! I can see why..i gained a pound in the sampling but boy was it worth it!! Sadly one last stop, (i was FULL but having way too much fun) @ Dekes Coffee. Nico, a young visionary, gave us a full explanation of the coffee making process as we sampled an affogato, espresso shot over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. If you like strong unsweetened coffee, this is your coffee shop. From coffee plant to green coffee beans to the roasting process, we saw it all. Unfortunately, I don't remember where the coffee beans originated in our espresso affogato, however Nico spoke of Ethiopian coffee as one they serve often. I would highly recommend this tour as a chance to sample some great independent restaurants in Delray. Our group seemed to be most impressed with the gems we found off the beaten path. Their tours and gift cards can be purchased online. #craftfoodtoursdelraybeach

There were many vendors, as much food as you can eat, as much wine as you can drink! A great time socializing at the tables. We will not miss this yearly event. The name "Boca Raton Wine and Food Festival" sure sounds good...like they would get some higher end restaurants there. I mean it's not the F'ing Catalina Wine Mixer, but... Not all were a disappointment, but most were. Now it did rain for about 10 minutes, but that's Florida and all part of the adventure. But this BRWFF was slated for 7 pm to 10 pm. The tickets were not cheap, but there were still vendors that simply left by 8:30 pm...I guess due to the 10 minute rain shower. There is a contest where we the customers vote on the best food/wine booth. Well the best in my opinion was the Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club (French Onion Soup dumplings) which is 1. A private Club that us commoners don't have access to AND 2. It's not even in Boca. Then to top it off, the winner was Santos Buffet....a buffet won people! I mean ZERO disrespect to Santo's, but Is that the BEST place the organizers could get for the BRWFF? I know that part falls partially on the voters, but still....the selection of restaurants and other vendors is pathetic for what you pay. I'll try again when/if Boca learns from other affluent cities exactly how to put on a real wine/food festival.

Our guide took us to a combination of places we'd been and places that were new to us. It was nice getting the background on the chef's at all the restaurants. In fact, we liked the new to us restaurants so much, we returned a few days later for dinner at one. The minbus was very comfortable and the other participants were all friendly and nice. The only little disappointment was our last stop. Havana offered a great selection of their classic dishes, but they were cold when we arrived. If they change the restaurants, we would do this tour again.

They offer interesting tours, they live in and know the area, have amazing relationships with top restaurants, chefs and food markets... and everything is done in a first class manner. We took the "Historic West Palm Beach Neighborhood Food Tour" which was fantastic and highly recommended. It was a great way to learn about the historic area just south of West Palm Beach and be introduced to some great restaurants. We met at Casa Grandview Inn, a historic inn that is beautifully designed and was able to see much of this very private place. For me this alone was worth going on the tour, so I was already ahead of the game! Just look at some of the amazing photos of the Inn I'm posting. After learning about the Inn, we boarded a luxury Mercedes mini-bus and headed out to visit and taste some special food spots in the nearby neighborhood. Perfect for visitors to the Palm Beach area as well as locals, who I guarantee will learn so much, and have a lot of fun as well. You can check out the current itinerary on their web site... all great places, hand-picked by the owner of the company, Kristl Story, who knows everything that is going on in West Palm Beach. Based on the professionalism and expertise as displayed on our tour, I can confidently recommend ANY of this tours and plan to go on a few more. As someone who lives in the area, I'm especially interested in next taking the "Mornings in the Market" tour next. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

She brought ponchos so we could continue on as it rained. It was beautiful to learn about and see this neighborhood through the eyes of someone who grew up here. Toni knows so much history and seemed to know so many of the people, too! The tour has so much food - I was honestly more than full at the end and I didn't even finish all of my portions. I think it was a really good range of drinks, desserts, and food. Even though that coffee cup looks small, that's a full serving size and it was strong! I really really appreciate that this tour not only accommodated for vegetarians but also chose options for me that were realllllly good. Instead of the cubano, I had these fried plantain cups stuffed with veggies. They were SO good and seasoned well! And the spinach and cheese empanada was also amazing. My friend who got the meat options also loved her food. This tour is the perfect way to learn more about Cuban history, the history of the neighborhood, see all the street art, watch a game at domino park, and experience some of the best food in Miami. I think this a great tour for visitors who want to learn about a culture that shapes Miami as well as locals who want to learn about a neighborhood they may not know the ins and outs of. One observation we made was how many people he knew as we walked around Miami Beach and this was seen in how personable and genuine he was on our tour. We started at David's Cafe and got an awesome Cuban sandwich and coffee. Then we traveled the Trolley to a neat Argentinian place for empanadas: Next stop was a Algerian place for hummus and baba ganoush. My favorite place was our Brazilian stop on Espenola Way where we got these yucca balls stuffed with chicken and cream cheese..... SO GOOD! Finally we made it to Miami N-ice, for rolled passion fruit and mango ice cream- TO DIE FOR! All in all we had a blast, just the two of us with Farouk! We explored several buildings for their historic architecture, took pictures at The Carlisle where the Robin Williams movie, The Birdcage, was filmed. He knew all about the Mediterranean vs. Art Deco style. This tour allowed you to not only get a great meal, but a great experience with a very knowledgeable and energetic guide. The balance between eating, architecture, and good conversation made this a great night in Miami Beach! Danny knew so many people on the street who stopped to speak to him. We ate cuban sandwich (amazing!) , guava pastries, empanadas, and churros- it was basically two meals!. Danny also told lots of stories and we learned about the hobby of dominos with a Cuban twist, and the history of the Bay of Pigs. This was not a serious history tour, but it was super fun and I highly recommend it. He pointed out a jazz club on the tour, Ball & Chain- we stopped there for a cuban mojito after the tour and listened to the band. It was a wonderful afternoon.
