One of our favorite pizza spots in Chicago (which says a lot given the number of places and amount we eat). This place has great quality ingredients with simple but tasty crust and sauce. I think Craft is the best pizza in the neighborhood (WAAAAY better than Piece and probably better than Parlor). However, the staff could be a little more professional. Everyone always seems a little spaced out, a little casual, a little like you are imposing on their hang out time and not like they are there to provide you pizza in return for payment. Like when we asked for olives on the side of the salad, and they put red onions on the side. Or when we asked for red pepper flakes and were told they were inside the pizza box, peeked inside to check, and found no pepper flakes. "My bad, dude." Yeah, okay. read more

We went to Craft Pizza a couple of weeks ago, after they had been open for a few weeks. They seem to be having some teething problems, but the pizza itself is really really good. We ordered a large pizza to eat in. We noticed as we were sitting there that the pizza maker was having real difficulty getting one of the pizzas out of the oven, and in fact the whole pizza disintegrated and fell apart when they tried to lift it out (I think this was our pizza). After about 30mins of waiting the owner came over to apologise and said that the chef had put the wrong toppings on our pizza, so they were making another one for us. After about another 15minutes the owner came over with a small pizza, and said that the dough 'wasn't working for them' at the moment, and that large pizzas were falling apart, so that we would get the pizza for free, and they would void our payment for the large pizza. We ate the small...which was LOVELY! So...in short, the customer service is great, the pizza is great, and i'm sure once the chefs get acquainted with the pizza oven, you'll get exactly what you order! We will be back!!! read more

This is absolutely one of the best pizza places I've been too. The unique atmosphere is great! If you go there when the pizza cook is singing it's even better! At one point I thought there was a live performance, but no, it was the cook happily singing away and hitting some pretty good notes. Which is to say that this pizza gets made by a happy chef and happy-made pizza taste so damn good! If you're feeling adventurous try the truffle pizza (YUMMY!!) or the bacon and cheese! I'm drooling as I type this. They were so good! Oh, and one last thing, as if this place didn't have enough awesome character, there's an awesome old style red pizza truck right upfront, a great touch. read more

This place is unbelievable. I wasn't sure there was a pizza that could fill the hole in my heart that Homemade Pizza Company left behind, but this place did it, and then some. It's a cool place to hang out AND BYOB. Plus, they are expanding to an outside patio area that isn't right on a main street. We ordered the bacon pizza, can't remember it's official name, but it was knock-your-socks-off delicious. I could talk about the crust for days. A $30 pizza should TASTE like a $30 pizza. I shared a large with 2 other people, and though it was mostly tasty, each slice tasted a little different like it had not been made very uniformly. The sauce is good but a bit too salty. All in all I really wasn't impressed, maybe it would have been ok if the price was cut in half. read more

They do a great job with the crust!! I agree that they really mastered getting a crispy bottom with a soft, chewy center. I would highly recommend the amore pizza (margherita + pepperoni). All of the ingredients are fresh and blend together well. The staff is also very friendly. I look forward to going back soon to relax in their outdoor patio seating area with a bottle of wine (BYOB) and a delicious pie! read more

John, the manager, was easy to work with, Scott the owner was on site and clearly cares about his food, employees and customers. They even made the kids feel welcome. Everyone loved the pizza. This might be my new favorite pizza. 100% agree with the reviewer who noted that this is what you remember Piece was like before it wasn't. The crust is simply amazing (chewy, thin-ish in that wood fired oven kind of way), the toppings were appropriate (not too many, not too few), tomato sauce was crushed tomatoes. It is small and BYOB so you may have to wait for a seat but I think it is worth it. Or carryout. if that's an issue. read more

Definitely my favorite neighborhood pizza, and that's saying something with Piece being the general Wicker Park favorite. But Craft is lesser known gem, and has a family owner/ small business feel. This pizza is more New York than Chicago but on a Friday night the carb consumption is WORTH IT! Their salads are amazing too and really affordable. read more

Loved this pizza place. Great crust, thin but not floppy thin, excellent wood fired taste. Sauce was sweet and not over done, cheese also was light, just like we like it! They have fresh and local veggie options, this is awesome! We did pick-up after reading a review that said there was no seating. However, when we arrived to pick-up (on a Friday night) there would have been plenty of seating. Like the BYOB idea! read more

I kept hearing that the pizza was really good here, but had never gone yet. I think I never went because everything else that has been in that space was horrible, like the Haute and the dog, so I guess I figured it would be bad too! I was wrong! It is awesome, if you didn't actually see the pizza ovens you would think it was cooked in a brick, fire oven. Not really sure how that is? The manager, John was so super nice and really into his job. He cares about the place as if he owned it and I told him that I hope the owners know how lucky they are to have him, because he rocks!!! I just went there again tonight for the third time and he even remembered my name! Any business would be lucky to have him. I was picking up a pizza to take home for me and my husband, my husband loved it so much we got it again just a few days later! We heated up the leftovers the next day and it was still really good, which isn't always the case. I think we found our new go to pizza joint! Great pizza, great service, love it! removing a star because they only serve jones fountain sodas, which just aren't good. i don't get who enjoys them. they're so sweet they actually hurt my teeth and the flavors are completely unappealing. i know it's crappy of me not to support a smaller business like jones, but sometimes you just want a good old coca cola product with your (AMAZING) pizza. on the plus side, they deliver now. read more

Everything at this place is made from scratch and they use the best ingredients available. Everything is meticulously cooks to perfection and you can definitely taste the extra care taken with each pie. I will definitely sample more of there pizza. read more

This place is a joke at best. When the waiter, who barely spoke broken English, brought us our food I honestly thought it was DiGiorno. Then I tasted it and realized that it wasn't even good enough to be classified as DiGiorno. Not sure what they have going on there, but the pizza looks and tastes as if it was made last week and has been marinating under the warmers in the kitchen. read more

We are right down the street from this place and have had their pizza several times. It is tasty and fresh, and I've found the employees to be friendly and helpful. I really enjoy their dough. I agree that the sauce is pretty simple, but sometimes you just want a simple pizza that tastes fresh. And for that I think this place hits the spot. read more

Craft Pizza is a small hole in the wall BYOB on the corner of a nice neighborhood. The pizza is insanely good, all fresh ingredients and the owners are really cool. The only reason I didn't make this a 5 star is because they are just by the smallest of margins not as good as Piece, but if I eat the Devil in the White City one more time who knows! read more

Easily one of the best pizzas I've found in Chicago. I came in on a Sunday night and was surprised at how busy it was, the girl at the front counter told me to order with her and have a seat after explaining what sizes of pizza they have, I ordered a large bacon pizza and salad. My salad was brought out to me almost immediately, the olives and cranberries were a strange but delightful combination and the dressing they use was fantastic. Then about ten minutes later the pizza arrived. They advertise an eighteen inch large pizza but this thing looked HUGE. the crust was fantastic, had a good crunch to it with a chewy inside, not soggy. The bacon was thick and generously added. The two of is finished the whole thing so fast we almost couldn't believe it. I will definitely be coming back with some beer next time as I was unaware they are byob. Great job craft pizza, I hope you guys last in this spot. read more
