For years I've clowned my brother about his reliance on Sweetgreen. Having worked in NYC and Jersey City for years I am intimately acquainted with salad spots that cost the equivalent of college tuition and still leave you wanting. However, as I was a guest in his home and his wallet I was down to give it a try over the holidays when he suggested it. Based on my experience, I'm a believer - to a point. I started with the steak hot honey base and from there went HAM. Just my salad came in around $24. That's atrocious. However it was also delicious and packed to the brim with flavor and texture. I was pleasantly surprised. I think if I ordered as is I would have been disappointed - but being able to DIY was clutch. All that said, I FIRMLY reject the designation of places like Sweetgreen, Chipotle, and Cava as "slop bowls." In a time of rising economic and food insecurity, I actually find it incredibly disrespectful. Related but undeveloped thought - I also have issues with how items that contain "soft" ingredients like rice and beans - staples in countries with large populations of non white folks - get ridiculed as "slop." Is it the price that offends us? The preparation? Or the thought that who is eating it - (white) white collar workers - "deserve better?" The restaurant is fairly new so it's well kept and clean. This was my first time trying Sweetgreen. I ordered the harvest bowl. It was really good and surprisingly filling. Will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu. The service was OK. Seemed like they were short staffed. Or fully staffed with three people. read more

Ordered the crispy rice bowl and subbed the chicken for miso glazed salmon and added pickled onions, so delish! I subbed the chicken as it was Friday during lent and couldn't have meat. The veggies were fresh, the spicy cashew dressing was bombbbb! Perfect spice to that dressing! I thought the salmon was a bit small, but it had good flavor, a little dry but fine by me. Came here opening day to check out the new location. They blessed locals with a free salad this afternoon. I got the Cobb salad. Cobb salad was very good. I ended up adding chicken stripsnas it wasnt filling. All ingredients were fresh. Order was promptly made and held up until we had time for lunch. All in all, will be back. Gave 4 stars for price point for salad. For portion size, just believe $10 is a better price than $13 to $15 bucks. read more

This location has changed drastically. Customer service and freshness of the food has gotten so much better, my husband and I used to be regulars but stopped going because it was too expensive and the service and food didn't match up to what we were paying. I decided to go out on a limb & stop in the other night and I'm glad I did! The team was so nice, was greeted as soon as I walked through the door, the team member making my salad was very attentive and very knowledgeable of the questions I was asking. Whoo! There still hot and this is the first one for the year. This is the twentieth location here and the eighteenth location in Illinois. I Had the BBQ Chicken & Squash Plate which is 'til 3/29. Lo and behold, my diabetic mother wanted a salad. The appeal of Sweetgreen was that she could customize her own salad. I had arugula and kale and mom had spinach and kale for the base. Enjoyed the graden cobb salad. The balsamic vingerette dressing complimented the salad really well it had a sweet and sour vibe. All of the vegetables were fresh and some of the lettuce had a nice crunch for some additional texture. The staff was friendly and I like that the mix the salad at the end (it's the little things) I thought it was awesome that even though i ordered a salad with almonds they asked before putting the almonds in the bowl, super helpful for people with allergies. Every single time I order from this location something is wrong or missing whether I do pick up or delivery. Customer service is the worst. Missing 1 of the 2 meals you ordered guess what they will get back to with you within 24 hours so rest assured one of you will not be eating that night. I just really want to acknowledge the incredible service I had on Friday June 9th around 6 PM. I came in to pick up dinner for my husband and I and the line was extremely long-- it was obvious they'd been busy for a while. But the entire group of employees was hustling and working so quickly and so hard in such a great team spirit way I was shocked by how fast I got through the line. Literally the woman serving me was making 4 salads at once and with such a great attitude. A man in the back was hustling to keep up with the fresh veggies and popped on the line to sprinkle fresh cilantro on everyone's dishes that needed it. I really mean it this group working was outstanding and I hope SweetGreens acknowledges that because they totally had a good vibe and did a great job. read more

This was the last straw. I'm writing a review every time Sweetgreen messes up my delivery order now. I order Sweetgreen while working as a painter doing murals. Often I don't have silverware at these sites so I request- and write "I have no silverware please please please bring utensils". So far Sweetgreen is 0-8 in the last month.... Today I ordered two dressings-I got 0 and 0 silverware. I am seeing adds for them and their app and I seriously have never had a good experience from ordering delivery. Love the food but they suck wether it's this location-the Randolph-or River North...they just suck at delivery. Items always missing or the No utensils thing. It's insane and angering. Great food-BUT if you need silverware and ordering delivery THEY WILL NOT INCLUDE IT! And you may be missing dressing. My friend ordered Sweetgreen last week and had no dressing as well. Be cautious or at least able to have silverware or dressing on hand. Or extra kale since they skimp on it every now and then. read more

I have been a sweet green fan for years and was so excited when one opened in this neighborhood. Then I ordered a salad today and the bowl was a third of the normal size. I feel obligated to write this review after my experience at this location. I'll split up the experience between pros and cons: Pros: 1. the salad was tasty. 2. The staff were friendly once they decided to finally take our order. Cons: 1. as soon as we walked into the restaurant, there was a large pool of water on the ground with two yellow caution signs. I initially thought that this was a recent spill, and that someone would clean this up soon. I KID YOU NOT when I say that we ordered our food and ate it there (spent a total of 30 minutes in the restaurant) and NOBODY cleaned up the spill. This was right in the entrance and everyone who walked in almost slipped (huge safety problem). One employee who was on break even walked right through the puddle and proceeded to walk around leaving wet footprints everywhere (wtf). Not one of their 6 employees felt it necessary to clean up the spill. 2. We stood in line for several minutes before someone came up to the front to take our order. Mind you, there were about 6 employees "working" in the back and nobody acknowledged us. 3. Restrooms were both filthy and one toilet wasn't even working (had old urine and toilet paper inside and would not flush) - no signs saying it was out of order. But given the lack of concern for the puddle in the entrance, why would their employees care about the restrooms, right? 4. Everyone else who entered the store received the same "service" of having to wait several minutes to be acknowledged by an employee. One delivery driver asked for some water as he waited for his order and an employee responded with "we don't have any cups" in a rude tone. Bottom line - it's clear everyone here hates working here. For a $15 salad, I'd expect a bit more. read more

I received a response of my review from Sweetgreen. They are investigating the matter and gave me a full refund. I did go the Wicker Park location and very nice place. I tried the same salad, Crispy Rice Bowl and all was good. Still a fan, just not of this location. Plus I still have the issue with the portion being smaller if you get delivery then when you walk-in to buy. There customer service has been great, appreciating the response. read more
