Pork souvlaki bowl (to go)
Claire C.

Decided to pop in for a quick to-go dinner after a work out class and was not disappointed! Was able to order quickly at the counter and wait comfortably at a table for my food. The restaurant itself is cute, not super big but there's a lot of seating. The servers are always friendly and there's always a ton of people working LOL. It was pretty busy for a Friday evening, and I only had to wait for 10 minutes or so for my order to be ready. I got the pork souvlaki skewers as a bowl. I really liked it, I thought the pork was perfectly charred and the toppings were all fresh and went really well with it. The rice was also fluffy and seasoned well, which is usually my biggest critique of bowl meals. Overall, solid option if you want something fast to go or to enjoy in the store.

Great Greek food!! Have ordered takeout and ate in - both meals were fresh and delicious. Perfect portions and the fries are perfect shareable size.

I really liked how you ordered food at the counter and they bring it out to you. Got the mushroom bowl with chicken and it was relay good, this could have definitely been shared with another person. The ambiance inside was good and it has a water station you can grab your own water. The ice cream was really good with pistachios and some berries.

Really amazing takeout from Kala. Flavors were all on point, they have such a great menu it's hard to choose! Pork bowl: 4/5 (wish I got double protein, rice to meat ratio was off. Was very hard to get meat off skewer with plastic silverware) Feta me meli: 5/5 (the honey paired with it is to die for!) Loukoumades: 4.5/5 Frozen greek yogurt: 5/5 (must try) Very cute spot to dine, decorated well. Takeout order was ready on time!!!

I've been to Chicago twice in the last month, and sure enough, both times I have found myself grabbing lunch at Kala. I am telling everyone and their mother about it - fast casual, kind staff, bright space, best bowls. My first experience was after miles of walking and I needed something filling but note necessarily heavy. I posted up at a bar seat that overlook the sidewalk and with windows open, enjoyed their Pork Bowl with 1/2 rice 1/2 salad. This heaping masterpiece comes with two flavorful pork skewers atop a bed of yellow rice, fresh dressed greens and a bright, chilled and flavorful garlic-cucumber yogurt dressing. The additions of feta cheese, red onions, tomatoes and well seared fries that hold their crisp amongst this bowl's robust ingredients really had me hooked. My second trip, I brought a friend. I was concerned I over-hyped it (as I do) but she agreed with me - this place has a good bowl. This time I was feeling more veggie forward and ordered their Kolokythokeftedes - zucchini fritters - bowl again with 1/2 and 1/2. Three thick fritters come hot and fried yet moist inside and packed with flavor. The base is the same and toppings of red onion and feta are similar, but the sauce shines - a white garlic sauce blends the bowl together - I really could not stop taking bites. It sounds like the husband and wife duo just have the one location so far, but I begged one of the staff to ask them to consider MN - I would be their first customer.

First time here and definitely not the last. Everything tasted so fresh and had so much flavor! Love the take on each of the dishes and the Kala fries had an amazing garlic sauce. My friend got the geek salad with a chicken kebab and I got the pork salad which was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and had great seasoning. The workers were all so sweet and helpful too.

Fast, friendly, and fabulous The service was super quick and everyone was so nice. We didn't wait long at all and the food came out hot and fresh I got the shrimp bowl with chicken and it was packed with flavor. The shrimp was tender, the chicken was juicy, and the whole thing just hit the spot So fresh and so satisfying. My mom got the steak bowl with grilled veggies and she couldn't stop raving about it. The steak was perfectly cooked and the veggies were grilled to perfection. The vibe is bright, modern, and casual but still feels special Perfect for a quick bite. Can't wait to go back and try more This place is officially in the rotation.

Stopped by for dinner after a workout in the area and we were SO happy we did. Food was phenomenal, loads of flavor, great portion sizes for the price, and gorgeous interior and vibe with lots of sunlight. We got the Zucchini Fritters and Greek Fries. Don't skip the Zucchini Fritters, they were beyond amazing. I got the Mushroom Bowl and even though there was no meat, it was surprisingly filling (especially after the workout) and super flavorful. I think about this meal a lot and would come back if I'm in Lincoln Park. Staff were super friendly and service was quick. Overall, great place to stop by for a quick, cheap, and semi-casual meal.

This place was such an unexpected surprise in terms of quality and deliciousness. I stopped in after an evening yoga class for a quick bite to eat. I stopped in a little after 7 on a Wednesday and it was pretty full but was still able to snag a seat. You can order at the counter or with the QR code at the table. The price point for the quality of food you get is reasonable enough. I got the Greek fries and a gyro sandwich. Both were so delicious. I wish I had room for dessert as I've been told it's really good. Looking forward to going back and trying more things on the menu.

The food is fresh, delicious and healthy. The service is excellent for take out and dining in. No reservations taken so keep in mind it may be busier on weekends or spring break in the vibrant Lincoln Park neighborhood. I recommend you visit and have some great Greek food. Your body will love you back.

We started with two frappe because there is no other way, and decided to order a bunch of the appetizers for a little bit of a lunch mezze. Delicious! We got the: -trio of dips. The taramasalata was my favorite. -a horiatiki salad, basically a greek salad with no lettuce. -octopus and the kolokithia (zucchini chips) A perfect lunch. We left full but not weighed down like so many of our other meals that week, and had left overs to nosh on that night. Walking to the location, my friend and I discussed the various dishes we would like to try. In hindsight, I'm grateful for the walk because it helped make room for the dishes we would try. We ended up ordering: squid ink chitarra, agnolotti, salt- roasted beets, pork belly, and gelato. Each dish was better than the next. The brown butter and red wine jus used for the agnolotti was addictive and the squid ink was delectable. Who knew salt- roasted beets could taste out of this world? Not me. We ended with a glass of limoncello and champagne to accompany our vanilla gelato. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We got the wild lavraki, which was explained to us as the cousin of branzino. It was deboned for us at our table and he sprinkled flaky salt, squeezed lemon, and added some delicious flavored oils on top. Prob the freshest fish I've had in the city. It's pretty cool that although the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol, staff from the adjacent bar came around every so often and took orders. For appetizers, we started with the feta and olive appetizers. They were good, but I'd probably order something a little more unique next time. I opted for the chicken kalamata dinner for the main event, which came with more french bread and a salad. The salad came out first, and it was pretty simple with minimal dressing. I wished there had been more variety in produce and something besides iceberg lettuce for greens. I'd recommend getting some feta on the side to add some flavor. The chicken, however, was absolutely outstanding. It was super tender, seasoned beautifully with za'atar, and brined in vinegar (I think). The za'atar seasoned french fries underneath were extra crispy and perfectly soaked up the extra sauce from the chicken.
