    Pizza slice special

Fabulous service at the bar. The pizza by the slice special (Italian beef) was excellent. My partner came for the wings and was not disappointed. Great neighborhood spot for pizza and wings.

Dante's is a dive bar. It's not your ordinary hole. This one also serves pizza, and it's vegan friendly too. Also wouldn't you know it, it's next to High Dive. Two dive bars in one. A typical dive bar this is not, for this is vegan friendly. It's actually not quite cheap enough to really be a dive bar, but it has fairly good prices for being around here. There's often specials. It's $6 for pints of some crafts. There's also cheap ass shit like Old Style and more. As for the pizza, it's a good deal. It's $6 for the daily vegan slice. This kind of pizza can be whatever. Also the slices are big. These are about twice the size of a normal slice. Also you can get whole pizzas, vegan or with regular meat and cheese. The whole pizzas are quite expensive at $20 or more, so that's why to get slices and save a lot. Good dive bar. It has one of the coolest bar menus. This is one of the few where you can get vegan food that's not just chips or pretzels.

Great vegan pizza. Great service. Friendly bar. Worth the trek from Rogers Park. We will be back.

They're known for their French onion soup and chili, so we had to try the chili. It was tasty and I really liked that they use chunks of meat instead of ground meat. It also wasn't overly salty like a lot of chili can be and had a good flavor to it. We also ordered the half pound Angus burger, which was a really good classic burger. Nothing overly fancy or a ton of extras--we just got it with lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese, and enjoyed it. Good if you're ever craving a simple, classic burger. We also tried the pizza, and although it wasn't really to my taste, I could definitely see it being good for cheese lovers. For pizza, I'm someone who likes a higher ratio of sauce to cheese, and this was way too cheese heavy for me. The crust was okay and the toppings were plentiful. They also have a great outdoor patio that would be perfect for bigger parties, and a projector outside for the games too. The bartenders and bouncer were all really nice and gave us awesome recommendations as well. Overall, great neighborhood bar with good bar food, nice people, and a fun place to catch a game.

Clean bathrooms Nice staff service I ordered jerk wings all flats for an upcharge. The jerk marinade/sauce was decent not spicy but flavorful. I added a dusting of ghost pepper for heat and it definitely kicked things up a notch. The chicken itself wasn't seasoned and that it what I would have done differently. It was cooked perfectly though. My friend nachos were delicious there was a light refreshing flavor with a pinch of heat because of the jalapenos. Definitely worth eating again. I like the drink options we had classic margaritas and oberon beer. The margaritas were delicious with good flavor and well balanced. The beer nice, cold, and crisp. I would return... But I hope they start seasoning those wings they have so much potential!

The space itself has a great relaxing ambience and the option to sit indoors or outside. In the colder months, there's an enclosed patio. When it's nicer, the outdoor space opens up and there's a fire pit. All of the staff have been kind and attentive. My only very minor complaint is that the bathroom, while nicely decorated, is SO dark. It took a while for my eyes to adjust and may be difficult for those with impaired vision. I'd suggest increasing the light, or adding a few fake candles/small lamps!

The bartender working the service well was surly and clearly upset to be at work that day. The atmosphere was bumping, but the drinks didn't match the vibe. The pretzel with giardiniera was excellent, though. Idk, they're (only?) a year in but this is a will not return for me.

Couldn't help to notice that all hip hop, rap, Latin music are completely blocked off. Politely asked the bartender what was up with that? He seemed very uncomfortable with my question and gave us a very sarcastic response. "Well, I guess that's a racist juke box." We immediately felt the bad energy. We proceed to finish our beers and play a jazz song by a black female singer. Immediately the bartender and some older biker looking dudes next to us start talking smack about the song. They asked if we put the song on? We said yes, and tell us to read the room. So I respond in a very sarcastic tone. "oh, you want us to read the room, would you like us to play some Toby Keith or Kid rock for you?" They smirked and had no response. I strongly believe the place is owned and operated by white supremacist maga brothren's. I would strongly encourage people In the neighborhood to stop supporting this business.

It's not a upscale as it once felt, and the poor service did not help that impression. My BF was lamenting Roots in Lincoln Square closing, but mentioned the one in West Town and Homestead. Neither of us had been since before the pandemic, so we made a reservation for the next week. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated promptly. The roof is cute-- what you'd expect of a rooftop. It took 5-10 minutes for our server to make it over. We ordered drinks and asked for 2 more minutes for the food. That was a mistake. It took him at least 10 minutes to come back. We still had not received our drinks, but he said the bar was backed up. I strongly suspect he forgot to enter them, but maybe not because it took 35 minutes! During most of that time, he seemed to avoid our table so he wouldn't have to field any questions. We ordered the broccolini, which was cooked perfectly. BF thought it needed a little salt, but I liked it. He got the mussels as an entrée and thought they were good, but nothing to write home about. I got the potato tacos, which were excellent. Overall, it was fine. Not quite the nice date night we expected, especially with the service being what it was. 35 minutes for a cocktail is pretty outrageous. They comped them, which I appreciated, but I don't know that I'll be back any time soon.
