I've visited this place several times, and the food is consistently great. However, the service has been hit or miss. A friend and I were in the mood for pizza, and didn't want to drive far. I've DoorDashed from Craftsman a few times before and enjoyed it. I've never actually dined at the restaurant, so we decided to go and give it a try. They are located in the Placentia Town Center right next to CVS, with plenty of parking available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a good sized dining area with a mix of tables and booths. They also have a bar area with four big screens against the wall, and a few other TVs throughout the dining area. They also have a small outdoor patio in front of the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in a comfy booth across from the bar, and it was a nice surprise that they had a college hockey championship game and the Olympics on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a good selection of beer taps. I ordered a pint of the Firestone Orange Hefeweizen ($9.50), and my friend had the Stereo Robot Red Ale ($9.50) and were both great. The glasses looked nice with the Craftsman logo on them. They also have a good wine list with some great selections like Belle Glos and Doau. The drink menu also has a nice selection of over a dozen cocktails. They have a big selection of around two dozen signature wood fired pizzas available in 10" or 14" sizes. We decided to keep it simple and share a 14" The Graduate (pepperoni, sausage, ham, red onions, roasted peppers, olives, and mozzarella ($22.75). The pizza came out timely, and is served on a raised stand. The crust had a nice thin to medium thickness and held the toppings well. It had a good amount of toppings and was delicious. This was the perfect size for two people, and we were both stuffed when it was all gone. In addition to a big list of interesting pizzas, they also have a big selection of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Our server Mikayla was very friendly, and checked on us often. The pizza, beer, and service were all great. A very filling pizza and two pints for $45 before tip is a great deal. They have a happy hour weekdays, and drink specials Monday through Thursday. Another special Placentia place, with this one being the last place we had a family meal before my dad passed away. Deliciousness and comfort food, yes pizzas, but also lots of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and salad. Small but good selection of beers, great bar seating and both indoor and outdoor seating options. I only just learned that I can turn any salad into a wrap, which makes me happy. I'm a Placentia local and this was my first time giving Craftsman a try. I am bumping my 4 stars to a solid 5. Over the years, this has become one of our favorite spots. We eat here about once a month. I love the Valedictorian pizza and the BBQ chicken. So I came back tonight after a long absence. I ordered a Margherita pizza and a garden side salad. The salad came out after a LONG delay. The waitress said the kitchen was backed up. The pizza came out only a minute later. It was luke warm at best. It was cold after my first piece. I almost sent it back, but I didn't want to make a scene with my friends there. My husband and I thought pizza sounded good last night and we wanted something different so we thought we'd try craftsman. The pizza was good. But sadly the service was awful. There was a young boy who seemed to be running around doing everything. He was great and I felt bad for him. Went there for Mother's Day under a reservation in which we were able to sit down right away. We had noticed because we go there a lot that there were actually quite a bit of people, but only three servers and two cooks in the back. Our meals were coming out at different times and were not able to all eat at the same time which was not the waitresses fault at all. Thoroughly disappointed! I was craving wood fired pizza and came across this place with 1K reviews! We ordered a Cesar's salad and a Margherita pizza. The salad came out quickly and we ate that while waiting for the pizza. Salad wasn't bad, I mean you can't really go wrong with lettuce, croutons, cheese, and dressing, or can you? The pizza on the other hand was pretty bad. First off it was cold. I mean making fresh out of the oven pizza should be piping hot and it wasn't. The sauce said marinara but tasted like out of the jar marinara sauce. The crust which for a wood fired pizza should be crispy and have some char was soft and chewy. The mozzarella cheese wasn't melted thoroughly as it should be. The two stars are for the service our waitress provided. She was friendly, welcoming and efficient. The place itself is not bad. Has a long bar on one side with multiple TV's. The menu is pretty extensive with a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, and pizzas. It took FOREVER for anyone to acknowledge we were there (even considering it was busy..) many servers, bussers, host, manager walked by without saying a word or even making eye contact. BUT, once we did get service, our guy was super nice and friendly and it made up for the initial seating grudge. Craftsman Woodfired Pizza is located in the Placentia Town Center between CVS and Marshall's. It's easily accessible and parking is plentiful. The inside is immediately inviting. The dim lighting and darker tables just give the whole place a cozy feel. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in and our server was fantastic the whole time; she took the time to answer all of our questions and checked on us regularly. Today we ordered the steak and potato pizza and the slow cooked tri tip sandwich. Both were excellent! The pizza was actually what prompted me to wanna come here and it did not disappoint! The steak and potato pizza was good, the problem was my experience I was a solo diner and I was seated quickly at a 2 top behind the bar chairs, great start. The person who sat me brings me a water and then nothing for ~10 minutes nobody checks to see if I'm ready to order I'm not even sure if I ever had a legit server my entire time there. The tables around me were being taken care of it really made me feel forgotten, eventually a woman comes to me and asks if I want food, I think she was the bartender ? I tell her the pizza and she leaves. Not ideal but it's all good. My food comes out on time and was great, but during the entire time I ate the woman who took my order only came by once to ask how it was and left, I wanted to get a mocktail or something but I couldn't even get a refill of my water. I finish the pizza and another ~10 minutes goes by with nothing no one checking on me everyone just walking by me. I was planning on ordering the lemon blueberry cake and asking for a refill and the check but instead a different guy walks by, drops the check off and leaves. I was genuinely shocked. Instead of getting the cake I went up to the front paid my bill and left This place isn't cheap, so if you're willing to spend your money you are better off going somewhere that will treat you like they care, or at the very least pretend they do. read more

The two is because our server was good. We had a party of 10 and she was really on top of everything. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, which was inedible. The pastrami itself was thick, chewy, slathered in sauce, and just not good. I could not take a bite of the sandwich without the sandwich falling apart because I could not bite into the meat. I ended up having to cut the meat up into tiny pieces in order to eat it. Because it was lunch time and they were busy, I left half of it there and decided to call the manager later. On a Friday night when I called there was no management on site, so I left a message stating I would like to discuss the good and not so good about my experience. I wanted them to know that our waitress was great. I was not going to leave a negative review until I didn't receive a call back. We had some sandwiches tonight. They were pretty bad. I had the tru tip melt and my dad had the meatball provolone. The brought my sandwich on a small plate on top on my salad. I believe with that size plate, they should've brought them each on their own plate . The bread was all wrong, on both of our sandwiches. My dad had the meatball i thought would be in a french roll type bread, but our sandwiches were both in the same small ellipse shaped bread split in half. This halving was a problem as the sandwiches both were falling from their bread. My dad says his meatball tasted like a philly cheesesteak as there were peppers in the mix. This review is specifically for their wine + food pairing event they recently had--it was their first time hosting this event, and I hope they have more in the future! We had the absolute best time (like, far more fun than one usually has when going out to eat). The food was exceptionally delicious, and the Daou wine pairings were absolutely on point, with each dish perfectly complimenting the wines. We received full size pours, and were pleasantly surprised at the size of each course--we ended up taking leftovers home (although we somehow managed to power through the dessert course). Part of what made the experience so magical was the service--Sara & Bryan are absolutely in the right business: competent, kind, and on top of everything. Their team was equally excellent, which started at the front of house and extended all the way to back of house. The mood was lively, and we made friends with a neighboring table. We loved every dish, and agreed that the pizza was something special, with the perfect amount of chew, and capable of holding up to the generous pile of toppings; so good that it was worth eating down to the pizza-bones (aka the crust). At the end of the meal, we were allowed to take home a Craftsman pint glass filled with fresh flowers, which was such a nice touch to an already awesome evening. Craftsman is a great place for dinner or brunch on the weekend. We used to go to the one in Anaheim but since that location closed, we are totally willing to drive over to this Placentia location. The vibe is always great, lively but not loud. The last time we went with friends, they had a live band which was really cool.  The service has always been good and the food is consistent. You know what you are going to get... and what you are getting is really delicious American food. Our favorites are the Kramer Burger, the Titan Fries, and the Steak and Potato Pizza. For brunch then breakfast pizza is a must-have! All of the pizzas we've tried have been good and they usually have a really good beer selection.  There are a few TVs at the bar and we've never had to wait too long for a table.
