a bar with a sign that says this must be the place

This small restaurant and bar is in Whole Foods Brea. The food menu is very small but the items look healthy. They have happy hour and specials throughout the week. We usually sit at the bar to hang out a bit before our Whole Foods run. The Buffalo wings are one of the best and the sauces are so yummy. I also enjoyed nachos and Beyond burger. The prices are very good and portions are not bad. It's a good place to have some beverages and snack food when we shop at this Whole Foods.

The crew loves coming here on a Friday night and enjoying a few cold ones before heading home. The guys usually invite the wives and we all hang out and drink. The beauty of drinking in a grocery store is that there are plenty of options to choose from. The bar specials are always delicious such as a healthy portion of fish and chips with a beer, $1 oysters that they shuck fresh, pizza right out of the oven or the endless options of Whole Foods. The beers are always cold and the staff is always friendly. Plenty of space for the kids to run around outside when they get the wiggles and it's always a beautiful scene around the fountain. We don't do it too often but when we do, the text simply says WFF for Whole Foods Friday Great conversations to be had and future plans to be made. Catch a game and a cold one here for sure.

Love this gem at Whole Foods! Can't beat cheap drinks for happy hour from 4-6. And the girls behind the bar are all wonderful! Shout out to Julia, Erika and Crystal!

My local Whole Foods is not as hip as this place and I was glad I popped in for a drink and stayed for the music. The DJ added to the good vibes and the bartenders were so helpful and friendly. You can watch the games and enjoy good food too. I had a blackberry BreweryX and it was punchy and refreshing for the heat.

Great Pub Style burger grassfed, charbroil, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onions, garlic aioli, bacon jam. I got kid size/pass on fries

I have made a lot of visits to this Whole Foods but today was the first time I ordered from the restaurant inside the store. Order and pay at the bar, seat yourself, and food is brought out to your table. Seating options are in the bar, at the tables near the registers, upstairs, or outside, just let your order taker know where you will be. Other than bringing out your order, there is no real "table service". 5 stars for the "Pub Style" Burger w fries $12 The burger itself was better than expected. Note: I ordered a smaller kid size version $5 because I did not want to eat a huge burger, but next visit I would order the regular size. The reasons I liked the burger: the meat is grassfed and fresly ground every day, it has a great charbroiled flavor and all the toppings work together such as butter lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, garlic aioli, bacon jam, and a locally made bun delivered daily. 2 stars for the fries: I was expecting fresh (one gal told me they were) but they were frozen and salty on the inside even though I ordered them unsalted they were still inedible for me due to the saltiness. Personally, I can't understand why they dont serve fresh but I have noticed this is common with most Whole Foods restaurants I have visited-this should be changed. They were nice enough to let me try a side salad or vegetable instead of the fries which came with my kids burger, I opted for: 4 stars brussel sprouts: which were deliciously crispy and fresh tasting but on the oily side due to them being deep fried...but they were good! I would definitely come back for the full size "Pub Burger add avocado, with some brussel sprouts or a side salad instead of the fries, the burger was THAT good!

Food was great, unfortunately service was not up to par. But what do you expect from a bar inside whole foods where only 1-2 employees are manning the station. So, expect crap service and you won't be disappointed!! Now, if they had staff around that actually gave a crap, then i would rate them 5 stars. And yes, i know, this is a very generous 4 stars, but the food is actually really good! Try the cauliflower nachos, perfectly crisp batter on the cauliflower with amazing sauce. Beyond burger was pretty good too! Vegan patty burger with vegan cheese. Happy hour menu was TBD as they were "updating their menu" at the time...(as of 6.20.2018) I'd definitely be back, but only if I'm in a patient mood.

It was late and wanted a quick bite and decided to try the bar/restaurant inside of the Whole Foods Market in Brea. Ordered fried calamari, Caesar salad, and some beef nachos. The calamari was a little cold but it was surprisingly still crispy. I was caught off guard with the pepperoncinis. Still Ate them. A little on the salty side but offset with the marinara sauce. The nachos were ok. The amount of meat was a tad meager for my liking. The Caesar salad was my favorite dish. The croutons were not good but my favorite part was the poached egg on top of the salad. Different. The guy working the register was nice but to get billed he has to walk to a grocery register. Sucks that he has to walk more. It was a light day so not much people around. It's a lively atmosphere with open seating. Oh yea, you can watch the game and have a beer. Nice.

There was live music, which was a really nice surprise! A pianist and a singer. We shared flash fried peppers and warmed mixed nuts. The peppers needed a little more salt, and I was able to get more salt fairly quickly from the staff. They had a decent selection of wine, and the vodka martini I had was nice. I think it's a lovely place to stop by for pre-dinner drinks (i think they had a full menu of heavier foods, not just appetizers if you're wanting something more filling), or after dinner drinks. It's also right by the movie theater, so probably nice for that as well I probably don't need to list all the occasions a drink could be had, hahaha. To our surprise, we were so thrilled to see Colony Wine Merchant had a good sized menu with various options to choose from: small bites, appetizers, entrees and dessert. We weren't too hungry so we opted for the daily sandwich of the day and their seasonal soup offering. Every bite from both items was enjoyed so much. The soup had the perfect consistency of creaminess followed by savory tomato flavor. It had some delicious (and I think) roasted potatoes, and the side of roasted sourdough with roasted tomatoes was perfection and really brought the dish together beautifully. The daily sandwich of the day was also fantastic! We remember biting into the sandwich and it melting in our mouth. The bread was beautifully crunchy and the meat with all its toppings inside couldn't have been any better. For our drinks, we opted to do a tasting of whites and reds. The wines were selected by our host (if I recall) and remember enjoying them all. It was fun to taste not only different varietals, but wines from different parts of the world. I was especially excited to see they had a really great selection of wine bottles to purchase in their wine shop. I happened to see one of my favorite ones there. We ended up purchasing a sparkling wine bottle at the end of our experience to have with our thanksgiving meal the following day. The service was A+. Every interaction from when we first walked in the door, being seated, being provided food recommendations, was a great experience. The ambiance is perfectly casual with a slight elevatedness to it. You don't have to wear a cocktail dress or tux to come here but it's definitely a perfect date night place or to come with friends and loved ones and enjoy a delicious meal followed by great wine. We were on a time crunch and wish we would have stayed to enjoy an actual entree but look forward to being back in town and visiting Colony Wine Merchant again.
