I met my date for lunch at the Treehouse. Loriel was very attentive and asked if I wanted something to drink. I was tempted to order a cocktail or beer but I decided to wait. I also had signed up for their discount program which offers a discount on golf food and beverage. I had the BBQ burger and onion rings and my companion had the fish tacos. The taco tray was loaded with three fish tacos on a white soft corn tortilla. I was lucky enough to be offered the last taco. The battered fish was great as well as the pico de gallo. Very tasty. My burger and onion rings were fantastic as well. I'd order either of them again. Next time I'll have a cocktail or a craft beer with my food. After my date took off, I came back to hit a large bucket ($14) at the range. With membership, it was 50% off, down to $7. The mats looked fairly new and the range balls were a mix of old and new golf balls. They also pipe in classic rock over their speaker system which was great. The Brea annual membership is $100 but I think I can recoup that in no time. The renewal is $80. So year two of the membership would be well worth it. Don't forget to check in on Yelp, 10% discount was offered on the check in deal.

Great food. Relaxing atmosphere Nice view. Burgers are very good. Fries and sweet potato fries delicious. Alcoholic beverages very reasonably priced. There's always a drink special. Service is very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend and wish more people would try this place as it's not crowded. Try it !

Surprise! Another 5-star, Taco Tuesday, evening, at Treehouse! This time we had a server by the name of Jackie! WOW! She is a valuable asset. We had a group of 4 out back by the fire pit. She was often checking on us before taco plates were emptied and beer glasses had gone dry. She remembered all of our orders correctly and who ordered them. Please keep her scheduled on Tuesdays! Lol. We keep falling in love with this place, over and over.

Lots of beers!!!!! For every type of beer fan. Also coors light draft is only $4 for happy hour

Awesome bar! A co worker reccomended this bar to me, as she knows I love live music. We ate here last night and heard the Hills Trio Band for the summer concert series. The bar has a beautiful open feel and the prices are great, given that this is at a golf course. The happy hour prices were top notch, I had one rum and soda water, and one glass of Mondavi cab. After happy hour, the Mondavi is only $5, soooo I had a few more glasses. The place gets packed, so I reccomend arriving at least 30 min before the band starts to get good seating. The crowd is older, id say 50 and up. However, my husband and I are in our 30s and 40s and consider ourselves old souls. We loved the vibe and the music. I ordered the hot dog with fruit. Very delicious and served on a pretzel bun. My husband ordered the cheeseburger with fries, and that meal was also delicious. We also split a cheese quesadilla appetizer, because we are big fans of ortega chilies. The quesadilla is loaded with plenty of yummy chilies. Overall, we can't wait to go back. We have added this place to our rotation of hangouts!!

Baja fish tacos, turkey avocado, and fried green beans!

Life happened, years passed, and somehow I never made it back. Fast forward to today: I was driving my Tesla, jokingly asked Grok to take me somewhere for a beer, and it pointed me right back here. Walking in felt like revisiting a place that had been quietly waiting in the background of my story. The centerpiece is still the incredible bar. Shelves stacked floor to ceiling with whiskey bottles, glowing green tile behind the taps, warm lighting, and enough character that you can spend half your time simply looking around. It's the kind of room that feels both energetic and comfortable at the same time. I grabbed a seat at the bar, watched a soccer match on the TVs, and ordered an Old Fashioned. It arrived exactly the way I hoped it would: large clear ice cube, generous orange peel, balanced and smooth without trying too hard. Just a well-made classic cocktail. What stood out most was the atmosphere. These days I'm much more likely to be exploring hiking trails, photographing wildflowers, or driving mountain roads than spending time in bars. Twelve years ago, places like this were a much more regular part of my life. Coming back reminded me why I enjoyed them in the first place. Good conversation, a comfortable seat, a quality drink, and no rush to be anywhere else. The beer taps looked extensive, the whiskey selection seemed endless, and the entire place struck a balance between neighborhood pub and whiskey destination. Funny how a random AI navigation suggestion brought me back to a place I'd been meaning to revisit for over a decade. Glad it finally did. 5 stars.

For some reason the refinery spend their 40 minutes cooking the hell out of my burger, and they could even put the tooth pick in the middle of my burger, like is it that hard to stab my burger in the middle. I honestly don't know how The Refinery inside the Hilton in Brea manages to stay open. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. First off, the place looks nice when you walk in, but that's where the positives end. The service was painfully slow -- not the "busy restaurant" kind of slow, but the "did anyone remember we're here?" kind. We waited forever just to get water, and it somehow took even longer for the food. Then the food actually showed up... and wow. Bland, overpriced, and somehow still cold. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. For a restaurant attached to a Hilton, I expected at least basic quality, but this felt like cafeteria food with steakhouse prices. To make things worse, the staff acted like helping customers was a huge inconvenience. No check-ins, no refills, no effort. Just vibes of "please eat and leave." Between the slow service, disappointing food, and ridiculous prices, this place feels like a tourist trap hiding in a hotel lobby. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Brea. Even a gas station snack run would be a better experience.

The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. Our waiter graciously accommodated our request to have the egg on the side. Off the entrée/taco menu, my friend ordered the Korean tacos and I got the Ensenada (fish) tacos. But you can also order the Ensenada tacos with shrimp. These were delicious, I would have loved a little more lime crema to go with the fish - but not a big deal. I got a Watermelon Margarita. Not exactly the warm welcome you hope for when you're coming in to celebrate a graduation. Then came the graduation promo cards. My daughter received several promotional cards as graduation gifts, and when I asked about using one, the manager's response felt oddly inconvenienced. I'm sorry... isn't the entire purpose of a promotional card to be used? The vibe was giving, "How dare you redeem the thing we literally gave you." Once seated, we waited over 10 minutes before our server stopped by. No greeting. No hello. No "How's everyone doing today?" Just an iPad appearing at the edge of the table followed by, "What can I get you?" Customer service seems to have gone on break before our server arrived. Thankfully, we already knew what we wanted: 2 All-American Burgers Cajun Fries House Bread Brussels Sprouts The food was fine. Not bad. Not amazing. Just... food. For dessert, we tried the Campfire Cookies and Strawberry Mint Butter Cake. Again, perfectly edible. Nobody cried tears of joy. Nobody started planning a return trip based on dessert alone. The funniest part? Out of the dozen graduation promo cards my daughter received, we only used ONE, plus a $50 gift card. After all that, our remaining balance was $2.86. And because I've worked in customer service and know how rough it can be, the server who showed absolutely zero personality with our table, while somehow becoming everyone's best friend at surrounding tables, still got the remaining change as a tip. Will I go back? Sure. I still have a stack of promo cards to burn through. And when I need a change of scenery, Lazy Dog will do the job. But if you're looking for exceptional service, memorable food, or an experience worth raving about? This wasn't it. Lazy Dog today wasn't terrible. It was just aggressively average.
