Chicken Shawarma Salad. Good!
Ari R.

Shawarma salad is a new menu item. It was really good! Two main areas for improvement are the chicken itself, it was dry, and that there's a sauce on the bottom of the place that makes everything touching it soggy. So overall great flavor and I would get it again but with all sauces on the side. I did get dressing on the side so whatever sauce was on the bottom of the plate, isn't considered a dressing Edamame we're average Pot roast was great! Not salty at all, very tender. Potato's were good with it.

Their fireside favorites are such great options! This time tried the shrimp tacos which didn't disappoint. Also opted to add the salad for $5 which is reasonably priced for the size. And their s'mores brownie is so sweet and rich! Great service and our pup loves seeing all the other dogs on the patio!

Enjoyed a delicious Easter brunch here! Great ambiance. Got there about 10 minutes before they opened--didn't have a reservation, but were seated immediately along with the many other people lined up outside before they opened. Some had reservations, especially larger parties. If you plan, do the reservation thing. I prefer to do that. But we were a small party so it worked out. My breakfast biscuit was decadent and delicious. Great fried egg cooked perfectly with delicious cheese and avocado and bacon. First time I've had a perfect fried egg at a restaurant. They do it right! The Cajun seasoned tots on the side were better fresh than reheated later. Not my fave. The side of candy bacon was also very nice-- balance of sweet and spicy was great. It's served slightly chilled, but was good. The peach bellini is perfectly bubbly-- not blended. Just the way I like it! Great portion of two full glasses per order. Strong champagne. Lovely and priced right for brunch. My daughter's pancakes with warm berry compote on the side were delicious. I couldn't resist eating one since the stack was so large. Shareable for sure! And her side of bacon and scrambled eggs were delicious also. Server was fabulous. Friendly and efficient. Overall great experience. I'll definitely return soon.

We hadn't been here in a very long time since they removed the pizza from their menu that we used to love. We decided to visit since we tend to see them very busy so they must be doing something right. We were able to find parking near the entrance and we received by the hostess promptly. We came in for a very early dinner or late lunch and decided to sit indoors. We got sat on a booth near the bar area. One thing we did notice is that the crowd was on the older side, but we didn't care. Another great perk that they have is that they have no corkage fee so we brought our own wine. The ambience is very casual with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating welcome pets and they have a water bowl. Although they were busy, Service was good and food came out relatively quick. They have a very extensive menu, which even includes dog friendly meal. We decided to start with the crispy deviled eggs, which were served with a small salad in the center. These were delicious. They were very crispy and the deviled egg was perfect, perfectly seasoned and decorated with a delicious candied bacon. From there, I decided to go with a New York steak, medium rare veggies and gratin potatoes. My steak was perfectly cooked then it was good. For being a place that is not a steakhouse, it was good but I would not say it was the best as you could tell that this was a previously frozen cut. The sides were delicious. My boyfriend decided to go for a burger with truffle fries. His burger was huge and it tasted delicious. I think I will go with something different next time, but it was still worth it. We could not leave without dessert, knowing that they had the s'mores the dessert. This was a huge portion for sure shareable. The brownie part of it was warm and fresh with the melted marshmallow on the top and one scoop of ice cream. Overall, we will be back. They have plenty of parking on the front and on the sides and a large sitting area. They have a wide variety in their menu, including healthy choices and no corkage fee. Also keep in mind that they update their menu based on season.

Updating my review since it's been a while. Today I ordered a delivery, and my bowl was once again delicious! I love their bowls, and actually ordered 2 for dinner and one for tomorrow. For being a chain, their food is always consistently good. I can't speak for their service today since it was delivered, but in the past we've had good experiences here as well. This is a very casual place with a relaxed vibe, and dogs are allowed out in the patio. They even have a doggy menu :)

Spaghetti Squash Beetballs AMAZING!!! I strongly suggest you try this dish it's absolutely delicious!!

Grant was our waiter he was Marie's Lumberjack lol. My Blue cheese burger and watermelon were delicious. Marie had the Chicken Pot Pie she loved it. She's going to order that again she said it was very good nice big chunks of chicken. Grant was very attentive and fast never left us waiting for anything. We like the booth we sat at nice and big and open so I'm not feeling like things closing in on me . Thank you Grant for the bandaids We hope to come back and have you as our waiter again.

damaged bowls they used to serve pudding

I went there around 3pm on a Sunday with my husband. It was not very busy. I see many open tables inside the restaurant. Yet, we had to wait 15 minutes to get seated. We ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Bowl from their new menu "$15 Fireside Favorites". This item comes with a banana pudding for dessert. In addition I ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. After placing our orders, we had to wait 35 minutes to get the food. I had to flag down my waitress to have her check on our order. When our food finally arrived, we didn't even have serving utensils. Service at this restaurant needs a lot of improvement. The chicken tortilla soup and the banana pudding was not bad. The Mediterranean chicken bowl: 2/5. Chicken was very dry. The rest of the stuff (rice, salad, hummus) that comes with the bowl was fine. Although the banana pudding tasted fine, I was not happy to see that the bowl they used to serve the pudding has many chips (damaged areas) in the bowl. They should retire these damaged bowls. Damaged bowls can be a health hazard. Overall, I was disappointed. Both food and service need improvement.

Hadn't been to Lazy Dog in a whileeee! But my boyfriend and I decided to have dinner here last night (05/28/26) & so glad we did! Kaeden (I don't know if I spelled that right I'm sorry!) was our server and he was fantastic! He was very efficient, knowledgeable and recommended some great appetizers & entrees! That guy was running all of the left side of the cocktail area and made it look easy (coming from a 15+ year experienced server myself lol) anddddd took a graduation party on top of all of that-props to you Kaeden! Because of his friendliness and how great of a server he was, my bf and I will definitely be back soon! (: The restaurant was also VERY clean & the two managers on duty looked very hands on and helpful to their team members. From a server, that's a BIGGG plus! I also wanted to mention- Kaeden notified us that Lazy Dog no longer servers Hush Puppies, Buffalo Cauliflower & Lemon Drop Martinis. (Whyyyyyy are you breaking my heart Lazy Dog those were some of the best items!) Hope they bring them back!! :( Thank you Kaeden & Lazy Dog Brea!

This location is becoming one of my favorite weekly destinations after work; Dense, John, Vincent, and staff always greets me like an old friend and valued guest! I love the layback atmosphere and rustic lodge decor of the Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar! Happy Hour prices are great as are the Fireside specials! Love coming in to relax and chill with the staff as well as some of the regular "barflies"! The Food is great and great value for your dollars! Hope to see y'all at the bar!

Wanted to add the lemon pepper tots to my review. These are such a delicious appetizer! It's great to share because there's enough to go around and you don't wanna spoil your dinner. The flavor is there and the tots are pretty crispy! I was skeptical at first but my husband wanted to try them and we were both impressed!

Went in for Valentine's Day, had a reservation and got seated about 5-10 mins after which felt pretty fast since there was a lot of people waiting to get seated without reservations. Our server was super nice and was fast with the food/drinks. I didn't need to ask for a refill, he just came and re filled when he saw we were low. The food was really good. I really enjoyed the rice and beans. My boyfriend said the steak and dipping was really good as well. Prices are not bad. I would recommend coming here! They also have a bar area which was pretty cool.

We've been going to Lazy Dog from time to time and generally enjoy it for its variety and casual vibe. This visit, we decided to try something a little different. We ordered the three starters for $25, which felt like a good deal. We like the Hot Honey Feta Dip served with grilled herb French bread. The dip was creamy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the bread, think it was the most impressive dish of the meal. The brussels sprouts and tikka masala meatballs were fine but fairly standard, nothing particularly memorable. Our kid ordered the cheeseburger with fries from the kids' menu. It was also pretty standard, but the portion size was generous and felt like good value. The entrées were a bit disappointing compared to the appetizers. The rice that came with the teriyaki chicken was dry and hard, and the kebab meat wasn't anything special. Service was okay. Staff were polite, but it was hard to get someone's attention when we needed help. We've been here many times, Lazy Dog is still a spot we'll come back to. The menu has enough variety and value that it works well for our family, and when they get it right, it's really enjoyable.

I visited Brea's Best Burgers for the first time and although I enjoyed my burger, I am disappointed by a single worker who ruined my experience. Ordering was easy with the female cashier. I didn't have to wait long for my hamburger. Once I saw it come from the back kitchen, I walked to the front window to wait for the male staff member in the middle kitchen to put it in a paper bag. While I stood at the front window, I noticed a female worker preparing either chili cheese or sweet potato fries in the back kitchen...and her colleague likely male who was standing to her left grabbed fries from the dish she was arranging. I didn't see the colleague put the fries in his mouth because by then I had to pick up my burger and the window slot doesn't allow me to see their bodies above their shoulder but the worker definitely dug his fingers into the customer's fries while the female worker didn't stop him and she continued to drizzle white sauce onto the fries. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNHYGIENIC for a worker to take a piece from a customer's order to likely consume himself. To be fair, even though I didn't watch long enough to see him put fries in his mouth, the way he put his hands on the fries didn't look like he was putting back fries that may have fallen off the plate onto their plating area, he definitely was trying to pull fries deep in the pile to get one that was drenched in sauce. I hope the owner sees this and trains staff better. I've attached a receipt for the owner to review the footage. Receipt timestamp is an hour behind... Receipt says 5:08 but my visit was 6:08. Beaides that, burger was good and I liked the char of the patty.

For some reason the refinery spend their 40 minutes cooking the hell out of my burger, and they could even put the tooth pick in the middle of my burger, like is it that hard to stab my burger in the middle. I honestly don't know how The Refinery inside the Hilton in Brea manages to stay open. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. First off, the place looks nice when you walk in, but that's where the positives end. The service was painfully slow -- not the "busy restaurant" kind of slow, but the "did anyone remember we're here?" kind. We waited forever just to get water, and it somehow took even longer for the food. Then the food actually showed up... and wow. Bland, overpriced, and somehow still cold. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. For a restaurant attached to a Hilton, I expected at least basic quality, but this felt like cafeteria food with steakhouse prices. To make things worse, the staff acted like helping customers was a huge inconvenience. No check-ins, no refills, no effort. Just vibes of "please eat and leave." Between the slow service, disappointing food, and ridiculous prices, this place feels like a tourist trap hiding in a hotel lobby. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Brea. Even a gas station snack run would be a better experience.
