We went here during COVID when only outside seating was available. We had a great burger and enjoyed sitting outside. We've since tried to go back but every time we try, the place is closed. One evening we stopped and there were people inside (8:45 PM on a Saturday night), but were told the restaurant closes at 9:00 PM. We mentioned that the website and Yelp said they were open till midnight. The owner proceeded to tell us that Yelp and the internet were run by Russian commies and we shouldn't pay attention to that information. It's unfortunate because the one time we tried it, it was good. We don't live nearby so when we try to go there, we drive quite a distance. Been several years since I have eaten there, and there is a reason. When it first opened the food was good, as time went on the portion and quality seemed to have gone down in my opinion. Hours of operation would change and then days open changed. It appears to me it's more of a drinking place, not my kind of place. read more

Locally owned and operated, this clean little resairant and bar have excellent burgers and daily specials! My go to is the Steeda Burger and fries or the Grilled Jumbo hotdog. The ice cream and milkshakes are top notch too! They do a great trivia game every week that is highly competitive. I see people playing pool all the time in the dedicated pool room. read more

I live about five minutes from Archer, but don't get there as often as I'd like because Gainesville is about five miles in the other direction and that's where most of my errands take me. When we moved here three years ago, the building now occupied by the Mustang had previously been a bar/restaurant, but was closed. When I saw the Mustang setting up, I resolved to try it, but didn't make it there until New Year's Day. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'll be back. The service is quick, courteous and friendly (at least at the "slightly late weekday lunch" hour -- they had business but weren't slammed) and the food is just out of this world. I had the Classic Mustang burger. The menu describes it as "two quarter pound patties cooked to perfection and smothered in grilled onions, provolone and cheddar cheese." Basically, the perfect big bar burger guaranteed to satisfy almost any appetite. I ordered mine just a shade rare of medium, and that's how it arrived -- light pink in the middle, juicy and delicious. The bun, cheese, etc. were fresh and everything just went together well. At the end of it, I wished I had room for another. In our fast-food world, it's easy to forget what a real properly prepared burger tastes like. This one is it. My wife ordered the "Tail Lights," and this is where it gets especially nice. That's a "veggie burger," specifically a chipotle-flavored black bean patty. She's a vegetarian, at least most of the time, and one problem we have is going out to eat and not being able to find suitable fare at the kinds of places we like (we're more for bar/grill type joints than yuppie/fru-fru places). This sometimes means she ends up eating an appetizer instead of a meal. No, it's not any fun trying to dig into, say, good barbecue when the woman across from you ordered the mac and cheese for lack of real vegetarian menu options. She let me have a nibble of the "Tail Lights," and I thought it tasted great. She liked it too, and joins me in wanting to return for a second round soon. We shared an order of fries. They're the "crinkly" kind. There were plenty of them and they were, once again, properly prepared -- golden brown and crispy exterior, soft on the inside. We both came away full, satisfied and happy that we'd picked the place for lunch together. There's an outdoor patio with tables for those who don't want to dine inside, but due to health regulations you'll have to order inside and take it out -- they can't wait on tables outside until they get it covered and screened in, the server told us. We sat inside and watched a few minutes of the Citrus Bowl (the only downer part of the experience -- go Gators!) on well-placed televisions over the bar and at the rear of the dining area. We didn't sample the alcohol, but the bar appeared well-stocked. I'm a bourbon man. I didn't notice my favorite brand (Old Crow) on the shelf, but that's not unusual, few bars stock it. But they did have Jim Beam, Wild Turkey, Maker's Mark, etc., and other types of liquors seemed equally well-chosen to cover the spread of preferences as well. As we left, the proprietor invited us back for trivia or karaoke night. And we'll probably do that. Or at least more lunches. I've been craving another one of those Mustang burgers ever since I walked out the door. read more

Absolutely horrible! DONT WASTE your money $!. Owner is disrespectful to ALL women, especially the waitresses. Talks down to them,like they are trash. Food is tasteless and overpriced. Dont get me started on the drink prices. If you want to waste a couple hours eating dry burgers and paying out the ass for everything, then by all means, have at it. read more

This place has a bunch of great snacks if you see any bad reviews it's probably from an ex-employee that's being an a******. I have never had a bad meal there ...... drink specials and the food specials are fantastic. They also have items at a lot of other restaurants don't carry which is nice and refreshing the owner and a staff there truly care about the food and service. read more

we're proud to have this beautiful grill and bar in Archer. throughout the pandemic, they strived to stay open and serve a grateful small town. this location has long been a feature of Archer. kudos to Mr. Sean Willis for bringing it back to life and offering such a lovely, affordable place to gather with our community. they're now working on a new menu--but i'll always love their burgers best. read more

The wife and I have frequented this place probably 75 times in the past two years because it is close to our place, but no more. We tried all sorts of things on the menu but invariably we leave with major indigestion. But we kept coming back hoping it would get better. The food is sub par and the worst part is that some of the booze is definitely watered down. The only way to be sure it is not is to get a beer in a bottle. The last straw was that we over heard the owner talking badly about other regular patrons a couple months ago. We never were fond of him but that put us over the edge. There are plenty of places to eat with better food, non-watered down booze and nice owners. Don't waste your money. Drive a little farther and have a more enjoyable experience. read more

Although it's listed as a grill and bar, which would make you think it was primarily a grill, it's mainly a bar. The food is what is typically served at a bar: burgers, chicken tenders, appetizers, and sides. The food is well prepared with enough variations to suit most tastes. There are some side items that are unique. Servers are a delight, cheerful and attentive. Service is a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait for the most part. read more

Really looked forward to having at least a good local burger joint and finally...The Mustang Grill & Bar! Impressed with the quality of their double cheeseburger and the onion rings were the best I've had in a long time. The facility was remarkably clean and neat & enjoyed the Western theme. Wait staff and management were helpful and friendly, but food came a bit slow. They have a room full of video games and another with 2 pool tables plus darts & full bar.
