Just had to drop the stars a bit since I went much later to do a carry out order at around 6pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathroom was hideous and the bar was full full![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So if you want to at least sit at the bar for a drink while you wait for your food come before then because you won't have a seat to sit at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely have a crowd that seems of regulars as they were greeted and just walked straight in toward the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

1 pound Shrimp boil with sausage

I can't say I am a seafood boil connoisseur but the boil here is the most flavorful I have had so far. The prices are reasonable. I got a pound of shrimp and added half a pound of sausage which came to $25 and some change. They add automatic gratuity (had a table of 4 people) which is understandable. However, I wasn't impressed with the service. We went on a Thursday night which it was pretty busy and lively. Our server kept trying to mentally take down our orders without writing it down but then he would have to ask us again what we each ordered. Needless to say, the service was pretty slow. He was nice but he also forgot to give us the basics, like everything lol, the gloves, aprons, buckets. He eventually realized he did have it when we brought it to his attention. He quickly brought them to the table. If you live in DC it's a bit of a ways out. Almost a 40 minute drive but it was worth it. The area is a bit sketch at night. It's in shopping center and the night we went there were police hanging out in the parking lot. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing lol but as for the food, it was great. I would mostly take out from there the next time but I also wouldn't mind dinning in, I would just go at a time that was less crowded.

We ordered tonight for NYE dinner. First, we ordered online because due to covid restrictions, you can't dine in restaurants in PG County. When we got to the restaurant, the line was long and the WAIT to PICK uP food was about 30-45 mins. So, I took off stars as there should be a better system for those who order in advance! I ordered the daily specials of the seafood boil. Specifically, the Snow Crab Special. It contained A 1/2 lb Snow crab , 1/2 lb Headless Shrimp , 1/4 lb Sausage , 2 Corn, and 2 Potato. The sauce was medium cajun garlic. The shrimp was heads off. The crab legs were easy to open and contained a lot of meat. I love how the sausage was cut up. I also tasted the boiled egg and it was delicious. It was tasty but wasn't the best seafood boil I've had in the DMV.

My experience here is always great. Never disappoints. My favorite is the catfish, fried shrimp or a shrimp bag with buttery sauce. Strawberry Hennessy is my go to. Ms. Tracey is one of my favorite bartenders!!

So I wanted to wait u til I came back for a 2nd time to do this review! One of the reasons is because of the mixed reviews that I have heard about this place. Some people said that it was good, others said it was terrible. I wanted to know for myself so... The first time we came, I ordered a Hennessy Margarita! Let's just say...you don't need to order two! LOL. Our waiter Damien was swamped with tables but he was so good. It's always good to have good waiters. I ordered a half pound crab legs and half pound shrimp with the BOOM SAUCE (Damien suggested it). IT WAS AMAZING!!!! We also had the shrimp platter and that was also good. The food was fresh! The second time we came, 2 days later, our waitress was Alisha! Quick, pleasant, and about her business! I LOVE IT! We ordered the calamari (DELICIOUS) and another half shrimp and half snow crab bag. I am a seafood lover so I appreciate good, fresh seafood. Hopefully, Crafty Crab continues in this vein with the drinks, and the fresh food. Don't ghetto the place out. PLEASE! I really like this spot!

Now, I wasn't really happy about our seat but I couldn't see behind the wall to know if there was another table to request to move to. We were sat in the front corner I guess directly under a vent and it was already chilly outside. I didn't let it bother me because I really wanted to try ERRTHANG on the menu. Now, this is where I was about to get up and leave. We sat for a good while and NO ONE came to greet, take a drink order, or even ask have we been helped. I want to say it's because we were somewhat out of sight. Because it was freezing I got up and asked for another table, which was on the other side of the wall with all the other customers and much warmer even with the patio bar doors open. No, I don't remember my waiters name, but he came over immediately and apologized for us being stranded in the back. We went on to order our drinks which came fairly quickly and we ordered our food. I was kind of disappointed because he said they no longer served fried crab legs and should be taken off the menu, but that's OK. I was ready to order something else. I had Chef Mo's Shrimp & Grits and when I say it's the best shrimp and grits I've ever had in my life. It was amazing. The grits were three cheese grits with crawfish, étouffée, and large perfectly shrimp with some BOMB jalapeño beef sausage, which I would have removed, but I said let's do it. Best decision I've ever made. I cannot stop thinking about the grits. My friend ordered the Cajun fried fish and grits with a side of eggs (no pic). We both raved the entire time about how creamy and delicious the grits were. I didn't need to add anything, no butter, no salt, no sugar. They were absolutely amazing and I'm not even a huge grits fan. Now, the fish, the menu stated half a pound, which came out to be one small piece of whiting. I guess I was expecting a bigger piece or maybe two pieces because it was so tiny but that baby filet was seasoned to the gods, I mean perfect. The breading was so flavorful but not overpowering or salty. The eggs tasted like the eggs I had in the marines out of a bag, but he mix them with the grits and was fine. Everything was so good that we thought about coming back later that night to try something else. Please bring back the deep-fried crab legs

The space has more of a neighborhood restaurant with a small bar vibe, and they were playing a solid R&B playlist that kept the atmosphere relaxed. The highlight of my visit was server, Denise. She was friendly, patient, and really helped me narrow down my food selections. If the restaurant sees this, please thank her for me and give her a BIG, FAT RAISE!!! Now...the food. It was just...mid. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing stood out either. It wasn't memorable enough to have me thinking about coming back. Considering they're a Cajun-Latin fusion restaurant, I expected bolder flavors and more of a wow factor. As for the location, it's in an area that's clearly being revitalized and gentrified, but it's still not one of my favorite parts of town. The restaurant gives neighborhood bar energy more than destination restaurant vibes. Would I come back? Probably not on purpose. If I happened to be in the area with friends, and we needed a quick stop for food or drinks, sure. But I wouldn't make a special trip just to eat here. Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with vibrant colors and very clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was okay. Not bad and just good in my opinion. Its not rave worthy but its still good. I would come back and try other options. This is still a good healthier option oppose to the many of terrible choices we have to choose from, this beats most unhealthy fast foods restaurants. For that reason I would return to try other food options. If you like chickpeas then this is your meal, Im not so it threw off the salad to me. I would have preferred chicken. Honestly, everything came together nicely as one salad, nothing was over powering. I'm just not a fan of chickpeas. They do have an option for shrimp but dont eat bottom feeders so that wasn't an option for me. My tastebuds are much different from yours so I would still give it a try. You might like it a little more than me. Its still a fairly good meal.
