Menu! I forgot to include in my review that they gave popcorn as an appetizer. Great touch!

It's a BIG, FAT, CAPITAL NO for one main reason. Let me start with the pros: great decor (seafood theme everywhere with huge images). It's very spacious and clean. The service was good. The hush puppies were so good, the shrimp and corn in the seafood boil I had was okay...not bad. The MAJOR CON: the crab legs were TRASH!!! They were small and tasted stale. This is the worst crab legs I have ever experienced. The menu is too restrictive. In the seafood boil combo, the restaurant won't let you substitute a menu item for another in the same price and category. Originally, I wanted something else (same price) besides the hush puppies and potatoes. Interesting enough, those two turned out to be really good to my surprise, the best taste in my seafood boil combo. I cannot see myself returning back because of the HORRIBLE crab legs. I should have went up the street to their competitors where I had a better experience. One of the staff also informed me that the Bowie location has all you can eat seafood boils. I should have tried that location. This was a BIG WASTE after a long stressful day. It was my first meal after fasting over 18 hours too, smh. Want more authentic opinions? Yummmm went for happy hour and enjoyed our friendly bartender, tasty drinks and good priced appetizers. A lot of locals frequent the bar. We did not have the seafood boil.

The service was a little slow the food was good other than my sissy's pasta dish being salty. The portions are much smaller compared to the costs. Dinner with my two nieces was priceless!

I tried this place while I was in DC visiting with family. I'm a huge seafood fan so this was my type of spot. I can pass up a good crab boil. I had the snow crabs with boiled eggs, sausage , corn, potato, and shrimp. I mixed all three of the sauces together to go with my boil. I had a Stella Artois to go with my meal.

    Oyster basket works for me.

Delicious food, attentive staff and the cleanest men's restroom ever! I highly recommend this spot.

I walked in, and was seated at a dirty table, no waitress for 10 mins, and when I look at the menu, I find out if they pay people for five star reviews. Run!

The place was really buzzing on a Friday night ... Good music and lots of laughter. A great place if you want your spirits lifted. I was promptly seated; service was fast, courteous and attentive. I had the shrimp basket with sweet potato fries and a margarita. The food is good. The only thing missing was some friends with which to share the lively atmosphere.

The dish was beautifully balanced: tender, flaky salmon layered over crispy potatoes with just the right seasoning. Each bite had that comforting brunch richness without feeling heavy, and the flavors were well thought out. It's one of those plates that makes you pause for a moment because you realize someone in the kitchen really understands how to build flavor. Beyond the food, the staff deserves recognition. From the moment we walked in, the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Even during the busy brunch rush, the service never felt rushed or transactional. Our server checked in at just the right moments and made sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere here always feels lively but still relaxed, the kind of place where you can catch up with friends over good food and leave feeling taken care of.

We were given broccoli which we do not need... when asked to substitute it for something was told that they could not. Why ask how you want your steak cooked when it was this thin??? The burnt bread for the burger was crazy for the price. Ordered a side of mac & cheese for $11. The portion was super tiny. Additionally the staggering of time my family got their food was crazy, my daughter got her food, 10 min later my husband's food came out and then five minutes later after that, my son's food came out. We were there to eat as a family. It was crazy how it's staggered. Was never checked on for a refill of drink drinks. Do not recommend this location due to the attitude of the servers. They did not care nor did they care to make anything correct or anyone happy. Will stick to milk and honey in Fairfax, Virginia we care about their patrons.

The wings were delicious. I tried the sweet and spicy sesame flavor. It leaned more sweet than spicy, but the flavor was so good. The salad was incredibly fresh. Even the side of spinach was served in a bowl that wasn't even filled. The wait time didn't help either--it took about 30 minutes for my salmon to arrive. After finishing my meal, I was still hungry and ended up looking for another place to eat. I really wanted to enjoy the experience, but it just didn't meet my expectations, especially for the price.

If Chipotle had a soulful, culturally rich cousin... it would be Spice Black. Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with vibrant colors and very clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was okay. Not bad and just good in my opinion. Its not rave worthy but its still good. I would come back and try other options. This is still a good healthier option oppose to the many of terrible choices we have to choose from, this beats most unhealthy fast foods restaurants. For that reason I would return to try other food options. If you like chickpeas then this is your meal, Im not so it threw off the salad to me. I would have preferred chicken. Honestly, everything came together nicely as one salad, nothing was over powering. I'm just not a fan of chickpeas. They do have an option for shrimp but dont eat bottom feeders so that wasn't an option for me. My tastebuds are much different from yours so I would still give it a try. You might like it a little more than me. Its still a fairly good meal.

The name is deceptive. There are so many lunches and dinners to choose from here that are not…read moreseafood, in addition to the abundance of seafood. It's a fact: Mid-Atlantic Seafood can be easily overlooked for non-seafood options, ie where else in the area - or anywhere close ie New Carrolton, Landover Hills, Lanham, Seabrook, Glendale and Greenbelt - can you find at least 8 types of cake slices, 6 cheesecake flavors and 6 pies? The answer is nowhere unless you are at a grocery store or a bakery. I'll go over the types of desserts later. Any entree that comes with sides will give you 30 choices. Which of the 30 sides will you choose?! With so many dining options to choose from, do yourself a favor: flip-thru all of the menu options at the tiny menu monitor to the left of the dessert case before deciding what to eat because out of the 9 gigantic, rotating monitor menus, I didn't as easily see half of what they actually offer. Just go to the small monitor and read about all of the appetizers, salads, entrees and deserts efficiently. Alternatively, visit https://mid-atlanticseafood.com/new-carrollton/ on your phone. Seriously: aside from all of the seafood on the large monitors, you can get turkey, homemade meatloaf, barbecue chicken and ribs. As for the 30 sides to choose from, some are macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and French fries. We loved the mac-n-cheese. And the cheesy potatoes look overly rich but they are not. Really enjoyed those, too. These are classic potatoes au gratin with a bit of extra cheese and a lot of flavor. They also serve diverse varieties of other sides, including lo mein, white rice and cornbread. Not to mention the grilled vegetables, green beans, cheesy broccoli, corn and other options on the massive and never-ending steam table. On the 9 main video screens, you can get more than 7 kinds of fish and choose if you want it fried, baked or grilled. We wanted ours' baked. The waiter recommended to have it grilled because it would take less time and be more tender. We didn't listen to his advice, but he was right. Our baked fish was ok but we would love to come back and taste it grilled. The variety of fish offered is impressive, from ocean perch to salmon to tilapia to flounder to grouper to mahi mahi to whiting. You can also order crabs, snow crab legs and shrimp. Also want to try the stuffed shrimp here. When it says, "stuffed," that means with crabmeat. They have a garlic butter seafood boil here with crab legs, spiced shrimp, andouille chicken sausage, corn, etc. Meow. The chicken comes 4 ways: barbecued, fried or baked and as chicken wings. They have 3 types of pork chops: grilled, fried and smothered with gravy. Their entrees come with a choice of white bread, wheat bread, a potato roll or a slice of cornbread for an upcharge of $1.00. I didn't taste the cornbread on this visit but I'd like to, next time. One team member passionately said it was really good. We tried the mango slaw and it was good but not sweet. I heard the regular cole slaw is even better, so I would like to try that because I'm guessing it's as good as all the rest of their food we tried. I would also like to try the crab fried deviled eggs and the Cajun steamed mussels. Not to mention a lot of other dishes there! And now back to the cakes. They have so many desserts to choose from. I mean: multiple flavors of cakes, cheesecakes, pies, etc. They even have Smith Island cakes, which are a thinly-layered and stacked legendary Chesapeake Bay tradition. The current flavors are chocolate, red velvet and coconut at time of writing. We enjoyed our lemon short cake, the lemon berry marscapone cake and the mixed berry shortcake. Six different flavors of cheesecake, anyone? I'll next try the sweet potato and cinnamon cheesecake, please. They also have 6 kinds of pies including pecan, key lime and cookies and cream. The design of Mid-Atlantic Seafood is understated, clean and simple: counter service, a cold case of desserts and salads, a series of long steam table ms and a small eat-in dining area for maybe 20 people. The restrooms: clean and regularly checked. The staff are all helpful and busy. Good people serving good food! Do consider this a cafeteria, specializing in seafood with an out-of-this-world bakery.
