Crafty Squirrel is a really great place. We sat outside and watched some of the games on the big screens. The bartender was entertaining bustin our chops (comically that is). The establishment was very nicely done. But the food was dynamite . I had the Quesabirria Bomb which was 3 individual quesadillas stuffed with Ropa Vieja (braised beef) with this dipping sauce that was outstanding. Great experience, We will be back. A friend & I stopped here for a bite before a Tuesday night show at Jannus Live. We were enticed by their Taco Tuesday & Happy Hour sidewalk sign! And we only saw one occupied table inside, plus a few people at the bar, so we hoped they wouldn't be too busy. Walking in, we were greeted by the bartender & told to sit anywhere. But after that, we waited more than ten minutes for a server to approach us. By then we were ready to order everything. We started with the Four Cheese Spinach Dip, which also came with tortilla chips & small slices of toasted bread. We really could've made a meal of this app! It was incredibly tasty. We also each got one taco... I think we chose one chicken & one beef. They were also good, but even better at $3! Cashing out was another wait, as we never saw our server again after our tacos were brought out (by someone else); I had to flag down the bartender who was serving a new table. The infrequent service was disappointing because we initially had plenty of time to order two rounds of drinks before our concert. Nonetheless, I'll return here to try other things on the menu. This is my go to place after work on Thursday. Its a great people watching spot, beer is always cold and even better in a cold glass. Food is above average for a bar, good food.My absolute favorite bartender, Dev, is not their every Thursday, very disappointing. In somebody's ultimate wisdom, they decide to rotate the bartender's between Thursdays and Fridays. It's dumb and I wish they'd stop it. Went to this bar at 4pm 8/13 Wednesday and waited five mins to get served. Came for happy hour special to be overcharged because I open up a tab. I had $15 on my card. I went for bogo deal 2 for $7 for this incompetent bartender chick to say I don't have money. So I go to bank account and I see $ $12 deducted. Then said when you open up a tab they hold $25 buck. Leaving this review to warn others. According to the police we spoke to, this place is KNOWN for pick pocketing! Someone unzipped my friend's purse and took her phone and wallet. Find my iPhone was immediately off so they turned the phone off...so not their first rodeo. By the time we spoke to the police they said there were already 3! 3! People who said the same thing happen and it was still early in the night. We tried speaking to the bartenders but they didn't even check and just automatically responded with "we don't have it".... Honestly this is probably one of my favorite bars in the DTSP area. The food is phenomenal, the staff is cool and the music is always great! I love that they have the option to build your own pizza and that they offer dairy free cheese! The pizza is filling and satisfying for sure. Another great item they have to share with the table is the giant pretzel - and when I say giant I mean filling enough for 3-4 people! Now I'm sure you want to know about the drinks if you are still reading this - my personal favorite is the Reptar mixed cocktail. That is one of their custom drinks there. I've never tasted pine sol but if I ever do, I'd imagine it tastes like the Moscow mule that I was served. It literally was the worst thing I've tasted in a while. The only saving Grace of this place is the music and the Bulgarian pretzel. Service was subpar. They looked like they were done for the day and ready to go. They were cleaning over the top. I understand staying tidy but these guys weren't still for any amount of time while I was there. Is it excellent work ethic or annoyance for working and trying to end the night early?
