So to start, thus place ain't cheap and the food is just okay. Food and drinks are pricey here. The service is top notch. Like really good. Why I am only giv8ng two stars is on their menu they have a Cajun ribeye. It is Cajun because it come with Cajun butter. I ordered it medium and it was cooked medium, but it was dry like it had started out frozen. It also in my humble opinion was not a ribeye, but a thick cut sirloin. My server said that was not the case, but I eat and cook a whole lot of steak and I don't think my pallet is that off. So there is that.

This is a comfortable bar & restaurant with good atmosphere and great service. The salmon BLT special and the Cuban sandwich were delicious!! Our friends loved their burgers. I could do without the sides though... black beans & rice were bland and Caesar was underdressed and underwhelming. They have a good cocktail & beer menu.

Three stars for the service as they seem to try at first but once we ordered it went downhill. We sat outside as it was a beautiful warm evening. After sitting down there were constant bugs and beetles falling on our table out of nowhere. Our server promptly informed us a card must be put on file before orders are placed. Once we did that and placed our order we felt forgotten as no one came back to the table until they delivered our meals. We ordered buffalo chicken wings which we moist on the inside and had a decent amount of sauce on them. Good but not enough to come back. The Cuban sandwich was subpar at best as it had little to no meat on it and was barely toasted as the cheese was no melted at all. We paid for the $3 up charge for seasoned fries. They were cold and completely undercooked. Getting our check seemed impossible as no staff had been coming outside and we were waiting a solid 20+ minutes after finishing eating. Safe to say we will not be returning.

For a bar (and not for a bar), the food is stellar. Get the blackened mojo wings and thank me later! I love that it's always mood lighting and dim ambiance. The playlist always hits! I love their drinks. Service was friendly, but slow in a European way. The bar gives a lowkey-seat yourself-stay a while vibe. A good post-work hang!

This is one of the best places in downtown Saint Pete. Not only as the staff friendly kind and quick. Most of them have worked there for many years. The food is always made from scratch and fresh. Anytime I go I always feel like I'm a part of a family. If you have friends who like watching sports, they have several TVs on with different games going on. I highly recommend this place. It's a great place for everyone.

Enjoyed dinner here on a rainy night. Service was great - got our drinks quickly & were by often to check on us & take our order - Edamame dumplings with a tasty slaw was delish! 2 people from our table enjoyed the Don Pollo sandwich, 1 person got the cheeseburger, & I got the coconut shrimp. We all enjoyed our food & drinks. Atmosphere is like a dive bar, dark inside & casual - great for us!

Another awesome trip to the Galley! Came with a friend who was visiting to watch some games and have some food/drinks. I usually stick with beer or seltzer here but tried a cocktail this time - it was veryyy strong! Their food menu is incredibly diverse - how many places can you get both cheese & steak fries and a fried tofu bowl? Our table ordered both and a few other things too! Service was great, ambience was good - not too quiet, not too crazy. My only downside is that it is always really cold in here so I have to remember to bring a jacket!

Great place Amazing staff good food great pricing !!!Def come!!Had the grouper sandwich delicious!!!

Not near the beach, no views of anything but a busy street, never the less was a busy place. We ate there- didn't have fish, but had corned beef and cabbage meal and a cheeseburger. We were dissapointed. The bartenders were attentive and nice- even though they were busy.

Searched around for a spot to meet a friend for dinner in a casual spot. Yelp guided me to The Galley and it did not disappoint. It truly looks like a dive bar as you enter, with a full maritime themed bar to the left, hightops in the center and a booths along the right wall. There were only a few patrons on this Wednesday, but it was only 6:30 and this is primarily a drinking establishment. Service was quick and friendly. The menu is pretty comprehensive, and as luck would have it, Weds is Prime Rib night. And Prime Rib it was! The fresh sliced steak was perfect - rare, juicy, flavorful. It's served with potatoes and a veggie, all for $16.95! This was on par with the best prime rib I've eaten. Excellent food and great deal. Certainly not white tablecloth service... but the food is great. And there's an extensive array of bourbon to sip, as an added bonus.

**** Review 149 **** While driving around, I decided to top in for a quick lunch. I've been here before, but it was a few years back and couldn't remember the food, just remembered that it was good service. The decor is cool, I think they were going for an old pirate ship style, with great music in the background. Drinks are pretty much what you expect for a downtown spot, but they do have specials. (FYI: the W-F specials start at 6pm). I ordered the Cuban Bowl, itms their take on the Cuban sandwich without the bread. The portion was more than satisfying. The pulled pork was on point! Over all, this dish was superb. The staff are really friendly and very accommodating. Now I was here for a late lunch, so it wasn't packed. Last time I was here, it was packed and their staff was still great. Some of their other menu items include fresh local Grouper, maybe I'll try it next time. Over all, I've had a great experience. I highly recommend it if you're downtown St. Pete.

A welcome reprieve in the heart of St Pete. It's been a long day for this working mama and I needed some good food and some potent drinks. I came here on a Wednesday night, hoping for some prime rib. It was sold out in an hour and a half. I guess it's a hotspot how I never knew about it? I don't know....I had the calamari and the sweet potato and sausage soup instead. It was delicious and def a comfort food. The warm wood ambiance and great service made me want to come back next Wednesday and the Wednesday after. I popped in next-door for some espresso martinis with Bartender, Brian and enjoyed my time after a long days work It's a local spot with Saint Petersburg's finest at the bar, shooting in the shhhhh and joking about their business days I'll definitely be back to this spot, not only for the reasonably priced libations but also just for the good vibes. Five stars

There's dedicated parking for the restaurant behind the building in the lot, plus metered street parking and garages within less than a block. The main entrance is on the side of the building, on 5th Street S just off 6th Avenue S. Outdoor seating is available, but I personally wouldn't choose it, sitting right next to a busy intersection with constant traffic and exhaust isn't my idea of enjoyable. That said, the interior ambiance alone is worth the visit. Inspired by the historic George Peabody Library and part of the Oxford Commons Hospitality group, the design is quirky, fun. The thoughtful mix of bookshelves, warm lighting, rich browns and deep blues, and the seamless blend of library, bar, and dining space creates a truly special atmosphere, especially if you love books. We visited as part of a large group for a special occasion dinner. They accommodated us on very short notice after our original plans changed due to possible rain and outside seating only at our first reservation, which was impressive. Our waitress was fantastic, she handled our entire table (and others) by herself with no buss person and still managed every order and individual request with genuine care and efficiency. I haven't tried breakfast, lunch, the morning coffee/pastry take-out window, or the bar yet, but the dinner experience was excellent. Fair warning: this is not a budget-friendly spot. If you're watching every dollar or might resent the food due to prices, it's probably not the place for you. It's ideal for special occasions or when you want to enjoy a meal without worrying about the cost, each dish/cocktail is in line with upscale dining in the area,it does add up quickly with drinks, apps, entrees, and sides, though I read they have happy hour. We ordered appetizers (shared), I also had the opportunity to sip a few cocktails (when offered), I also shared entrees, and sides with some of our group. Everything we tried was very good, there were not stand-outs, all was scrumptious, from the start of appetizers: the warm bread with its delicious butter spread, the roasted cauliflower, the spicy crispy shrimp, the Steak Frites, the perfectly cooked French fries, and the sautéed spinach, all of which I had a taste of personally. The portions looked modest on the plates but were surprisingly filling, many of us had leftovers to take home. We finished with the warm cookie and ice cream, which was hands-down amazing, especially with the perfect touch of flaky salt on top. The cocktails were strong and creative. My first choice (suggested by the waitress) wasn't quite to my taste, it was too tart and strong for me, but she immediately removed it from the bill and happily brought me something else I enjoyed much more. Overall, The Library delivers a memorable experience, amazing ambiance, a beautiful setting, attentive service, and excellent food. Next time I'm trying breakfast.

The restaurant is uniquely decorated with floor-to-ceiling books and those old-world aristocratic portraits that make you feel like you've stepped into a quaint literary hideaway. We were seated in a cozy corner with high-backed cushioned chairs that felt like our own little private nook. Perfect for a special occasion that's kind of low key. Even though the restaurant was quite busy, the noise level was surprisingly low, which we really appreciated. It made it easy to relax and enjoy our time without feeling overwhelmed. Service was also great - attentive, friendly, and well-paced despite the crowd. Now, the menu... it was honestly hard to choose because so many items sounded amazing. We ended up ordering the crispy Brussels Sprouts and the warmed Burrata to start. The Brussels Sprouts were flavorful and enjoyable, though I personally would have loved just a bit more char on them for that extra depth. The burrata, on the other hand, was packed with flavor - especially if you're a fan of sun-dried tomatoes, this is definitely a must-try. The drinks were a standout, my lychee martini was light, smooth, and refreshing, while my husband's old fashioned was bold and perfectly crafted. He is quite the stickler for a good old fashioned. For our mains, my husband kept it classic with a bacon cheeseburger and fries, which he really enjoyed. It had that delicious smash burger style that hits the spot. I ordered the Chicken Paillard, and it was absolutely delicious--light, fresh, and full of flavor without feeling heavy. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and agreed that we'd definitely come back. There were still so many dishes we were tempted to try, and that's always a great sign. The Library is a unique and memorable spot that's perfect for brunch, date nights, or any special occasion. Give it a try!

Surprisingly mild on flavor despite the toppings, and it's a BIG boy... which I know some people love, but I tend to prefer a smash burger so I'll take partial responsibility for that note! The fries, however, were excellent... textured, crispy, exactly how fries should be. The real standout of the visit was the chilaquiles (the chef's brunch special). It ran a little dry, but the flavors more than made up for it. The combination of crunchy tortilla chips, smoky sauce, pickled onions, egg, avocado, and cilantro all together was just so good... my boyfriend was equally obsessed. Would absolutely order again. Ours was Thursday at 8 pm and definitely not needed but I wanted to ensure I got that window seat for the sunset! To be honest, the food was not my favorite. I got the wonton tuna tartar tacos as an appetizer and easily my favorite of the night. I also ordered the snapper plate that was served with blistered tomatoes, creamed corn, and tostones. It was fine. Nothing to write home about and I did have to ask for salt. My husband ordered the shrimp scampi and the shrimp was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The pasta was a bit lacking. He also ordered steak frites (to go) and the steak was a bit overdone and dry. Not enough to send it back or make a fuss but not exactly what we wanted either. The dining room is cute and cozy. We had a window seat and didn't realize our sunset view was going to be behind the skyline. It was still gorgeous though. The kitchen has sort of an open concept and I'm not sure if that contributed to how warm it is in the dining room. They had a couple of industrial fans blowing to help but it is on the top floor with wide windows and the Fl summer sun shining right in. It's to be expected. I've seen it a lot since I've been visiting but it should be noted that almost every establishment comes with a 20% service charge. All of the staff we interacted with informed us of this before ordering though so not a big deal. Our server was absolutely attentive and so kind.
