It took me nearly 3 months to calm down enough to write this review. I initially had great experiences with Craig's but now I am very sad to say I will never be returning. I wanted a new flat piercing right next to an existing flat. The piercer gave me a VERY crocked new flat and it has caused me lots of problems. When I went to downsize the post (and my older flat post that was done at a different shop), I was given posts that were so short that they squeezed my ear. It swelled and gradually got worse until I could no longer take the pain. Returning to Craig's I was met with a near 2 hour wait time for a simple jewelry change while sitting in pain and listening to very loud crying children. It is ridiculous that they say you don't need an appointment for a jewelry change. Plus they won't give you one either. The piecer was kind and said that they wouldn't charge me for new posts (although it would have been pretty unethical to charge me at that point to fix their own error in choosing a post size). Returning home with a headache and sore ear I noticed that the new posts were outrageously long. I went to a new piercer the following day and they confirmed that the posts were obnoxiously long, the piercing done at Craig's was very crocked, and that my experiences were shocking overall. I thought this was a high end shop but I was very wrong, wasting time, money, and frustration. I also noticed that the business owner has responded to all one and two star reviews pretty harshly, even calling one person paranoid. Kind of scared of the reaction I will get. Also the owner has questioned why one reviewer took so long to write a review, as I mentioned earlier, we are frustrated and it takes a while to calm down... read more

Got a nostril piercing by Amy, who was, as other reviewers have mentioned, incredibly thorough about explaining the process, including the piercing itself, jewelry handling, and aftercare. I felt very comfortable and sure in the chair. She marked the spot, let me verify positioning with a mirror, then stuck a sterilized needle through my nose to insert the tiny gold stud of my choosing. Front desk lady was very friendly and efficient. The entire visit from form signing to walking out the door, piercing in nose, lasted no more than 20 minutes. I live in DC and certainly have closer piercing shops to me, but chose CraigPokesU for the great reviews. I am so glad I did, no regrets! Fantastic experience with CraigPokesU this past Saturday evening. My wife has been going to CraigPokesU these past 2 years for her piercing work (ear). We are very pleased with how closely CraigPokesU adheres to state mandates and regulations to ensure all piercings are performed by a certified workforce in accordance with health compliance standards. Well, after 2 years of talking about it, I made an appointment using their web-based scheduling tool to get my nipples pierced. Go ahead and laugh! Long story short, Blake was my technician and did a fantastic job preparing and educating me for the procedure. They sanitized the jewelry, marked the spots that would be pierced, and executed the piercings always ensuring I was ready and relaxed and comfortable. It was definitely not as painful as i anticipated, more like a deep, intense pressure that passed once the needle and jewelry was inserted. I would put the pain level as a "5" on a scale of 1 - 10. Piercings for two nipples along with the barbells was roughly $190. I LOVE my piercings and even my wife is now talking about getting hers done. I highly recommend CraigPokesU! Take cash although there is an ATM on site. Also make sure you bring a government issued ID (driver's license, passport). Military IDs cannot be used as it is not lawful to take pictures of a military ID. I learned that Saturday night! read more

My daughter recently had her ear lobes pierced at CraigPokesU. We had heard great things from other parents and those reviews were happily confirmed. This was her first piercing, and she was nervous and very excited, but Blake and Holly were great. They welcomed her when she arrived, made sure she was comfortable with everything, and did a great job with the actual piercing. They then helped her to find her first pair of earrings. I had my industrial and Monroe pierced years ago and needed help changing the Monroe jewelry. The screw was threaded and I couldn't get it out. I've only ever been to one piercing shop and that was back home so I was extremely nervous about visiting a new parlor. I made the appointment and went in around 8. I decided I wanted my left tragus done and my Monroe jewelry replaced. Not only did Amy change my Monroe and replace the jewelry, she pierced my tragus with almost zero pain. We had also known several people who had taken their kids to get their ears pierced there. The process we easy for scheduling (online) and the instructions were clear. The process day of was seamless. We went with friends and there were no tears from the girls. The piercers were extremely professional and friendly. The earrings ranged in prices, and for earrings they are priced x 2, so overall expect to pay more than going to the mall. However, the lowest tier is still medical grade and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful with the selection. There was a walk-in follow up to check the piercings that was of no charge. I went in to see Danie Hooks, because she is my favorite! I did a helix. Danie gave me great advice on which stud to pick and picked the perfect spot on my ear. I am always a little lightheaded in these situations (vasovagal response) and so I warned her in advance. She was brilliant at helping me through that part. Offering water, candy, compresses for my head, and knowing just how to handle it with care and experience. She is more than just an awesome piercer - she is the whole piercing package! I took my 6 year old daughter and 4 year old daughters to have their ears pierced this weekend, after many recommendations and glowing reviews from other parents. I was a bit nervous about my 6 year old's ears since she has a scar on the back from a previous surgery, but the process was quick and she was sooooo excited! My 4 year old was excited to get her ears pierced, but very scared and nervous. Hooks was in the room with us the entire time, was incredibly sweet and patient and offered some words of encouragement while she my daughter worked through her fears and was ready to go. Both of the girls ears look great and they are so excited to show off their new jewelry to their friends and teachers. The entire process was very well run, the rooms are very clean and sterile equipment is used each time. They offer tandem piercings which was extremely helpful for the younger crowd who may be a bit nervous or reluctant to get a second piercing. I've had my ears pierced here (twice; now I have two holes in each lobe) and took my 4-year-old daughter to get her ears pierced today. They could not be nicer, cleaner, or more professional. They made my daughter feel really comfortable and did a tandem piercing so the pain was over quickly. I love that they use implant grade titanium jewelry and are extremely concerned with hygiene. The first time I got my ears pierced, I accidentally pulled out one of my earrings and couldn't get it back in. They fit me in right away and helped me replace the earring in my ear. I love craigpokesu. The establishment is extremely clean and the piercers are all well-trained and very professional. They answered any and all questions I had even years after getting a piercing from them. I got a piercing there over 3 years ago and when I needed a consultation for a suspected infection a few months ago they were happy to help in checking it out and determining what the issue was- free of charge! Despite being on the pricier side, I would say it pays itself off in the future because you can always go back to them for your piercing needs. For example I had to get a retainer out in for a surgery and they were able to help not only with providing the retainer jewelry (at a cost of course) but in putting it in for me and when I returned the next day after surgery they were very accommodating in putting the original jewelry back in. They explain everything they are doing step by step and make sure you understand and all questions are answered. I got pierced by Amy yearssss ago but have been going to Jason recently and he is amazing! I give Jason alone a 10/10 going above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. They moved to a new location since the time I got my piercing but it is not far from the original location and the new location is nicely set up and decorated! I never had my ears pierced before and I decided on the whim to finally get them done before my 23rd birthday. Gosh that was scary to type. Anyways I knew not to go to Claire's, so thank God I found this place. I decided to get all 5 at once, standard and upper lobe on each. I wanted to get helix on both but they said to just do one side since I needed one side to sleep on. SHOUT OUT TO AMY! She has such steady hands and let me see where she placed the dots where the piercings would go and let me sit for a second to see if that's what I liked. So understanding and I love that she didn't make me feel rushed at all, AMY thank you so much! I will say for me the upper lobe on both ears hurt the worst for me, not the helix. The earrings they provide for you are SO HECKIN CUTE, they have french fries and a hamburger or hotdog! The prices for the piercings are fine, and the earrings are top notch AA grade, so it's a bit expensive, but you are getting the best quality! I had been searching for a place to get a tragus piercing, while I was on spring break. I stumbled upon this place on yelp, and I'm so glad I did. I made an 8pm appointment, but was out of the house earlier in the day and figured I'd see if there was any chance I could come earlier in the day. They told me I may have to wait a but they would try to squeeze me in. I got there and everything went smoothly. From the first person who greeted me, to the piercer. She was so kind and walked me through picking jewelry and her process for piercing. It was done before I knew it and I hadn't experienced more than a pinch. While I spent more than I know I could've paid at another place, I believe it was worth it for the quality of piercing, jewelry and overall experience which is exactly what I was looking for. I'm probably one of the more conservative appearing people in the shop at any time, but I'm always welcomed, and everyone is quite professional and knowledgeable. I've gotten 2 piercings done here. Double tragus and my second nose piercing. Always feel comfortable in this place and although there's closer piercing places to me I would rather come here. My first time coming I wanted a piercing that I was told I don't have enough ear for or cartilage idk but i trusted him and was glad he didn't just do the piercing just to do it and I end up having issues. But he told me double Tragus would look good so I went with that. I had an issue with the top one going in my hole and getting a bump that was bigger than the jewelry but he switched me to a longer post and I haven't had issues since. I was pierced by a guy who's name I don't recall that had I think horns or some type of implants in his head ( and for some reason it made me more trusting lol) Second nose piercing was done by a female who's name I also don't remember but she was quick and friendly. I got my nose dec 2020 so the vibe at the front was definitely different then my first time. I don't know if it was from nervousness of covid and possibly having too many ppl in the front at once and have someone possibly reporting them but it def felt different. The lady at the front was having ppl wait in their car until she called to keep the front from being crowded. Making an appt def cuts out this process. But I will def be back to switch out a piercing and possibly get another piercing. I will say their actual parking lot is definitely a headache in its own. Small and tight. Theres another lot to the right that says they tow and it's for a restaurant a few doors over but I've seen ppl park there. Based on the feedback I received from Craig I went back into the shop, had the piercing removed and they did refund my money for the piercing and I am going to wait a few weeks for it to heal and have it redone by Blake. I had an amazing experience and I think that this just shows the type of service that a shop owner and his employees are willing to do to make things right. I thank Craig for the quick response and I look forward to having it redone. I might add that in talking with Blake septum piercings are very hard to do because of the tissue of the septum so this was no fault of the piercer, lining up that hole straight is a very difficult thing to do and especially when you've redone it twice in a matter of minutes and there is swelling involved so I don't wanna put any of this on the former piercer. Blake talked about what he would do on the Piercing when I come back and how we can ensure it's gonna be straight so I appreciate the time he took to explain and I look forward to working with him. read more

The shop is a small cozy place, there is a parking lot at the back but it was pretty full when we came to we parked at a fast food place nearby. Upon coming in we were very welcomed despite the place being pretty busy. We booked an apt and came in, picked the earrings, waited for the room to be sterilized after the previous customer, then it was my bf's turn. The process was quick, the guy who helped us made sure the markings for the piercings are in even position, and there we go. We got a bottle of sth similar to hydrogen peroxide to go home, received instructions on how to clean the piercings properly, and will come back in about a month for a free follow-up check up!
