We had a great time for our family reunion recently. We rented Lake House #12, and a few more cabins. The lake house was great for the 9 adults and 2 kids that stayed. We could have accommodated a few more! The porch was perfect for cookouts and hanging out in the evenings. It was VERY hot this week (and we came from Florida), but the air worked great on the lower floors but the upper floor peeps said it was a little warm at night. That is unusual for this neck of the woods, I know, I grew up here. I would describe this place as a notch or two above rustic. Perfect for our needs! Lots of tables and seating and a large refrigerator. Towels were scarce and we flew up from Florida so Todd, the owner provided more. There is a dishwasher and a washer dryer which was broken when we arrived but they got it fixed during our stay. The walk to the lake is a little bit of an adventure, but doable. If I could give this place 0 stars I would! In all my years of traveling and getaways. This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. Upon arrival, we smelled a strong sewer smell but didn't think much of it. Once parked, we said our hellos to the friends and families who arrived a day before us. The owner of the property, Frank, stormed towards us at the parking lot and started interrogating us and asking "what are we doing here and why are we offloading all these things?" After telling him we have booked and are going to check in. He then asked us to follow him to the office and to shut the door behind us. Then, suddenly out of no where he started having a breakdown in front of my husband, my 3 year old son, and I. He went off and started yelling at us about how his sewer is backed up and the amount of people in his establishment are putting a strain on the septic system. His face was red and flushed and he was scaring my son. My husband and I were in shock, we just got there and this is the welcome we received from the owner of this establishment! My husband told him that this is not our problem if he overbooked his establishment and instead should be apologizing for the sewer smell. Clearly, he booked out every single room out during the pandemic and there was no social distancing put in place. He started getting more offended and told us not to shower often and flush less. My husband laughed and said "so do you want us not to shit?" He then asked us about our other friends truck who were here to help us offload. However, he then came up with a bright idea that we should go hang out wherever they booked and not strain his septic system for the night. The funny part is our friends also booked for the following night in this establishment! They also didn't have a very pleasant check in with Frank's wife. The couple that run this establishment are nut jobs. At one point during our check in, we asked Frank "ummm, so do you want us to check in or not?" We were already regretting that we booked there and was debating if we should drive 5 hours back home. We were in such a dilemma because we didn't know what to do. We came up to spend time with friends and family and obviously we didn't want to be separated. So my husband and I checked in anyway regardless of how we were mistreated just so that we can spend quality time with family. Aside from the check in process, this establishment is disgusting! It's full of flies and cockroaches. Literally we had to deal with smelling sewer poop, flies, and cockroaches all over the kitchen, toilets, on our blankets, on our children, on our food the whole entire weekend. My kids were stepping on septic water while playing. The whole play area was saturated but he had only barricaded a small section. There is mold in the bathroom tub and floor. There are cobwebs around the bed frames. There is no housekeeping so that is misguided on their website. Frank and his wife are literally the front desk, the housekeeper, the garbage man, the night patroller, and the whole hotel hospitality team. Most importantly, we were trying to make the best of what we could of despite the horrible hospitality. However, if you plan to sit and lounge outside after 11pm. Don't come here. Frank was literally pacing back and forth and patrolling the place to make sure no one is talking too loud. This was so ridiculous and I wished I took a video of him doing that. All in all, I would never ever come back here with my friends and family. I would never recommend anyone to come here. Spend your money somewhere else where you don't get abused like this. We obviously couldn't make a complain to anyone because they are the owners. So here I am letting everyone know what a horrible place this is. read more

I've fallen in love with this place! Very nice and neat clean rooms . The stay is affordable .The owners Frank and Marion are very accommodating , they're available all the time . It's family/kid friendly place they have toys and games from toddlers to teenagers . There's two swimming pools one heated and one not . You can make a bonfire at the property . There's enough woods in the yard for you to use . Barbecue and picnic tables in front of every rooms . The lake access is such a beautiful walk down and about two minutes hike up . I didn't give it a five star only because it's not ADA friendly when it comes to lake access, and though the rooms are very clean , your neighbor could be noisy at night when everyone else's is having a great time and the slamming of the door is just annoying . I suggest this to all moms and dads who loves nature and quality time with their family . read more

I want to start off with if you read older reviews they are not accurate because we just got home from staying at cramers point and it was awesome! We stayed here for 3 nights for an annual trip. From now on we will not be going anywhere else. I rebooked for the next year. The unit we rented was clearly recently renovated and everything was so clean and perfect. All of our friends were raving about the place. Big Thank you to Todd for checking in and making sure we were comfortable. The staff was terrific. See you next year! read more

During Labor Day weekend a group of friends and I lodged at one of the cabins here. There were 13 of us and there were enough rooms and beds for all of us. Three full bathrooms were in the cabin we stayed at, which meant we did not have to fight for showers. The cabin has a living room with fireplace, a bigger dining area next to the living room, a smaller dining area next to the kitchen, a kitchen that is equipped with a fridge and kitchen utensils, a back frontal porch area equipped with tables and chairs and a barbecue grill. We also had 5 car parking spaces available right outside of our cabin. There were many other cabins of all different sizes depending on the capacity, which all had a barbecue grill supplied. There were two swimming pools and one of them was heated. How sweet is that? There was not a jacuzzi though. For leisure there's a volleyball area, ping pong, horseshoe throwing, camp fire, row boating and canoeing. There's also a beach area right by the cabin area. This area was very family oriented and the people there were really nice. Next time I visit Lake George I'll be sure to stay at one of the cabins here. read more

I've been going to Cramers Point for the last few years and we always have a wonderful time. Frank and his wife are wonderful.

We had an excellent time at Cramers Point. Frank & Marion were gracious hosts. The room was clean as were the grounds. It was off season but we had the fire pit going at night, horse shoes and went out on the lake with row boats. Sitting on the decks having lunch was great. Stopping to take a breath from the real world and just relax with no deadlines. Not the fanciest of places but we would go back and we recommend it if you want to kick back and take it easy. Just 5 minutes from the village where all the action is, so easy to get to. Go and enjoy this place. read more

I was a terrible experience with this organization, imagine that they charged my family for their (3) three years old daughter, we paid extra for the patio but couldn't relax after ten we had to stay indoor after (10) ten pm the sewer was seeping through the soil and onto the trail we used to access the beach. Staffs were rude and highly unprofessional. We went back not realizing management has changed so that was our mistake. Be aware this property is under new management and it showed. We were returning customers that left dissatisfied. Lack of supplies. No welcome package so we went without wifi. The pool was green, probably algae but who knows. Could not use it. I wouldn't recommend this place to any human. Cramers Points needs major improvements and hospitality education to say the least. read more

Place is dated, but my room wasn't dirty (I do recommend bringing your own sheets/comforter/pillow though I'm glad I did). I asked for non smoking and there are ash trays in my room/smells of smoke and stale. The clientele is less than desirable here. Kids outside screaming at 11 pm, people blasting their music at full volume makes me want to rip my hair out. Way too much noise. No issues with the owners they were actually quite pleasant. I liked that we had our own picnic bench and bbq. I was disappointed that I couldn't fish on the beach but I understand it is a safety hazard. If you're looking for something cheap this might be ideal but if you're a clean freak and enjoy quiet I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

Cramers Point is definitely more of a family place - swing sets, horse shoes, kiddie toys, etc. The cabins have a very Adirondack feel to them and are great for the price. There's a bonfire pit and some lake front with free rowboats to use too. The pools are nice and clean, and the owners are very nice people. The thing about it is, I'm not coming to lake george to spend my whole day in the room. When we're around the motel, we're usually at the pool or beach, but most of the time we're out an about in town anyway. The area is really beautiful. Great hiking and the lake is a lot of fun. We had a great time staying at Cramers Point. The owners were super-friendly and regularly asked us if there was anything we needed and to ensure our vacation was going well. The heated pool was just outside our door, and we had Weber charcoal grill outside our cabin for our exclusive use. The kids enjoyed the playground, the shuffleboard and the ping pong. I took them out for a canoe ride (no extra charge) but had to cut it short because of the wind. One night we got the community bonfire going and made s'mores. The wood was very well seasoned and dry so it was very easy to start and keep going. The cabin was a little dated but comfortable, and a good selection of kitchenware, etc was on hand. The 40" flatscreen was a nice touch. Bedrooms were small, but we weren't on vacation to sleep all day. The place is just far away enough from town that we felt peaceful, but close enough to easily make it in for groceries, fireworks, etc. overall, we can't wait to go back to Cramers Point for our next LG trip! read more

These people are dirty and have little interest in pleasing their guests. And It's not cheap so your paying them to sleep in their dirty old cottages. I'm afraid to let my babies sit or crawl on the floor. If your looking for a real vacation don't even bother coming to lake George let alone this dirty place. Too add to the disgust and to fully clarify what you are dealing with I must add that we were eating on our deck and these guys hovered over us for almost one hour mowing the surrounding lawns. I told them 2 times kindly if they would stop because we were inhaling the gas fumes from the lawnmowers and they continued on. Real nice vacation for us huh? read more

Cramers Point is the place to go with the family. We had a wonderful time. the owners and staff are extremely friendly. Always a good morning and how is everything. We stayed in a cottage and it was truly home away from home. It had everything i needed plus more... The pools are salt water and very clean. They have everything from ping pong, shuffle board, etc to 2 playgrounds for the little ones. Then end the evening with a bonfire and make smore's. We will be going back next year. read more

I had hoped that Cramer's Point would be a great place to stay on my recent vacation to Lake George. The swimming pools and the playground equipment also attracted us as we were travelling with our young daughter. The reality of Cramer's Point was quite different from the positive reviews, however. The cabin was tiny, antiquated, and had a strange musty smell. The bedrooms did not have doors, either. They have plastic partitions which provide no privacy whatsoever. The bedrooms were so small they barely fit the (undersized) beds. Access to the beach was not "right by the cabin area." The beach is accessed via a long path parallel to a private road (you are warned that you can be arrested for walking on the road, which makes you feel great). You actually have to follow a painted dashed line and down a steep dirt path to get to a tiny stretch of lakefront access. Also, there was no housekeeping service whatsoever. Towels had to be requested and the phone to the office did not work. Furthermore, the playground equipment looked fifty years old and did not appear safe. The kid's toys they had laying around were faded and worn from decades out in the sun. The walls were paper-thin and I could hear my neighbors clearly when I was in the bathroom. The furniture was as out-of-date and flimsy as possible and the amenities at the hotel were scarce. Parking was cramped and difficult. The pool had a funny smell. I could go on and on. Mind you, I might be able to overlook these many shortcomings if it were a real bargain. But that's just the thing: It was very expensive. I have stayed in much finer accomodations for much less money. Cramer's Point is far and away the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It was a joy to finally leave it. Nothing in this review is hyperbole, either. Trust me, stay away from this dump. read more

We stayed in July, booked last minute because it was one of the only places with vacancy. If you want to really "rough" it, than this place is for you. The cabin is super cute on the outside, but dated and a little icky inside. We didn't realize we had to bring our own shower towels, and sheets and blankets for the pull out beds. We've started a yearly tradition with friends of ours to go to Lake George, and picked Cramer's after researching places online. I can't believe how positive the reviews are of this place on other sites since I've never stayed at a more cramped, dirty and unmaintained property. From the moment we walked in, we were killing ants (there was a can of ant and roach spray on top of our cupboard, along with several ant traps in the room), spiders and cleaning a gross film off everything in sight. For the amount of money we paid to go there, the owners could consider hiring an exterminator for the ants and bugs - and clean the place! The pots and pans that were in our unit were old, falling apart and nothing I would cook food in; the silverware and silverware tray was dirty and everything we touched seemed to have a slimy film on it. Not to mention, the hideous décor, outdated and old furniture (I think the "kitchen table" was a covered up card table), stove that doesn't have all the burners working, torn blankets - and the bathroom was so outdated that the trim was falling apart and there was mold growing on it!! MOLD!! For the air conditioning, there was one wall unit that didn't cool the whole unit and forget about housekeeping since it doesn't exist. We were in a "housekeeping cottage" but not only does your $200+ a night not get you bath towels, but it certainly doesn't get anything cleaned either. If you're also looking for a lake view, this isn't your place. Trees block any sort of view of the lake and the owner readily admits that he does not advertise views.... But he's also quite silent on that as well. The photo on TripAdvisor must be from another location, but certainly not from any porch we saw. Both our families ended up leaving early since we couldn't stand to be in these units another minute. Find somewhere else.... Next year, we will. read more
