Even with Oktoberfest raging below, once the balcony door was closed the silence was so complete that I could almost hear my own thoughts apologizing for existing. The hotel sits right on Canada Street, which is the main artery of Lake George's little heart. Shepard Park is practically across the street, full of families, music, and the particular chaos of people on vacation trying to have a perfect time. The staff managed to stay cheerful through it all, smiling with the kind of sincerity that must come from good training or good souls. Parking was a game of Tetris, but I was grateful for the garage. Once my car was wedged in, I had no reason to drive again. Everything that mattered was within walking distance. The rooftop terrace deserves a poem, though I am too lazy to write one. The lake spread out below, blue and calm, and for a few minutes I believed in peace on earth. There is no hot tub, which feels like a crime against nature. The patio outside the pool almost begs for one. Imagine sitting there in January, snow falling into the water, steam rising like forgiveness. The restaurant did not thrill me, and the prices made my wallet flinch. Still, it was a fine stay, the kind that makes you feel momentarily better about the human race before the bill arrives to remind you of reality. Four stars. A lovely place, too expensive for what it is, but worth remembering all the same.

There is no elevator so one must carry their luggage up the stairs if staying on the second floor. Nice balcony view of the pool and view. Friendly staff and service. The firepit is nice but a bit situated high to sit around and stay warm at night. Make sure to put parking pass on display on the dashboard to not get towed. Convenient to walk to most places around the area from the hotel - restaurants, mini-golf, shopping areas, the pier, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

A person who cannot stand at all cannot transfer onto one of these inside a tub. Secondly, the room that they provided me for my stay had the bathroom so small that the only way a wheelchair user can access the tub was to sit on the bench facing the back of the tub. There was no way to get on the shower bench and face forward in the tub. Therefore, I needed help to access the water controls for the shower.

Only one seemed to be sleepwalking at the front desk and never did send extra coffee pods to our room when we asked. So, I ended up walking down to the lobby to get coffee each morning (which honestly tasted way better anyway). We've already made our reservations here for next year.

They remember us, greet us cheerfully and make this feel like a home base. The outdoor hot tub was a particularly welcome amenity on this past brutally cold weekend and it helped us warm up a chill that seemed to go straight to our bones after time outside on the lake. It really is one of those few places that feels like a welcome retreat no matter the weather. If there weren't any flaws, this would be a much easier review to write. But there are flaws, and they are things that should have been tended to long ago. The rooms have definitely seen better days. Many of our dresser drawers barely opened. The refrigerator was hardly cool. Furniture had visible damage and some of the electrical outlets were non-functional or battered to the points that plugs fell right out f them. These are not deal breaking in isolation but taken together they left us feeling that the room was tired and poorly maintained. A little thoughtful maintenance or investment here could go a long way and make the rooms feel a lot more comfortable. Another disappointment this year was the breakfast buffet at TRs Restaurant. In years past it was a highlight and something our kids looked forward to to prepare for a cold morning out. This visit, the quality seemed to have declined and the selection felt smaller. The restaurant itself still has a lovely lake view and a cozy fireplace, and the service was still friendly and attentive, but the breakfast spread did not live up to our memories. So I find myself landing on a three star rating. If you take this place for what it can still be, it is a wonderful family resort with great staff and some truly nice amenities. But right now the condition of the rooms and some of the public areas combined with the breakfast experience hold it back from being the much stronger destination I know it can be. Here is hoping that ownership puts some money back into the property so it can recapture its full potential.

Friendly, family owned business. The new owners are working hard to upgrade the property. We stayed in the motel. The room was clean. Fully stocked with towels. The owner directed us to the room. She waited for us to park then showed us the room. She made sure to let us know to contact her if we had any issues. Please ignore the review stating the pool was not clean. Both pools were open with guests swimming. The water was crystal clear in both pools. We walked down to the lake. Amazingly quiet small beach with beautiful views of the lake. We saw the Minnie Ha Ha out on the lake. They have a row boat and a couple of canoes for guests. Life jackets are provided by the hotel. It was our daughter's first time in a canoe. She had a blast. The families staying in the adjoining rooms were friendly and respectful. We recommend the hotel for a family. Unfortunately, the grand majority of the reviews were written based on the previous owners. Yelp should remove old reviews when properties change ownership. The old reviews do not properly represent the hotel or its current owners. We would stay again. Happy to support a family business in an area slowly being inundated with corporate properties. read more

Stay away from CRAMERS POINT and cottages! NOT VERY ACCOMMODATING TO THE SICK!!!!!! Horrible absolutely no humanity! Recently booked a stay with my children, and my mom was suppose to stay at my house and watch my pets. Unfortunately this morning my mom called to tell me my dad is probably on the way to hospital for his heart (he has had several ballooningS and open heart) so this isn't a common visit... So I called Cramers point asking if it would be okay to switch dates because we probably weren't going to be able to go next week... Her answer was "no.. If I had other bookings maybe ..but I don't so no.. I can't refund you." So my husband said, no, we want to change the date. We don't want a refund.. And Maryann the owner, said No, can't take on others people's problems. Sorry. Horrible business people and human beings! read more

It is right on the strip (Canada St.) yet quiet and quaint as if you were at a campground. I've been to so many hotels over the years coming to Lake George but I will only stay here. They are dog friendly which is great for us as we take our dogs with us. You wouldn't even know they are dog friendly by how clean the rooms are. I'm really going to miss being here. Best of luck to Gary and Suzy but they will do fine from what I saw. We will be back next year!!

But we were greeted by welcome notes and codes for our rooms, we were the only guests in the place... We were in the bird rooms..smaller and cozy cute rooms. But they were very accommodating and upgraded us for our second night stay in the tree named rooms. Which we first was staying on a Tuesday night and then we stayed over on a Thursday night. On our Thursday night we were actually greeted by everybody that work there full bar and restaurant was open and it did not disappoint. I personally enjoyed the tree rooms bigger bed. The mattress was super comfy we also had a steam shower in the bathrooms. I must say the sheets and comforter that they use on the bed are super soft and some of the most comfy sheets I've ever stayed in at a hotel. I do enjoy that they have a couple public rooms where there's couches pool tables and Outdoors there is a fireplace Let's talk about the Birch restaurant. Ally is an amazing bartender!!! The menu had soooooo many choices I wanted try. I had one of their specials the soup which was a creamy queso style soup. Also went with the braised rib with real mashed potatoes. And one of their homemade desserts. Opera cake. (Hopefully thats how it was spelled) Also included in your stay is breakfast which there was numerous choices to choose from I chose two eggs any style with their local resourced bacon wheat toast and then also homemade ketchup and jelly!!! Brewed green tea and OJ.. My vacation in the Lake George region yearly and can't wait to take my son for a nice dinner here. It says it's an adult only inn. But they assured me I could actually have my son stay the night but since there's only one bed per room we most likely will opt to stay somewhere else but maybe a nice girl's trip staying in one of the Lakes rooms which features Big soaking Jacuzzi tubs!! Also they have a Tranquility room where you can just meditate and relax and a sauna. I feel the only thing that this place is missing is a gym and a hot tub. But they provide snowshoes in the winter time and have a nice hiking trail that you can do all year round and you're very close to friend's lake. Very happy to have stayed at this place.

The lake area is in a shallow cove and my kids were literally able to run out for a few minutes and still be up to their knees. Rooms are a little older, but they are clean and spacious. The property is pretty small, so everything is an easy walk. There's also plenty of parking onsite. The location is also prime in Bolton and it's just a two minute drive up to all the shops and restaurants. The owners were super sweet and friendly and helped us out a few times when we were locked out of our room. Overall, this is a really nice family run hotel in Bolton and the location on the lake can't be beat. There are definitely cosmetic upgrades that could be made, but like many other hotels in the area it's a little old school. Looking forward to coming back - we had a great time here.

They accommodated us anyway, just told us it would be a little bit before the room was clean and ready, and that was fine by us. We walked right over to Beck's for a quick bite and drink and that was AMAZING!- but go over there for that review. The rooms are clean, there's nice little notes written for you with tips and info, there's plenty of brochures for local dining and travel sites, a trail map for gore mountain, a tv, WiFi, comfortable beds, towels, PLENTY of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, (super nice touch) and complimentary Swedish fish and sparkling water! There's even a Keurig, K-Cups, and mugs for your use to get you up and at 'em so you can be the first one at the mountain in the morning. Speaking of- it's not even a mile away from the gore mountain entrance- another huge plus. We knew within seconds that we wanted to write a good review for this place- and we don't write reviews often. There's communal yurts to hang out in- which we unfortunately never checked out but loved that we had the option. And they even have equipment and tools for ski racing! You can tell that they take care of the place and also take skiing seriously! It felt like staying at a relative's house but without any of the annoying check ins. They have a small private beach area and a pool as well. The motel is located within walking distance to stores and restaurants. I have always enjoyed staying here during my trips to Lake George.
