Katie the triage nurse, Brandy Fifield NP, Twila a CT tech, Sierra a CT tech, and Alexander a nurse, were all wonderful. Very professional, great attention to detail, great bedside manner and very empathetic to his pain. Because of the above mentioned staff, I am rating the ER a 5. In contrast, we also had a male CT tech (big guy with glasses) who was not at all empathetic and came across very gruff and unprofessional. If I had to rate the ER based on this guy, it would be a 1.

I arrived around noon at Memorial Hermann Pearland because I had a GI problem (could not defecate…read morefor a week and was in a lot of pain) and my Dr. Daraam is there and was supposed be on call. A few hours later I was taken to the back. Dr. Chukwuma, comes in and I explained to him my problem and told him that my back or legs would give out and down on the floor I would go. I thought maybe the 2 issues are related. My daughter, who has learning disabilities, would say or ask something and he would arrogantly challenge her. I asked him about an enema and he said, "Well didnt you do that at home?" I dont have any tools or even an inkling on how to do that, I told him.He said he would talk to me about options after a catscan. They took blood work and asked for a urine sample. I asked for a hat to catch the urine and dont know if it was putting pressure on my rectum but I finally released a very hard large fecal matter. A few hours later Im put in a room and Dr. Chukwuma walks in. The nurse was preparing me for what I thought was an enema. I told the doctor I did release some fecal matter. WITHOUT TALKING TO ME he sticks his fingers inside my rectum while I am screaming in pain telling me to bear down. After the 3rd time I told him if he was gonna do that again, I need something for pain. He stopped. I asked if he got what he wanted and he answered all he could get was "clay".I asked if he went over my test results yet because I got them in an email and he arrogantly answered, "Why? Just because you got then doesnt mean I read them yet!"And again said he would be back to discuss the course of action. Around 5ish, The nurse tells me Im being admitted but not why. She said the doctor would come in to talk to me but nothing. I had to go to the bathroom quite a bit after that and I would see him at the nurses station and I would try to talk to him and he would see me coming and just run the other way. This happened several times. Finally after a few more hours, he comes in and refused to look at me, HE WAS SCROLLING ON HIS PHONE. He tells me I have a kidney infection and need to be admitted to get IV antibiotics. "You want to stop fainting dont you?" He said arrogantly. I told him I never said that and he stated "You most certainly did." My daughter and I looked at him puzzled and she confirmed I never said that. Then my daughter questioned if maybe I got it during the stone removal I had the week before. Dr. Chukwuma got upset again and challenged my daughter as to why she would say that? He left and I did not see him again. Nor did I see Dr. Daraam despite his office telling me several times they would tell him I was there. My husband was a witness to this conversation and was offended. After six hours I was FREEZING in the room they put me with no call button or temperature control. I was verbally calling for a nurse but despite me hearing them laughing and conversing, no one would come. My husband came back with some bottled water as the nurses would only give me tap water and Pearland water is so bad, it causes kidney stones. He took me to the nurses station, shivering so bad and they said there STILL did not have a room ready for me so I left. When I complained to the hospital, their response was that that I was treated "appropriately" DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!

I was looking forward to seeing a Dr since I have concerns about my health recently so the office manager told me she is sorry she forgot to call me to tell me. Not only I missed other opportunities to make an appointment with other doctors which is very hard to do I wasted the whole day to see the dr which tells you how much they care.

Varughese (Joseph), MD at the Pearland clinic. Had scheduled appointment several months before so could get in right away when January 2023 came, as suggested by new health insurance. Received a phone call ONE DAY prior to the scheduled appointment from the Pearland clinic in January, that Dr. Varughese did NOT accept my health care plan! Had made the appointment in January as need my prescriptions refilled and to establish new care. In addition, received that day a note in MyChart application from Dr Varughese informing me that she would not EVER prescribe any pain medications, no matter what the issue is. I informed this clinic would call my health insurance plan to inform of these issues. The Methodist Pearland clinic disenrolled me from MyChart immediately even though I had filled out most of the preliminary information needed for a first visit such as medications prescribed, allergies, immunization history, etc. I have never been to this clinic prior to this experience. I then enrolled with the Pearland clinic with another doctor that did take my health insurance plan (as the Pearland clinic is so close to where I live). But the earliest I could get in was now in May, 2023. i needed my prescriptions refilled & waiting until May is too long so I requested they call me with a first cancellation to get in sooner. They assured me they would put me on the "urgent" list. I called my health plan and requested assistance with getting in for care. They set me up with a temporary Primary Care Provider in Clear Lake which is pretty far away from where I live, so I could get refills. Later, that evening I tried to sign in to the MyChart app to confirm my new appointment and again I was disenrolled! I found out that without my requesting to do so, The Pearland Methodist group cancelled my May appointment!! When the appointment was made for the Clear Lake doctor, I had made it clear that I would go once to get my medications refilled and then transfer to the clinic closest to where I live. The Pearland Methodist group had now cancelled two appointments with two different doctors & disenrolled me twice from MyChart, even though I have an appointment in 2 days to see a Methodist Group doctor in Clear Lake. All of this within the first NINE DAYS SINCE JANUARY BEGAN!
