I rarely make it to Round Rock, but after my first visit to Waffle Love, I'll definitely be back. A friend brought me here for breakfast, and we decided to share a waffle flight so we could try a variety of items. We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken and waffles, and the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread. Before I get to the food, I want to recognize the excellent customer service. Since it was my first visit, I had quite a few questions. The employee helping us was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. She walked us through all of the flight options, and let us know that everything was made fresh to order, so there would be a short wait. I appreciated the transparency, and when our food arrived I soon found out it was worth the wait. The standout for me was the grilled cheese waffle with tomato soup. The soup tasted homemade, with bright tomato flavor and generous chunks of tomato throughout. It was fresh, and absolutely delicious. The grilled cheese featured a flavorful muenster and provolone instead of the standard cheddar you find everywhere else, and the waffle itself was crispy on the outside with a perfect gooey cheese pull. My friend enjoyed the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread since I'm not a huge fan of Biscoff. I did try the strawberries and cream, though, and both were excellent. The strawberries were fresh, sweet, and firm, while the cream tasted rich and homemade. The chicken and waffles were outstanding. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and well seasoned, and the waffle had a wonderful texture: light and airy inside with a crisp exterior. It was served with syrup and a remoulade-style sauce. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully decorated with fun murals, word art and nods to Round Rock. For a first visit, Waffle Love made a fantastic impression. The next time I'm in Round Rock, I'll be ordering another waffle flight, probably the same 3 selections, just without the Biscoff spread. read more

I am a huge fan of the waffle bowls and they have several to choose from. My faves are the chicken and waffle bowl and the banana/Nutella waffle bowl. My boyfriend really likes the sausage sandwich (eggs, cheese, sausage, and syrup between two waffles) and the banana cream pie (waffle is stuffed with chocolate and topped with scratch made topping and bananas). Had the order of chicken and waffles. The tenders were HUGE covering my waffle entirely. The tenders were seasoned well, slightly disappointing that they didn't have any other sauce (ranch) other than their custom sauce. Also ordered the Nutella and strawberry waffles for my son and an à la cart order of 2 eggs over medium. He enjoyed his waffle but it became overwhelmingly sweet extremely fast so beware! Unfortunately the griddle or pan the eggs were cooked on wasn't cleaned nor seasoned properly bc he took one bite and instantly noticed a "metal flavor" only for us to flip both eggs over and can physically see metal color covering the bottom of both eggs. Super disappointing but we notified the staff and they offered to remake them. Of course my son wasn't trusting and chose not to have them remade. We were refunded $3.50 for the eggs. read more

They offer a variety of waffles and everything we've had here has been delicious. The sandwich/wafflewich options are tasty, with quality ingredients. We enjoyed a Saturday brunch right after noon and had no wait. They serve Coke products here along with water and some other options. The parking lot is a tad small and it's right off a main road, so that should be a problem. The restaurant is nice and tidy with good lighting. The breakfast sammy is a breakfast sandwich with waffles on either side, and it was alright. The sausage tasted too strongly of black pepper, and it was very dry. The eggs were fine. I did like the waffles. The dulce is a sweet dessert with a huge lob of vanilla ice cream with corn flake cereal. Very creative and tasty, although the ice cream to waffle ratio I felt was too disproportionate. The portion sizes are not as big as specialty waffles that might be served as other restaurants, but it's a good size if you don't want to eat too much. We came here on a Sunday at noon, and the restaurant was maybe half full. It only took about 10 minutes for the food to come out. read more

The ambiance is upbeat. Playing top 40 type of music, folks are dressed comfortably, and the tables are a bit too close together but can easily to accommodate larger groups. Chicken and waffles. Had this one first. It served more like a main meal. Chicken was juicy, a bit more breading than expected but was easy to take it off. It was served with syrup and some sort of mayo/thousand island type mix. Grilled cheese & bisque. Had this one next. Should've been first because it had more of an appy feel. Waffles were nice and crispy, cheese was perfectly melted. I used the bisque for dipping but the also provided a spoon in case you want to continue on with it. Banana Love. Saved this one a dessert. The Nutella was pretty thick and a bit overpowering. The whipped cream was really good and banana looked and tasted fresh. Overall, very good and will eventually eat my way through the menu. It's a little place with a walk up counter. You place your order there and find a table. The food came out fairly quick. We ordered the sausage breakfast Sammie, chicken and waffles and a kids meal. My son wasn't a fan of the chicken nor the waffles. My grandson wouldn't eat his chicken tenders. I tasted it and understood why. Whatever seasoning they use doesn't go well with fried chicken. The place is big and bright with kind employees but uncomfortable chairs and booths. My group ordered the Cinna Love, Churro Dream, Chicken Avocado Tartine, and the kids menu Nutella Love. I ordered two because I didn't think one would be enough for me, but these are very well-sized, and one is definitely enough for a grown man. The star of the group was the Cinna Love and the other three were honestly just ok, though my niece loved the Nutella Love. As another user mentioned, why the plastic utensils?? It's a sit-down restaurant, please provide metal utensils, especially when some of the waffles are rather large. I feel like I would take my nieces here for a snack in the future but not for a meal. The fun unique concept of perfect waffles with perfect meals is the place I never knew we were lacking in dining experiences and they deliver with great flavors. In a little strip mall spot, there's plenty of seating and they don't skimp on options for sweet OR savory. I'd recommend you do a waffle flight, or take a group and get 4 or 5 plates to share with everyone to try some of everything. Their servings are very generous! The name has to say it all. We walked in and felt nice and welcoming. Cashier had so much insight. Let us know what he loved and try the chicken and waffles. Which, by the way, is amazing. We also had the Red Wonder with bananas added to it. This was by far the best waffles I have ever had. So they actually make their waffles with dough and not batter. Came here last weekend with 2 friends to catch up while I was visiting in town! This place is very much unique in that it's a small place but still good seating. I think the decor could be done up and the place could use some more seating since it's quite popular on the weekends for a brunch but I enjoyed coming here. We then went to the counter to order while one of my friends stayed at the table to hold it for us since tables were first come first serve. I ordered the chicken and waffles like my friend and my other friend got the chicken tarine (?) Once we ordered, we sat down and waited for our food to come out. Service wasn't too bad, our food came out probably 10-15 minutes after we ordered. The chicken was very good, super crispy skin and moist on the inside. It was 2 chicken thighs. There was 1/2 of a waffle that was cut into quarters underneath. The waffle I felt was made crispy....if not slightly overdone because it wasn't fluffy on the inside. When I cut into it, it wouldn't cut so it was kind of like having to tear it apart. and it was alittle chewy so didn't enjoy it as much. Overall, I did enjoy coming here and eating the food with great company. As it got busier, we finished our food quickly and cleared our table so other people could take a seat. We had to take our food trays and put them by the trashcans. They seemed understaffed since there wasn't anyone available to come by to wipe down the table after people left but overall I think it's still a great spot to come to! read more

If you had the chance to stop by the Dolby House venue during SXSW, then you had a chance to grab a free item from the Waffle Love food truck. I ordered the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque, and have mixed feelings. I felt the dough/batter of the waffle was too thick for the actual amount of cheese inside. If they did an open-faced sandwich/used one waffle, it would have made the ratio less overwhelming. As for the tomato bisque, this was tastier than the sandwich, which was surprising. The waffles themselves are soooooooooo good. Think crossiant waffle. Light and buttery and crispy. But then when you add all the offerings it is to light and floppy for that. I had the chicken BLT sandwich with an over medium egg. The entire insides kept falling out when eaten as a handheld sandwich. That said it was delicious. Messy but yummy.
