If you want a classic American burger experience, this is the place! It has the ambiance, the taste, and the service. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating, and you order at a walk-up window. Each staff member we talked to was upbeat and helpful, and our food came out quickly. The burger was perfect balance of fresh and satisfying--not too bland and not too greasy. And the classic style of wrapping the burger in a sheet of serving paper is a lovely touch.

Great Burger Spot! I really liked the burger here -- it had that fresh, backyard BBQ vibe, like something you'd get at a good cookout with friends. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. I ordered it as it came, no changes needed, and it was spot on. Definitely one of those burgers that hits the spot without trying too hard.

Love the family run small businesses. Burger was good, nice patty. Bottom bun was a little hard (stale). Reasonable prices which is awesome nowadays. Upgraded to chili cheese fries. Not good. Didn't like the liquid cheese and the chili was way too runny to be on fries. It ended up being like a mushy bowl of bad poutine or gravy fries. Sorry, but it's the truth. Maybe the chili is better in a bowl... I would come back though...

Every town needs a joint like this. Good, cheap, filling burgers and fries. The strawberry shake was delicious. Menu prices haven't changed in years, which is such a relief - hats off to this business owner, that is a major blessing when everything else in the world costs an exorbitant amount. These aren't gourmet burgers, but they don't bill themselves to be. Want a good burger and some cheesy fries for a few bucks? This is the spot. Want a fancy bison burger with fried onions and truffle oil? This is not the spot. You get exactly what you'd expect here, and I was thrilled. The service was quick and very polite. The young men inside were refreshingly hard working and chipper, thank you all!

i got a single with onion rings and a vanilla shake. my guest got a double with fries and a chocolate shake. We ate in the restaurant and we were transported back in time. the workers were yelling at each other which added to my experience. My burger was good, lots of toppings, powerful raw onions. It came out quick. you don't come to crash burger to be waited on with a silver platter, you come to crash burger for the experience. a simpler time when a burger was a burger, and a fry a fry.

On our way to Telluride we stumbled across this gem. After a few bad meals and missed meals, we really needed a good serving of food. Crash Burger is just that. CB looks like it is in the spot of an old gas station or mechanic shop. It has a pleasant feel with extremely courteous and friendly staff. The outdoor seating was perfect and there is ample parking in front or on the side street. There is also a drive through. The burgers come in several sizes but a double is perfectly fine. The fries are decent, albeit not as good as Five Guys. They have floats at a very competitive price as well as soft serve if you have a craving or a small kid. My family really enjoyed our visit and the friendly service. I wouldn't hesitate to come back or to stop on my way through the area.

In the middle of a strict diet? Vegan? Affinity for healthy food? This place is not for you. Craving a big, freshly made burger, fries, or onion rings? If so, this IS your place! The structure is a former gas station, and it has all the kitschy nuances of a good old-fashioned petrol stop. The old gas pumps line the front, and there's a few tables with bright red umbrellas to eat under. Because everything is made fresh, the drive-through wait might mean a few choruses of 99 bottles of beer on the wall, but the wait is worth it. The only beer you can get here is the root variety, along with several other types of soda and shakes, too. I followed the recommendation for a 1/2lb burger with cheese and bacon. It was too much for me, but it would feed a hungry person nicely. Love the beer battered onion rings - in my opinion, this is the best way to prepare onion rings, super delish! Make the trip through this nifty little drive-through, you'll be glad you did.

We have lived here for the summer and I finally convinced my wife to check this place out. Super friendly staff, family owned/operated. Way less greasy of a burger than you'd get at a Culver's (and I love theirs too). Didn't notice any gluten free options but alas I shall live vicariously through my wife. The place seemed neat and had a fun pitstop decor with old road signs decorating the outside. We just went through the drive through. They are dog-friendly and gave out pup a milk bone just for poking her head out the window. The fries were great, and overall this place blows McDonald's out of the water.

This burger really surprised me. It reminded me what makes a burger great. Thick hand pressed juicy patties with some of the best tasting beef I have had in a while. Cold lettuce, tomato, raw thin cut onion and pickles doused in the house sauce. American cheese melted and salty. Add bacon to really make it great. Its almost a perfect burger in the 1/2 size (pictured). Its also great in the 1/4, Though 1/2 size had the best balance of flavor. I really pride myself of being a huge fan of burgers and this one is pretty damn amazing. Good onion rings too. Staff was really quick and great even when there was a long line of cars waiting!

My buddy and I stopped there the last weekend of September. After being on our motorcycles for several hours a burger sounded good. I picked this place because it looked cool and quirky. I dug the name and the rocket sticking out of the roof. The girl at the window was really friendly and took our order quickly. My buddy and I both got double cheeseburgers with fries. I think it was $7 and change. I gave the young lady at 10 and told her to keep it. I could not remember a hamburger testing any better than this. This also goes for exotic Burgers such as antelope Buffalo Etc. The burger was not it at all greasy or mushy. It was cooked perfectly and quite fast actually. The lunch was so good I had to go back and give her an extra five bucks. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. read more

Stopped here for lunch before heading out to explore the area. This is a walk up order place. Looks like an old converted gas station. There is dome seating outside but this place seems popular do you may have to eat in your car! We saw on Yelp it was better than In n Out Burger. That was a challenge! I must say the burgers are larger than In n Out & had all the fixings on them. The bun was good. The fries are better than In N Out. The service was good. Pretty quick. I think it might be a draw. This is a great burger place & would go back again!!!! read more

Best burgers in town! All the ingredients are fresh. It takes a few minutes to get your food, but so worth it. Definitely a local hotspot. The customer service is also great. Just opened maybe a month ago, and has been super busy. Just be patient- or go during their off hours between 2-5pm. read more

After being in the Gunnison Valley for about a month, Crash became my go-to spot for burgers...Actually, I think in general. Don't let their size detour you, they are friendly, fast, and tasty! I love the burgers, the meat is fresh and flavorful, the best from any fast food establishment I've had. I also love the hometown feeling, eating outside made me feel part of everything and more comfortable to wander the streets and explore Montrose. read more

Called ahead to see about parking a motor home towing a jeep. Told me to just park on the side road. Burgers were great as were the fries & onion rings. Service was friendly & quick esp. since they were pretty busy. If we pass through again would definitely stop here for lunch. read more

Crash and burn!! We sat in the car masking up then approached the outdoor window to order. No-one was there. Took a couple minutes then someone appeared and said we are closed. I responded a bit surprised and asked what time was closing on a Friday night. 8pm apparently and it was now 8 on the dot. I mentioned I had been waiting for a couple minutes and drove 5 hours to get there but she responded that the grill was already off and turned and walked away. The shrug off was so abrupt that I began to I recall my prior experience when I visited last month. My son dropped his shake just after ordering. They seemed more upset than empathetic and refused to replace it without him paying for another, which he did. After this additional experience I am realizing that this small burger joint just doesn't have a customer centric experience to justify the high prices. The food does not adequately compensate for this lack of service. So why go? Certainly not for the building falling apart which is visible from the drive thru. Certainly it is not the very limited parking or seating, for which there is very little. Could it be the cleanliness of the restaurant? Well, don't look to close behind the curtain! The service? definitely not! The atmosphere? nope. So, what could it be?? Well, maybe it is those extra steps they are taking during covid. Nope, none! So what is it? The food? Not worth it!! Better to wait for Maggie's in Ouray or just turn the corner and grab a burger at Freddy's. The food here does not make up for everything else being so wrong! read more

Found Crash Burger on a trip to Gunnison early this spring. WOW! These burgers are great! Not huge and goopy just plain GOOD. FRESH Fries and tasty shakes too. Since that first time my friends, family and I have been back multiple times. It's a great place to stop while on a trip through Montrose or even for a weekend trip just to have one like today. The quality has not changed at all. PERFECT! We (my friends and family and I) all love Crash Burger. We will keep coming back again. Thanks for being there Crash! read more

Awesome burgers and fries served quickly with a great customer-service attitude. The first time I went, my dog was hanging out the window. When the cashier noticed her, I said "she thinks we're at the bank where she gets a treat." I didn't ask for one or imply that they should have one, but nevertheless when I showed up a week later, they had treats at the window. Small touches like that tell you that the management here is very conscious of their service and they want it to be perfect. read more

This place is awesome! Small menu but that's because you won't need anything except for a burger and fries. I ordered the single, but don't make the same mistake I did, because I wanted more when it was gone. Get the double, triple, or quad. (Yes, 4 patties) Food is cooked fresh and you can tell while eating it. Great staff, the owner was extremely friendly and passionate! Overall, I think it would have to be one of the best burgers around Colorado. read more

This place is a revelation. The perfect all American, old school cheeseburger. Balanced ratio of bun, meat, cheese, pickles, tomato and lettuce. The meat is thick and juicy. The pickles are crisp, the lettuce is fresh. Every bite is pure happiness. And the fries! Salty and crispy on the outside, potato fluffiness inside. These people know what they're doing, hope it stays this way. read more

I don't know how the chain fast food joints stay in business with Crash Burger in town! The ingredients are fresh and the patties are real. Great pickles too. I ate here every Thursday for chili day during my pregnancy; their chili cheese fries and strawberry milkshakes are the BEST! Plus they always give my dog a treat, he approves of the treats.. and the burgers too! read more

Locally owned and operated and it shows in the food and service. Awesome Main Street location where all the action is. Eat on the patio or use the drive thru. Being from California and having access to a myriad of burger styles and variations (think truffles, foi gras, fusion...) I think Rich and the crew at Crash are totally making one of the best straight up burgers around. A true testament to the greatness of SIMPLE, QUALITY ingredients being used in the right proportions. Forget whattaburger, In & Out, this place blows them to bits with a very simple burger. The fries are ok but the staff, milk shakes and superb burger make this a 5 star joint for sure! read more

We're so glad we did! The patio is spacious and comfortable, with several seating areas that give it a relaxed atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive, and his recommendation of the Flatlander Chicken Sandwich ($15.99) was spot on. Since my husband and I often split meals, we ordered one sandwich to share. To our surprise, it arrived already divided onto two separate plates--a thoughtful touch that's becoming all too rare. That kind of service definitely earns extra points. The sandwich was delicious, with grilled chicken breast, guacamole, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle mayo, served with perfectly cooked crispy fries. I ordered an iced tea but couldn't resist trying a sample of their seasonal Peach Ale. It was so good that I ended up ordering a small glass. I'm not usually much of a beer drinker, but this one was outstanding. I only wish they sold it in cans so I could have taken some home! Before we left, my husband picked up a couple of cans of his favorite beers and a Horsefly T-shirt. Great food, excellent service, tasty beer, and a welcoming dog-friendly patio made this a memorable stop. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

Got chicken quesadilla appetizer for the kids, 1/2 rack of ribs, and street tacos (one pulled pork, one grilled chicken, and one beer battered cod) with beans and cilantro rice. The service was kind and I picked it up on time. The orders were hand-written on the boxes. Inside the store was pretty standard for a Southwestern style casual dining restaurant. Dark walls, decent lighting. So as far as affordability...here's where it fell flat. I'll say, the food was all flavorful. If it was taste alone, it would be a 5 star. BUT... The street tacos were comparable in size to Del Taco's street tacos... so...not much. For the price point, not worth it. The "1/2 rack" of St. Louis Style Ribs had a total of 4 ribs. Like...would their 1/4 rack only have 2 ribs?? The best value item was the chicken quesadilla, but we paid extra to sub sour cream for the salsa (my kids can't handle "spice"), and it came in a SMALL condiment cup. Ultimately, we polished off our dinner and had to supplement everything with other foods. Which we'd be fine with except at the price we paid, anywhere else would have easily left us satisfied. Ultimately, it was good and people were kind, so it just amounts to a big sigh.

We ordered 2 grilled mother cluckers and bock bock fries (our go to). It was about 4pm and there were only a few people there (we were the only ones outside). After about 40 minutes waiting for our food I decided to go in to check on things. Our order was sitting on the counter. Their response was "sometimes the buzzer doesn't work from the table you're sitting at"..... ummmmm what? We ended up eating the cold chicken (and I mean cold, not luke warm) sandwiches because we were starving but asked them to remake the fries. Fast forward to a few weeks ago it was a Friday and me and a friend ordered some sandwiches and sat in the back half of the brewery . After about 25 minutes my buzzer went off. When I got up to the counter there was an order of fish and chips... they called the wrong buzzer. No biggie. Well another 20 minutes went by and nothing. People around us that ordered after us were getting their food. So I went back up to the counter and there on their service line were our chicken sandwiches. When I asked the employee about my order she went back and checked and came back and said "we just finished them up". I took the sandwiches back to the table and again they were COLD. Not to mention since the coleslaw was sitting on the bun they were completely soggy. Didn't take the sandwiches back because we had a baby with us that needed to go to bed. I'm not sure if it's a buzzer issue or what. But we aren't sure if / when we will be returning to Pomona, sadly.

I did after all also have my 40 year old husband and two kids in tow so there wasn't much about me that screamed "under 21". All that to be said, we ended up having an overall good time and I'd return. I think that if we lived here this would be a regular spot for us, and I'd remember to bring my ID!

I went last Saturday April 4th and the food was really bad in my opinion. It felt like I was eating a tire the burger was so burnt. Somehow they messed up my order. I didn't get the jalapeños and bacon I asked for even though it was on the ticket when I took it home and ordered it. The fries were the only redeeming quality but they definitely were giving out rations when it comes to them. I was at the window though and waited 15 minutes just for one meal. I would not recommend here ever unless your fat and will literally eat anything. read more

Such a gem! The gas station vibe made it really cute, but the food makes the joint! I travel here from Hotchkiss (about 60 miles) regularly for errands, and I always make a stop at Crash Burger. The employees are always really sweet, and there is an indoor seating area of the chilly days. I recommend this place over several burger joints in the surrounding towns; and don't forget to FIREHOUSE your burger if you like heat! read more

Best burgers in town! Sure, you've got to eat outside or in your car, but the homemade taste is totally worth it. Pricing is reasonable (around $5 for a burger and fries - drinks are extra) and menu is very simple, but they stick to what they know and they do it well! read more
